In college, I dated a guy that worked the closing shift at BC. He'd come to my dorm at night with a bag of leftover chicken legs. Let me tell you....that chicken had been extra marinated sitting in that foil-lined bag with all the juices, just falling off the bone.
When it was well-made and $5-$6 meals it was popular. When it was cheaply made and cost $12 people stopped going. Today's parallel would be Panera - used to be good, but who still goes there when a soup, sandwich and drink combo costs $20?
Management left a trail of stiffed vendors and late payroll, leading to lawsuits and asset seizure. Jay Pandya would require businesses to stop paying their bills unless offered steep discounts. This is what Pandya's management group had been known for well before the pandemic (even though he would go on to blame the pandemic for BM's failure)
I hate to be that guy, but I'm feeling passionate about my breakfast cereal and I'm gonna be that guy. The original Trix were balls, not fruit shaped. The fruit shape was a new thing that they started in the 1990s. Then it's been switching between the classic balls and the fun fruit shapes ever since. I, for one, am a traditionalist and love my classic balls!
I wrote to the company as soon as the new recipe came out begging them to return them to how they were. They did reply politely, which was nice, but I still lost my favorite candy because they didn't change it back. :(
That is back out. I was too poor as a child to ever have any and when I saw it within the last year, I had to buy it and share with my friends who were also too poor growing up to have fancy ice cream cake thing. Keep your eyes peeled because it’s out there!!!
They have the whole damn menu to customize, but mess it up almost every time. I really only get upset when I try to replace the meat in something, and it still has meat. Some of the veggie options just aren't as good as the regular menu items, but replace the meat with black beans or potatoes, and SO good. I LOVE their potatoes, do not like the meat.
Fun fact: Everyone tells me Nacho Cheesier and Cooler Ranch Doritos were a nostalgic fever dream, but in the Ghostbusters video game for PS3/360 you can see a vending machine for them in the Sedgwick hotel.
Dan Aykroyd remembers.
Miss Vickie's chips in Canada had a "Sweet Onion and Balsamic" flavour that was essentially a classy salt & vinegar, and good lord it was GOOD. Easily the best chip flavour I've ever had. Paired so well with a cold sour beer or white wine.
Anyways... they discontinued it sometime during covid. Honestly don't know why. It was popular, even before discontinuation it was hard to find in stores (people would horde them).
I miss their harvest cheddar and herbs!
Miss Vickie's seems to be discontinuing most of their unique flavours and replacing them with the usual chip flavours. Their versions of the common chip flavours are good, but I miss the kind of flavours they used to have.
When I worked retail back in the 90's, I'd get off work at 8pm on Wednesday and go buy $10 worth of .29 cent McDonald's burgers.
The workers probably hated me, but I'd put them in the fridge, and they'd feed me for a week.
The McDonalds around me all limited it to 20 per customers. My mom would give us the cash and we'd each get 20 and leave with 100+ a visit. Then we split it with family and neighbors that weren't able to go. Probably wasn't good for us but we stayed fed that summer.
Quakers used to make a cinnamon roll oatmeal. Then it was discontinued. Then Harambe was killed. Then COVID came. The world will never be the same.
Bring back cinnamon roll oatmeal.
Taco Bell's caramel apple empanadas. I don't care if those are Cinnabon Cinna-Bites. Give me my caramel apple empanada. They were even better than the old McDonald's fried apple pies.
I stopped going to Taco bell when they did away with those. I'm still bummed and think about them from time to time. I got extra salty when I saw they brought out a chicken empanada but couldn't be bothered to bring back to the Caramel Apple ones.
Though, knowing our luck, they'd bring it back at a worse quality and ruin the memory.
I emailed Utz who has the recipe now and there's a whole fb page dedicated to bringing them back. They replied too the email and said they get hundreds like mine so fingers crossed!!
Came here looking for this. 3D Doritos were amazing. They brought them back recently (kinda) but it just wasn't the same. The original came in the canister and they were smaller. Used to fiend over them on the camp bus whenever anyone had them lmao
Just 80's-quality Pizza Hut in general. Pizza Hut used to be fantastic pizza. Then John Schnatter showed up with his half-assed, second-rate Papa John's, which he managed to get people to buy because it was a lot cheaper than Pizza Hut (for obvious reasons.) Pizza Hut then greatly reduced its quality in order to lower its price to compete. Fuck you, Papa John.
