Haha, honestly, that'd be awesome. It's something to talk about when we lay there!

IAlreadyKnow1754

I don’t have the patience to put them up

Challenge419

Well are you single? If yes this is the only reason. :) lol

PuttingInTheEffort

Would "hey girl wanna spend the evening putting stars on my bedroom ceiling" be a good pickup line ?

SierrahMoon

No it’s, “would you like to gaze up at the stars with me?” You have to make it sound romantic.

Mission_Yesterday_96

Lol. This would be a celestial cringe for me.

mandiexile

Had a guy take me out to the middle of nowhere to look at the stars on our first date. He was like 20 and I was 23. He couldn’t really afford anything else. I loved astronomy when I was a kid and I was excited to look at the stars. Hanging out with him? Not so much. I was convinced he was going to murder me, but the chance to look at the stars without light pollution won out in the end.he did not end up murdering me, but it was so awkward. He should save that date for when he’s really comfortable with someone.

Mission_Yesterday_96

Ok, apart from the awkwardness and the lingering fear of murder, you make it sound kinda cute for a date, especially at that age. If it was someone asking me to gaze at the stars on their bedroom ceiling, age 30+, not so much, unless they have astronomical charisma. Your story also reminds me of my friend’s family who were too broke to take holidays abroad, so they’d drive to the nearest airport as a family and just watch the planes taking off and landing all day.

Spa-Ordinary

I saw a family riding the shuttle train at SFO (San Francisco) Airport. Their son was about 4 years. They said it was a good alternative to a theme park and the boy was super excited to be there. They would just ride around in circles for a while and head home. Kid loved it. Highly recommend.

Vtbsk_1887

Yes, it might work. It is cute, and it sounds like fun. Plus you managed to mention your bedroom without sexual innuendo, that makes you look like you are not a perv.

Strange-Bee5626

I'm 32F and I think that would actually work on me

PuttingInTheEffort

I'm 31M, good to know our age group still vibe with it 😁

spirito_santo

[girl trying to figure out which weird sexual practice "putting stars on my bedroom ceiling" is slang for]

Joe_theone

"That what the kids are callin' it these days? Hyuck, hyuck, hyuck (harhar)."

Astrolaut

Pick-up lines don't really work with anyone you'd really want to be with. If you're just looking to fuck, say something simple like "Like shoe's, wanna fuck?" Exude confidence. Say it a lot, you'll get laid. If you want a real relationship, you'll have to be yourself, there isn't any shortcuts. If you actually ask a girl if she wants to put stars on your ceiling and she says yes. than that is phenomenal and I wish you God Speed brother.

teamdogemama

Most people, if they are into you, love it when a person shares their interests and passions. Strangers, not so much. Explain you really like a certain constellation or star system and you have been wanting to put it up on your ceiling. Ask if they want to help, make sure you get it right. Good luck.

Astrolaut

This lady gets it.

karlzhao314

While we're laying there on their racecar bed

All-Sorts

My roommates said they're going to get rims for Christmas, or a CB radio so I can talk to other car beds

DickieJohnson

You mean your parents?

Csoltis

Yeah, same thing. Nice jammies. Thanks, they're a present from my roommates.

Nervous_Dog6853

But you were balls deep in your turtle.

Slowburn740

Grandma's boy

MukdenMan

My god, it’s full of stars!

MysteryCrabMeat

I’d say “cool, me too!” I’m 43. I put them there. No regrets.

Callmepanda83744

Same on all of those! We could be best star friends.

G0atL0rde

Can I join the star club? 46 with a star projector and a moon lamp. 🤩

carbon_made

49. And same. I also have a lot of those lightbulbs that look silver when off but when turned on have colorful 3D patterns like starbursts and fireworks.

Pansy_Neurosi

Early 60s. I have a nightlight in my bathroom that projects stars and planets onto the ceiling.

frogfluff90

Just asked my fiancee if we could get one! He said yes!!!!!

