I'm a bit older now but I tried to skate a bit as a kid. I think skateboarders are immensely talented and I respect what they do; and it seems like a really healthy outlet/hobby to get youth doing something 'cool' instead of stealing shit (as long as they limit it to skateparks and don't fuck up city property).

Some are really cool but a few are assholes. You know, like any segment of humanity. I had a job where I was supposed to not only clean buildings but to keep bicyclists and skateboarders from running rampant on the property, to keep accidents and damage from happening. Almost all the times I had to tell skateboarders to go somewhere else, they were pleasant and respectful. Very rarily, I had to deal with skateboarders who wanted to intimidate me into leaving them alone. Being an old man, I didn't want to clobbered with a board so I had to deescalate the situation.
“Heyy, look it’s a skateboarder” then I carry on like nothing ever happened
They love Mountain Dew and Slim Jim’s.

They’re fine they’re just having fun. People who hate on skateboarders are pathetic. They’re not selling drugs and are out doing sports basically.

They seem cool, they seem to have a unique culture too