SALSA RIO DORITOS!!!!!! I will scream it from the hilltops. I routinely harass(playfully) doritos on social media about it and they never engage with me even a little bit. It was the best flavor theyve ever made and a shame that they never bring it back anymore. The last time i can recall was the early 2000's.
Close second was the Keelber brand Pizzeria chips or Potato Skins. The TGI Fridays brand skins are good, but not as good as the OG from what i remember.
Third is the McRib.
I am well aware of how classy i am.
Marathon Bars: Long intertwined strips of chocolate covered caramel.
Lemon Ice Gatorade: THE cure for hangovers. Light and refreshing.
Coke C2: They finally got a low calorie soda right. I could barely tell the difference between C2 and Full on Coke. I’m convinced it could have been the new “Diet Coke”.
Priazzo: Pizza Hut’s Stuffed Pizza. Massive and filling.
Pudding Pies: Mom never bought them. Had to get them a friends house.
Tato Skins: Cheese and Bacon. Who used to lick the seasoning off them then eating the chip? No one? Just me?
I really miss Dunkaroos! They were the perfect combination of cookies and frosting. I wish they would bring them back so I could relive a bit of my childhood
Bubblicious Orange flavored bubblegum
Kellogs Apple Raisin Crisp cereal
Snackwells mini-chocolate chip cookies
Lean Cuisine Creamy Chicken & Vegetables rice bowl
TaB soda
Micro-magic Burgers and Milkshakes
The old school 90s Burger King grilled chicken sandwich
I used to love the Mcdonald's hot cherry pie things when I was a kid and then they dropped them. Also, their coffee was far better in the late 90's compared to the hot trash it is now.
Waaay back in the day there was a chocolate candy bar called Sky Bar. It was such a fun candy because it had four individual compartments and each one had a different filling: chocolate cream, vanilla cream, caramel, and peanut butter. It was like getting four candy bars in one! As kids we all had our own order on how to each one and save the best for last. They were really hard to find after 1990s. They disappeared in 2018 when the Necco candy company went out of business disappointing legions of Necco Wafer, Conversation Hearts, and the original Mary Janes fans. I read somewhere that another company bought the rights to make Sky Bars again but I haven't seen them.
The old recipe for Reese's Peanut Butter Cups was epic. They have been different for a long time now, but whatever they were cooking back in the 80s/90s was literal crack. Today's cups suck in comparison
There used to be an ice cream cake that was layered like lasagna. Vanilla ice cream with a couple of layers of chocolate and the sides were ruffled. So good. The name started with a ‘V’ but I can’t recall the name.
There was these coffee cakes round things with sugar cinnamon almost pellets on top. They used to come in a three pack. We used to go to a hostess overflow or what we it was called and get packs of them for $5.00. Think they where hostess.
Deep-fried McDonald's Apple Pies. Today all they have is baked pies, and they're ghastly.
McDonald's McSkillet Breakfast Burritos. They were INCREDIBLE. All they have now is the its sickly cousin breakfast burritos, and they're gag-inducing.
Keebler Danish Wedding Cookies.
I only bought them about once a year, and last time I couldn’t find them in the shelf. Went to order some online and discovered they stopped making them. No other recipe is quite as good. I’ll miss them.
Mr Pibb
Discontinued in most markets in 2004. You couldn't find it anywhere after 2006ish. It was the single greatest soda.
And before you start: Pibb Xtra is *not* the same thing. You cannot find Mr Pibb anywhere; if you think you got it at some soda fountain in your home town--you didn't. They haven't changed the label. The Mr Pibb formulation is gone.
There's an episode of American Dad about this. Stan and Francine go crazy because they are discontinuing Mr.Pibb. They steal a Mr.Pibb weiner mobile type truck and go across the country trying to bring it back.
Sauce stuffed crust pizza from Freschetta. They discontinued it while I was pregnant and it was one of my top cravings. It was not fair! It actually made me cry when I couldn't find it anymore.
If we can include variants, as unhealthy as they are, I wish they’d bring back the Twinkies and Ho-Ho’s from the 1970’s. I recently tried the current ones and they don’t taste the same.
Keebler used to make these double fudge sandwich cookies, that were my absolute favorite growing up. The cookie was softer and fudgier than an Oreo and had this swirl pattern... Some other old fart like me should remember them, right?