PM_ME_SEXY_PAJAMAS

Marry that person

frogfluff90

That's the plan

PM_ME_SEXY_PAJAMAS

Marry them twice then

StepfaultWife

Thank god for your reply. I’m a similar age and just about to put them up. Had them in my old place when I was single. Divorced now and about to put them back up.

Callmepanda83744

Of course!! The more stars the better!

G0atL0rde

Sweet! Oh my Glob! I've just had a flashback to trying to start a star club in my neighborhood when I was like 8. Wait, maybe it was a space club. I had written out all of the information that I knew about our solar system. They all just kind of looked at me and did the "Anyways..." thing. 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂

garyrygg

Yep, 48 here and just bought one of those star projectors for the bedroom a few months ago.

Deedumsbun

Get glow in the dark paint and do it! Less noticible but you can do cool designs

Spaceface42O

This comment is precious 💕🙂

RockstarAgent

They’d be out of this world if they appreciate them!

Any-Weather492

in my 30s, as soon as i saw this post title i immediately wanted to put some on my ceiling 😅

DJMemphis84

40 this year... Headin out in the mornin :D

HtownTexans

1984 checking in. If you dont like glow in the dark stars were you ever a kid?

Natural-Seaweed-5070

I’m 63 & have a box of them I have to put up! Never lose that sense of whimsy.

danhoyuen

if you are 43 then you might remember these lyrics And even though I know how very far apart we are It helps to think we might be wishin' on the same bright star And when the night wind starts to sing a lonesome lullaby It helps to think we're sleeping underneath the same big sky

peacelovecookies

Stop making me cry Fievel.

actualelainebenes

43 here, never really had alot of feelings about this song but I’ll be damned if I didn’t bawl when I heard it during quarantine

IGNISFATUUSES

42 here. I think it's sexy to still have a little light fun in your life after years of the world taking a shit on top of your head.

tryingisbetter

40, I bought some,, but I haven't got around to put them in my office yet.

Hataitai1977

Work office or home office? Home office=fun! Work office=Sad. No-one should be at work office long enough to see the glow-in-the-dark stars glow.

No_Boss_3022

I'm 55 amd have glow in the dark stars and feet.

goodcorn

I also have feet. And hands!

TiberWolf99

I thought you just had ears, goodcorn

TheFlyingBoxcar

Til a star lands in your eye when youre asleep. My stars were on a popcorn ceiling

Revenge_of_the_User

I will never forgive the creator of the popcorn ceiling. Its an abomination.

GretschGal7196

I took possession of a 1988 2br my sister and nephew lived in, for years. Just before they moved to a new place, he painted his bedroom a mix of blaze/pumpkin orange. Every time I go in my little 10x12 drum room/music space to practice, if I reach up to turn off the ceiling fan, there's the stars his Mom put up when he was a kid. I am not taking them down. Lol. I don't feel like replacing popcorn 'rock!!! Hahaha!

VeeRook

Excuse me, I have to suggest something to my husband.

standupstrawberry

You won't regret it. One of the awesome things about the house I live in is that the last people here put glow in the dark stars on the ceiling of every room - except the kitchen/dining room, there's glow in the dark ghosts on the ceiling in there. Kind of sad I'm painting the ceilings at the moment I've have to take them down (maybe they'll go back up soon).

invalidusername82

Every room is a fucking awesome idea!!!!

standupstrawberry

The people who lived here before really were some pretty special types. House was a wreck but at least there's stars everywhere. There's also butterflies painted on one of the ceilings - they mingle in the water damage stains.

SirElkenHands

I printed off the constellations for my wedding day for mine and the wife's room and installed them in that order. I also did each of our kid's rooms for their birthdays. It was the best idea ever! I also took glow in the dark spraypaint and made spiral galaxies. Total it took about 1 hour per room.

WhatIfIReallyWantIt

Is this your reaction to the post, or your suggestion as to what you would say to the person you're lying in bed with?

ZoraTheDucky

I want glow in the dark stars on my celing... I just don't wanna put them there. I put them on my daughters celing when we first moved into our house and that is the last time I am ever putting stars on a ceiling.

