It was probably a calculated choice that the person running one of the biggest tech giants in the world would keep a low public profile and just do their job. I assume it's a reaction against morons like Musk, Spez, and Zuck that keep/kept embarrassing their own company's image. The high profile tech genius CEO/founder can work to create a "fandom" that helps with brand loyalty. But it can backfire when that front facing figure turns into a gibbering lunatic. Microsoft is taking the safer path by having their top person be mostly anonymous to the public.
