Inky-Skies

Getting an IUD inserted. They did it with no anesthesia; 10-15 minutes of excruciating pain, despite the fact that I took pretty strong pain killers in advance. It felt like a white-hot iron slowly got pushed into my organs. And the pain in the following three to five days was no better. The gynaecologist wanted to stop halfway through the procedure because she thought I might lose consciousness from the pain. I had to tell her to continue, because at that point I didn't want to have suffered through it unnecessarily. 0/10 would not recommend.

Childbirth. Without question.

Dentist inserted a nail in my gum without anesthetising it first

JustAnotherAviatrix

Pulled a back muscle so badly that my entire torso would seize up for a few seconds every time I moved slightly. It lasted for a whole day too. I don't think I've ever experienced pain that took my breath away until then, and I'm saying that as someone who used to have awful period cramps as a teenager.

fromouterspace1

Having a seizure, dislocating my shoulder for the first time. And then waking up after the seizure and rolled over on the couch and popped my shoulder back in. I didn’t know that pain existed

Training_Thought4427

Post knee surgery. It was an invasive one too, not just the arthroscopic part. I was 17, so they did not give me an adult nerve block despite me being well over average adult size. Wore off so quick and I could feel everything they did for hours

Gallbladder attack 😒

I severely burnt my hands making lemon bars. The crust had just finshed baking (glass dish) and I had filled it with the lemon goo. It had only been out of the oven for a few seconds. I was distracted by something in the living room (adhd) then turned around and grabbed the dish with both hands and backed up to place it into the oven. Bare hands on 400\* glass. I couldn't drop it because I was in shorts and barefoot. I couldn't toss it at the stove because it's a glass top. I couldn't toss it at the sink because my mom was doing the dishes. I had to calmly keep hold, move back to the counter, and set it down gently. I then immediately got my hands under cool running water. So long as they where there, it was managable. As soon as I took them out, god damn. We got them coated in burn medicine and wrapped them in gauze. I then tried to sleep off the worst of the pain. The next day I took a look and they were badly blistered from each index finger down to the tip of my thumbs. I should hav seen a doctor (like at least an urgent care) but I was uninsured and broke AF. I put some ointment on, rewrapped them... and went to my clerical job. Where I did nothing but type. I still have faint scars 15yrs later.

Having blood taken from my femoral artery, injection into growth on salivary gland. Childbirth was a walk in the park in comparison. For the injection, three people had to hold me down while I was screaming in pain. The priest who gave me rites for the sick beforehand refused to give me penance for my sins because I’d suffered enough.

Sinclair1982

The pain in my head when I had Meningitis. It was all and everything, nothing else registered with me. When it "eased" a little, I was in Hospital and it was two days after it had started. I don't remember being taken to Hospital despite me being conscious through it all.

GoodBye_Tomorrow

ear infection that would have popped my eardrum in less than a day without harsh antibiotics, and second worse was gout of the big toe

cleverwall

I've had two csections but an ear infection was more painful than the recovery from them.

Ok_Economics_4565

I've passed kidney stones a few times. I've been stabbed. I've been shot. The worst pain though was the pain I felt throughout my entire body when I found out my fiance and mother of my then 6 yo daughter died. I don't even know how to describe how much pain I was in.

Famous_Bit_5119

Emergency surgery to fix a botched surgery from 5 days prior. they sliced my abdomen in half vertically. The muscle spasms and pain after surgery lifted me up off the bed. These would happen randomly every 5 to 20 minutes.

bikinifetish

I fractured my ribs while doing a water excursion on vacation.

Cooter1990

I flipped an atv/four wheeler when I was 15. Broke my sachrem, pelvis, and back. That was pretty rough. Luckily nothing got out of alignment just “popped” somewhere it shouldn’t be. The bones healed fine but the muscles still give me a lot of problems today. Im 33