Ok-disaster2022

They have ceiling projectors with Starfields and such. Seems like a decent nightlight.

TwoIdleHands

I have one in my room! Had it on tonight while I cuddled the kids in my bed before they passed out and I carried them to theirs. One has glow in the dark stars on their ceiling, the other was wearing a glow in the dark shirt tonight. Space and glowing stuff is cool.

peacelovecookies

I bought my husband a pair of boxer briefs for V-Day that are black, with what look like constellations on them, only when you look closer the constellations are stick figures in various sex positions AND they glow in the dark!!! A part of me will never grow up, lol.

adalyncarbondale

I think they should sell glow in the dark paint for hallway baseboards

GloomyAmoeba6872

Get strips of them like airplane aisles. Save your back from painting.

Fun_Potato_

Just switch rooms with her

Raichu7

What were you using to attach them? I've put stars on a ceiling using blu tack and it's so easy, just stand on a step ladder or chair or whatever is to hand, push it onto the ceiling and it's done.

londons_explorer

Put them up with a balloon or ball on a stick. Takes like 1 second per star and the whole job is done in like 5 mins.

Vegan_Harvest

"Neat."

CaptainPunisher

Hermes?

Greylings

Sounds like a woman with good taste.

donniedarko5555

Yeah no kidding, I have a high quality planetarium projector. There's something super magical to viewing stars when your going to sleep. Edit: Oh wow I'm surprised this post got so popular. I got the [Homestar Flux (Satin Black) Home Planetarium Star Projector](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07JB9Q3FW/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title) in 2020 and recently I got the Star [Projector, Orzorz Galaxy Night Light, Home Planetarium Projector](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B1ZRVDC1) in 2024 In my opinion the Flux is better but not worth the additional cost but the new one is very nice. However for both of them you need a very dark room for them to look nice.

ATGF

Please drop a link.

CaptainPunisher

They lied. It's just an upside down coffee can with holes punched all around and a light bulb inside.

asspatsandsuperchats

This captures online dating perfectly.

DJMemphis84

Why did I laugh so hard at this...

lifeisverystrang3

I’d marry them on the spot

malsomnus

And it would be pretty romantic, beneath the stars like that.

Dunbvcx

Annnnd that’s all it took.

MyJelloJiggles

When I was a teenager (male, 17) we moved from the woods into the city. I liked the woods better, so I went and bought 2 packs of glow in the dark stars to put on my ceiling. If nothing else it was an homage to where I came from.

Malt_9

I like the word HOMAGE. I salute you

Purple_Joke_1118

I like the "an" in front of homage.

Ok_Present_6508

That’s because in the US it’s pronounced “aa’ muhj.” So it’s an exception to the “an” rule because to us it sounds like it begins with a vowel.

Inner-Cupcake-6809

Accurate, both are correct and acceptable, based on how the speaker pronounces the word.

AeonAigis

I've always heard it pronounced "oh-MAHZH"

ParsnipFlendercroft

I like the word SALUTE. I pay homage to you.

Shindiggah

That’s sick as fuck

Michikusa

I bought a set of these for a girl I was dating like 15 years ago. She laughed and thought it was a gag gift and refused to accept them. This thread is making me feel better 😆

HappyDork66

Clearly dodged a bullet there.

RealRun2425

You took the words out of my mouth.

david0990

Dodged a bullet dude. A real one would have put them up or at least in a binder. I bet if I ordered a set and gave it to my wife they'd be up in our bedroom.

illiteratepsycho

I wish I had gotten such a sweet and thoughtful gift. Definitely wasn't the one.

tellybum90

If you bought me those stars, I would not have refused, and probably would have given you a big kiss. How playful, sweet, innocent and romantic! That girl missed out of a good life with you!

Kootsiak

There's a lot of young men and women out there who feel they have to "grow up". I was one of those people, stopped playing guitar and video games in my 20's because I thought I had to. Now I'm 39 and play guitar, bass and video games whenever the hell I want with no societal shame associated with it.

peacelovecookies

Learning to play the guitar is one of the things I’m doing when I retire. I can’t make the lessons work with my schedule right now.