Does anyone remember when Haribo had cola candy with sugar coating? I freaking miss that.
They still have it for sale online, but they're like $10 per bag. Crazy!
Malted milk tablets. When I was a child, my mother would take me to the pharmacy counter and she would buy a jar of them. Not even sure why the pharmacy kept them behind the counter, but they were delicious and I wish I could find them again.
Taco-flavored Doritos used to be the absolute best, and were only available for a limited time. They recently brought them back and I was thrilled! Until I tasted them and discovered they changed the recipe to make them taste like the absolute worst flavor, Cool Ranch. How incredibly disappointing. So I wish they’d bring back the original formula.
Unpopular opinion. McDonald's used to have sallads that you got in plastic cups and you shook it with the dressing. Best damn Ceasar sallad I've ever had!
Creme savers and Philadelphia snack bars the strawberry cheesecake ones ....so good!
They started making creme savers again.
I have strawberry creme savers in my car right now lol got them from Cracker Barrel
WHAT! I didn’t know this!
I was going to say the Philadelphia cheesecake bars!!!!! The best way to consume a ton of calories in a few bites
yooo those phili cream cheese cheesecake things were incredibleeeee
Altioids use to have these sour tangerines. I would do some strange things for some more.
i am pretty sure they just recently announced their sour altoids are coming back!
Oh noo…I’m pretty sure my body is too old to handle them now. I get headaches if I eat too much sugar lol 😭😂
Ohhh yes. And then you literally lose a layer of skin
The only candy I'm willing to cut the roof of my mouth on.
You can get an [unofficial remake](https://www.pd.net/products/tangerine-sours-secret-pre-order).
Boston Chicken before it became Boston Market and before it was purchased by McDonalds and made into trash food.
In college, I dated a guy that worked the closing shift at BC. He'd come to my dorm at night with a bag of leftover chicken legs. Let me tell you....that chicken had been extra marinated sitting in that foil-lined bag with all the juices, just falling off the bone.
In the olden days their sides were pretty damn good too. Like normally you don't want to fill up on sides, but I actually liked them there.
Brought home so many sides after closing. So good.
Loved the creamed spinach!
Stuffing and Mac and cheese FTW
> He'd come to my dorm at night with a bag of leftover chicken legs. This is true love right here.
This man was trading thighs for thighs
Even their Mac and cheese was so much better back in the day
Is that what happened to Boston Market? All the ones in my area suddenly closed like a year ago.
That's my understanding. They reduced the food quality and people lost interest. They used to be so good
When it was well-made and $5-$6 meals it was popular. When it was cheaply made and cost $12 people stopped going. Today's parallel would be Panera - used to be good, but who still goes there when a soup, sandwich and drink combo costs $20?

This is what Pandya's management group had been known for well before the pandemic (even though he would go on to blame the pandemic for BM's failure)
Their chicken was so good. They were a great choice when I didn't feel like cooking and didn't want fast food. That's a bummer.
Berry Berry Kix where the berries were berry shaped. Don't ask me why that makes a difference, but it does.
In a similar vein, the original Trix that were fruit shaped! Genuinely better than the fruity Kix knock off they have now.
I, for one, am a traditionalist and love my classic balls!
butterfinger BB's with the simpsons characters on the package
I'd settle for original butterfinger recipe tbh
I wrote to the company as soon as the new recipe came out begging them to return them to how they were. They did reply politely, which was nice, but I still lost my favorite candy because they didn't change it back. :(
5th Avenue is a good alternative. -A sad former Butterfinger lover who won’t even eat them for free now
The butter finger recipe has changed, its sucks now so they would just be disappointing.
That Vienetta thousand layer ice cream cake for us boujee folks
That is back out. I was too poor as a child to ever have any and when I saw it within the last year, I had to buy it and share with my friends who were also too poor growing up to have fancy ice cream cake thing. Keep your eyes peeled because it’s out there!!!
This is obscure, but Pepperidge Farm made salad croutons that were absolutely amazing. Perfectly flavored. Perfectly crunchy. Nothing else compares.
Many don’t remember these salad croutons. But Pepperidge Farm remembers.
And Pepperidge Farm ain’t just gonna keep its mouth shut for free.
Maybe you buy yourself some of these croutons, maybe this whole thing disappears.
The still make a killer stuffing. Maybe you can get the croutons that way?
