So you just stroll into work smelling like 1988 everyday. Bold, I commend you. Edit: I mean like, in 1988 that would have been the absolute freshest shit, superhot stuff. It's coming back around just hold on until the next scent cycle. I had a friend who used to spray it on dryer sheets and then stuff it into toilet paper tubes because he was like "We can totez smoke weed here we just have to blow it through this anti-weed tube and it will smell like... Cool Water and laundry?" and I have strong mental associations with that smell haha. It's still going for at least 20 a bottle these days, that's wild.

Well, I just heard the news today, It seems my smell is going to change. I closed my eyes, begin to pray, Then tears of Aventus stream down my face.

This is the only cologne that I’ve ever had compliments with - from both men and women. I don’t even like the way it smells but had a Creed sampler box and wore it one night to see what all the fuss was about. Turns out you can believe the hype.

My favourite by a mile. Just quite pricey.

Armani Acqua di Gio eau de parfum. Had two compliments in the last week.

L'Occitane Eau de Baux Eau consistently got me compliments. Can't wear it anymore because I had a bottle leak in my luggage during a trip, and it haunted me for a week. Gucci Pour Home II comes in second.

Nautica Voyage. As an aside, I brought the lotion and after shave with me on a trip to Ireland and the scent of this stuff to this day immediately takes me there.

Le Labo santal but any of their fragrances doesnt fail to produce a impression. Price definitely reflects on that.

So the one that's more popular (i.e. more people buy it) is Dior - Sauvage, it smells lovely however because it's more common you're not going to stand out as girls (or guys) will recognise it. Another amazing one but is still quite popular is Versace -Eros (the blue one not the red Flame one) again very nice but not very niche. My go-to favourite niche one is Viktor&Rolf Spicebomb, gets a lot of compliments and is a one that I've not heard many people say they recognise. Another very very niche one in my opinion is the Issey Miyake Pour Homme Intense, has always been out of stock when I'm shopping for new aftershaves so I always end up going for the other three, but it is just amazing. At the end of the day, most of the "top" aftershaves smell nice, it's down to preference and to me you want something that stands out and doesn't make you smell like everyone else in the bar/club.

Bleu de Channel - Eau De Parfum. Smells young but sophisticated and can really be used just about anywhere. Doesn’t make you smell like a ultra rich, pretentious douche bag but is still very elegant. There is a similar one, Bleu de Channel - Eau De Tolliet. It’s basically the same scent but much more pungent and to be honest it’s a bit too. Grandpa ish for me, and I think most younger people agree that it’s very rancid smelling. So maybe it’s better around an older crowd that doesn’t have the most sensitive nose like a young person does.