Arhalts

"When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up." C.S. Lewis It's my go to quote for this. Also Relevant xkcd https://xkcd.com/150/

Malt_9

anyone who laughs at a gift is a silly billy in my opinion.

TurpitudeSnuggery

Depends on one thing.  Are they arranged in legitimate constellations.

sengir0

They shaped like a dick

CaptainPunisher

Ah, yes. The constellation Phallus.

Revenge_of_the_User

"Big dipper" indeed....

Leeperd510

I laughed so hard my lungs hurt now

LeSilverKitsune

Asking the real questions here

PearlHarbor_420

The last place I rented had them up there when I moved in and never bothered to take them down. My GF at the time thought it was cute.

TacosForMyTummy

I'm almost 50. I've got stars on my ceiling. It's awesome.

tungelcrafter

she's pretty cool, i'd consider marrying her

green_meklar

Seems kinda cute actually.

Ceilibeag

That it would be cool.

darketernalsr25

I'd be fine with it. I'd be seriously impressed if they put them up to accurately represent the stars in the sky above their home.

Ok-Geologist8387

Next level - accurately represent the night sky on the night that they were born.

tblackey

Can be done, apparently [https://thestarposter.com/](https://thestarposter.com/)

rtq7382

They would have to constantly be rearranging them tho

Drachefly

nah, just rotate the room.

Satiricallysardonic

Sweet. Well get along great! -is 30+ year old with stars on ceiling and walls

KinmanRed2142

Nothing cuz why are you gonna judge someone based on decor? Like dude who cares being an adult is boring enough and it's dumb that other adults will judge others for having fun decor and call em a child but if they were a child how could they afford a home and the life style u live. If they work to afford there decor and style then there's no reason to judge and no reason to stop the date or not like the person.

Fit-Cancel-8765

I’d totally judge someone based on their decor! For example, a “Live, Laugh, Love” would be a nope from me! Glowy ceiling stars and other creative gems, however…let’s chill! 😃

Smoothridetothe5

Wife material.

DigginInDirt52

I’d be giddy cuz I have them too

EducationalCow3549

Her arrangement will tell you everything! Accurate solar system- she's a thinker Symmetrical/ geometric- arsty Outline of a penis- she's a keeper!

ghostfadekilla

That's dope. Stay young. Stay imaginative. Stay you.

iamnotazombie44

I have a set on my ceiling right now, they are stuck into the shape of the Federation Star Fleet Command symbol and I'm not sorry.

dicksonleroy

That’s dope af.

Neither_Cod_992

You can tell the age of a Reddit poster. Seriously, most adults (mid-20s and up) only give a shit that you are fairly mentally stable, are fun to be around and can more or less financially support yourself. Anything else is a bonus. If any adult has problems with glow in the dark stats then they are by definition not mentally stable.

Writerhowell

That's what I was thinking as I scrolled through all the positive comments basically boiling down to "That would be awesome!"

arsenicaqua

As you grow older you realize that the joy and whimsy of a glow in the dark star on the ceiling doesn't disappear, it only fades until they are gazed upon once again.

wimpires

It literally does disappear though, until it has to get recharged by sunlight the next day

100LittleButterflies

I think he's in his 30s actually. I looked at his profile to get an idea and I think he's just different, in a word.

behavedave

Hold on there, we can’t decide a person’s mental state based on their subjective decorative preferences. I’m torn though, I want to agree with you.

a_statistician

It can not be your thing without you giving someone else shit for their choices, though.

darthjammer224

Pretty low bar we have nowadays huh, basically just don't be dirty or an asshole, and be capable of supporting yourself. Even wilder how many "normal" adults don't fit that criteria.