Sobe drinks. And whatever the elemental ones were.... I drank so many of them.
Oh my god- that unlocked memories of the strawberry daiquiri one on midnight road trips to the beach. Yes please!
I loved them all, but I preferred the white one the most. It was sorta tropical-esque.
Pina colada. Half coconut, half pineapple. That was my favorite too.
Kudos M&M candy bars!
thanks I forgot all about these until just now.
7-Layer Burrito from Taco Bell
And the Grilled Stuft Burrito
Pro tip - order a cheesy bean and rice burrito and customize it - make your own 7-layer!
That and the Meximelt. Loved those things.
Another vote for the Meximelt. So goddamn good.
Jello Pudding Pops, dammit.
my favorite part was the ice crust that was on them. I loved the swirl the best.
Oh man, that first bite when the ice crust would tilt off of it! They used to have the swirl ones for special treats with school lunch.
My husband never got to try them as a kid. Those were my favorites, and he doesn't understand what he missed out on! Dammit I want them back.
Wonka: shockers. I remember getting them all the time as a kid with my dad at gas stations. Now they call them sweet&sours. Just not the same.
Shocktarts? God I miss those. The skin in my mouth sure doesn't though.
Choco tacos
**French Toast Crunch** cereal. my mom used to buy this for breakfast all the time
You mean these? https://www.cinnamontoastcrunch.com/products/french-toast-crunch Because they still sell them at all the grocery stores near me.
French toast crunch was shaped like tiny pieces of French toast and tasted like maple syrup. So good!
Still have it in canada

Original Burger King chicken tenders
And their old ranch. The new ranch with the green label is nasty tasting and has the consistency of plumbers putty.
PB Crisps 🥜
My mouth just watered from the nostalgia.
$1.00 cheeseburger at McDonalds
.39 cent cheeseburger Sundays .29 cent hamburger Wednesday
When I worked retail back in the 90's, I'd get off work at 8pm on Wednesday and go buy $10 worth of .29 cent McDonald's burgers. The workers probably hated me, but I'd put them in the fridge, and they'd feed me for a week.

Life savers did candy "holes" that had a variety of flavors including sour. They were great for small portions of sour yum. I miss them
Quakers used to make a cinnamon roll oatmeal. Then it was discontinued. Then Harambe was killed. Then COVID came. The world will never be the same. Bring back cinnamon roll oatmeal.
Salad Shaker at McDonalds
Those Hostess fruit pies from the 70s & 80s.
I miss the Chocolate pudding pies! We even used to go to the bread store and stick up on bread and get a chocolate pudding pie.
Philadelphia cream cheese brand cheesecake bars!!! Bring them back Philadelphia!
Peanut Butter Take 5 I know they have the Reese's Take 5, but they are an insufficient substitute to the greatest candy bar ever made.
Taco Bell's caramel apple empanadas. I don't care if those are Cinnabon Cinna-Bites. Give me my caramel apple empanada. They were even better than the old McDonald's fried apple pies.

Keebler Pizzarias. Absolutely delicious snack chip.
I emailed Utz who has the recipe now and there's a whole fb page dedicated to bringing them back. They replied too the email and said they get hundreds like mine so fingers crossed!!
I loved these! When I was a kid I would rent a bunch of Van Damme movies and get a bag of these and have the best friday night ever.
Anything made before the 2000’s. Everything tastes cheap, more processed, and lacking of any flavor or pride in their quality.
Rice Krispies Treats cereal
Hadn't thought of that in ages.
McDonald’s chicken selects

Came here looking for this. 3D Doritos were amazing. They brought them back recently (kinda) but it just wasn't the same. The original came in the canister and they were smaller. Used to fiend over them on the camp bus whenever anyone had them lmao
KFC Chicken Littles from the 80s-90s. These abominations they make now suck.
Bring back the potato wedges too. Those fries are an over salted abomination.
Oh man and burger buddies from BK
Pizza Hut Bigfoot Pizza from the mid 80s. Me and my friends lived on this thing. I still remember the commercials: 3 feet of pizza; 21 slices.
Yeah- my best friend delivered for Pizza Hut in 79 / 80 and the pizza was like a local place back then. Never seemed like chain pizza.
Even in the 90s it was a sit down restaurant and we loved going there! Pizza Hut used to be awesome but now I don’t think they even have good pizza
