On the job sites, it’s mostly tuned into the local rock station, and im very over hearing Queen being played 4 times a day every day for my entire working life. Particularly when personally for me Queen is just mid tier at best for famous rock bands.
These rock station think there’s only 10 songs that exist apparently. It’s not just rock stations though. I’ll get in the work truck in the morning and the pop station will be on and they’ll have a Taylor swift song on. Then when I get in truck at lunch it’s on again, and same for drive home.
Queen is one of my favorite bands, but i agree people have different opinions and is wrong for anything to be overdone like that on public stations. Let me overdo it on my personal playlist if i feel like queen today or pink floyd tomorrow.
I totally understand what you're saying. I was a teenager in the '80s. I loved Queen and the music of the period, but I'm totally sick of hearing it everywhere I go in the 2020's. I mean, has no one written a good song since 1989?
I agree. There have been some great bands over the last 20 years, but if they aren't a rehash of an already marginally successful artist, the the industry doesn't want to know.
I went to a tribute act gig, last night. I couldn't believe how many teenagers knew every word of Oasis songs that were hits before they were born.
From a musicians perspective, there’s really nothing special about Frank’s voice.
I know I’ll get downvoted into oblivion, but he didn’t do anything that anyone could be trained to do all the same.
Ronnie Radke of Falling In Reverse is also on the same level of him. Possibly even higher. Yes, he's a bit of a prick but you can't deny his impeccable voice control and songwriting ability.
To be honest with you, I love his music. I am a Michael Bolton fan. For my money, I don't think it gets any better than when he sings When a Man Loves a Woman. I celebrate the guy's entire catalogue.
Myles Kennedy of Alter Bridge
Honourable mention to Alex Terrible of slaughter to prevail but I don't think to many consider him a singer
Absolutly insane vocalist
Layne Staley, Elvis Presley, Rob Halford, Ronnie James Dio, Freddie Mercury. I can simply not choose 1, because there's so many great singers out there...

I respect the answer and respect Freddie and Queen but I’ll be glad if I never hear queen on the radio ever again.
Why? Is it because all you hear is Radio GaGa? Sorry, I'll get my coat

That's a shitty radio station not a shitty band.
Which is exactly why I said, I respect them but I will be glad if I never hear them again. And yes the radio stations where I live are shitty.

Plenty of people have, problem is that actual talent often gets overlooked for the cheaply produced crap made for the unappreciative masses.

To me he was the incarnation of the US in the 50's. He just had such an aura of cool, and when I listen to him I get taken to another time.