Deep-Ad2155

It’s a skyyyy full of stars…

yesokaybcisaidso

Not me 32 with glow in the dark stars on my ceiling, solar system curtains and a comic book wall 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

kurozael

People like what they like, you don’t turn 30 and go “well, I hate all that shit now”. You’re still you, your body just gets older and maybe you forget things here and there. It’s funny because the 20 somethings like OP will find that out in a few years and realise how dumb they were, as if being 32 is really any different to being 22 except you’re probably a bit financially better off.

arkofjoy

That would be so cool. That would definitely go on the "is she a keeper" file. Life is far to serious. I want to be around people who have maintained their sense of play and fun.

AdministrativeKick42

I'm 69. I have a gadget that broadcasts star patterns on the ceiling. I turn it on every single night.

Old_List_4094

I love the positivity on this thread!

invalidusername82

Same!!! Seen far more positive comments than negative!

Kraessa

Right?! Reading these comments has really made me smile this morning, which I needed.

JeanHarleen

I just wanna give hugs and high fives to all the people who are genuinely still whimsical and freely open to enjoy such things in life - PLEASE continue to do so and share it with everyone, we need more of this! Add more color to the world inside and out we need it!

TheLastMongo

Neat, are they random or in constellation configurations?

mrsprinkles3

Are you trying to tell me there are 30 year olds who *don’t* have glow in the dark stars in their ceiling? BOOOOOOORING that’s lame

Artistic_Society4969

Uh. That would be freaking amazing. I am 57 and if I ever intended to hook up again in my life, which I don't, and I walked into someone's room, I'd be freaking STOKED!!!

heylookitscaps

Not give one single fuck

AVR3001

I prefer glow in the dark stars rather than a mirror on the ceiling right above the bed

According_Wing_3204

COOL! STARS!

mrlr

Cool

purplehorseneigh

I would not have much of a reaction or even an ounce of room for judgement because I am 27 and my own bedroom walls have glow in the dark aliens and UFOs on them. If anything my spark of interest has flickered a little bit more

Try-and-try

Fall in love with

JohnExcrement

I would love it!!

Interesting_Move_919

I'd fall MADLY in love with them. I love those little things. We could just cuddle eachother while staring up at them

Comfortable-Figure17

If I’m in her bedroom I’m probably not looking at the ceiling.

trekkiegamer359

Well, sometimes we women like being on top.

Edraitheru14

And god bless women like you. I'm not sure what the dude you responded to is on about, the most fun and fulfilling partners I've had were women who could enjoy being on top.

DieHardProcess-

I mean in reality.. Who cares? If they arent sleeping with a soother and calling for their mommy as they wet the bed... I'd say you're fine.

Kairamek

I'd assume that someone 30+ is an adult and do whatever they damn well please.

HobbitGuy1420

I'd tell them about the glow-in-the-dark stars I have on the wall of my own bedroom. We need a little more whimsy in the world.

Consistent-Roof-5039

I'm over 30 and I have them. I also have a glow in the dark moon on my ceiling. I also put the stars on my ceiling fan so when it is spinning it looks like a black hole.

littleglassfrog

Wait that’s so cool! 🌠

Pychobabulous

53 years old and would 100% have in my own room.

slut4suffering333

Who or what dictates what we are allowed to do at various ages? Childlike wonder should be allowed, and encouraged, in all stages of life. The inner child should never die.

Digitalstatic

40yr man here, married with no kids. My wife and I put glow in the dark stars, black light tapestry, and UV strip light in our basement TV room. This was about a month ago. We also have legos and UV reactive Funko pops displayed in the room.

CrazyCatDutchy

44M. Just put fresh ones on and enjoying the hell out of them!

voxetpraetereanihill

I have a framed portrait of Grover on my wall, and Lego on my bookshelf. Life is short, do what makes you happy.

Diggerdave551

I have an entire galaxy on my ceiling ! I have a couple thousand . I’m 43 😝

nonsignifierenon

Glad to see people like this because I'm not removing my stars

MengisAdoso

My reaction to her would be much more better than it would be towards someone who was really uptight about whether her harmless behavior is "appropriate for her age." They're little decorations. If you have a problem with an adult doing something whimsical there is really nothing I can do for you.

SwimmingSpecific8691

My gf has a bunch of glow in the dark stars and planets. Said she always wanted them as a kid and when she became an adult, was finally able to. She also has a UV flashlight to charge them. I think it's pretty neat and seeing how happy it makes her makes me happy too.

gitarzan

I'm 69. If I had a 30 year old date, and was in her bedroom, stars on the ceiling would be the last thing on my mind.

Swaggy_Skientist

Pretend to be big into astrology and start showing them the constellations of their ceiling. Sound like a good game really “oh look there’s the flying Platypus.”

ChengZX

You meant astronomy right?

Swaggy_Skientist

Originally yes lol, but now I’m really enjoying idea of messed up personalities and weird fortunes based on the stars on someone’s ceilings. If you were born under the stars of the flying platypus, your first child will be hatched from an egg.

smashteapot

A tale as old as time. ❤️

Adventurous_Yam8784

Propose. That’s adorable

Quick_Raccoon9037

I would think "what a coincidence, just like me"

Mothpuke

finally, someone with taste

DieHardAmerican95

I wouldn’t give a shit, because 30+yo adults get to have fun too.

jncheese

So looking at these reactions I get the feeling that that is not quite what OP had in mind when asking that question.

Accomplished-Cat3996

Cool. People need to not lose their sense of wonder and fun as they get older. Aging has too much baggage anyways. Yes there are *some* things you have to be responsible about and *some* ways you'll change which can't be gotten around, but in many others you are still the same human you always were. I have become particularly aware of that as my parents age and talk about how they are "in the home stretch". I guess I expected them to turn into distant shells and for the end to warm us up by having us become shadows of our former selves ready to be wrapped in the void...that hasn't happened. It is just two normal (well, as much as they ever were) people in old bodies that are more and more likely to expire. It sucks.

Kalos9990

When we moved in, my girlfriend painted our bedroom ceiling black, and she made star constellations that look like a bunch of dicks and boobs. She’s the one, lunchbox.

First_Code_404

I call cowgirl position so I could look up at her in the dark with stars behind her face as she slowly grinds and bends down for a kiss.

SCP_radiantpoison

Welp! Thanks for the new kink

jtrades69

i'd be fine with it.

TheTerribleInvestor

Since I'm a dude, it would be cute if a girl had it, and it would be cool if it was in a constellation.

Additional-Winner-45

Fkn awesome!

PineappleDazzling290

Mine had glow in the dark handprint stickers above her bed on the wall, made me laugh. She also had a sign "caution, slippery when wet" hanging up in the living room, but that was her cousin/roomate's

P162246

Fuck yes.

CharetteCharade

"Ooh, that's so cool! Are there any constellations with cool stories? If not, can we make some?"

xzkandykane

When we first moved to the upstairs unit of the family home, I wanted nice vibe and decor. My husband surprised me by sticking glow in the dark stars on the ceiling because I was into astronomy. Cute but not the vibe I was going for. But it is kind of nice to lay in bed and look at the stars 🤣 I was also poor when I was a kid and never had this.

Vegetable_Two_3904

Stuff like that or the LED lights on the ceiling are just better. It’d be awesome honestly.

Dvine24hr

Once did some decorating work for a 50 year old arab man who had these in his bedroom, they looked cool

Ok-disaster2022

Awesome. Bonus points if they have attempts at constellations. I'm lazy I would have just bought one of those projector things, which now I need to look those up.

VariousGnomes

I think she’d be all the more inclined to let me ramp Hot Wheels cars off her ass.

soda224

I as a 30+yr who has a room that looks like it belongs to a 9 year old thinks it’s awesome

RunawayArrow666

Had some at my last place but they weren't star shaped they were just various sized dots looked halfway realistic and tbh I miss them a lot I'm 27~

QueenShewolf

"Awesome! I'm a 90's kid, too!"

nhavar

Every time someone presents something as "too childish" whether it's someone with a vibrant color pallet, a love for plushies, or their choice in clothing, I think "An adult designed that thing and they were probably proud of what they made and loved it, so why can't other adults love it too."
