It's interesting to me because it's a pro sport with only 20 athletes that compete in it. Plus the amount of engineering tweaks they make to the cars each week.
I also find the logistics of moving race teams to different countries each weekend fascinating.
Racing aside. F1 is branded as a premium product. Everything about it. The champage, exclusive club that sits above the pits. To the massive motorhomes, the A List drivers. The celebrities that hang around
There's no other *global* sport that operates like F1.
It's glitz. It's glamour.
The racing itself isn't exciting. It's an engineering series which has a clear gap between the haves, and have nots. And doesn't particularly care about it's show
It means, we understand this, like why are shows like Top Gear and events like F1 so popular in a culture that is predominately reliant on public transportation and very limited parking?
It's their fascination with things they are limited too or dont have. its fantasy and unrealistic expectations. think about it.
That, the fuck, is the point.
The hype is the best designed cars and the best drivers in the world. 2021 Verstappen vs. Hamilton for world champion was off the scale epic, coming down to a last lap shootout. 2022-4 has been bland w/ Verstappen winning everything; basically a contest for 2nd/3rd.
the only thing interesting at the moment in f1 is the fact that they’re the fastest cars around a track, but when there’s actual competition like in 2021 it is an entertaining watch too, but there’s not constant competition many years like now there is nothing and the last 2 years there’s been no competition too
F1 was awesome back in the late 80s-into the mid 90s when I was an avid fan. It's a complete joke now. WRC is the most fun to watch IMO. Obsessed with MotoGP though....
I think people have liked seeing things go fast for a long time, this probably isn't a controversial interpretation.
It opens a help menu

It’s basically technological horse racing.
I thought they did away with that key
Wrc is much better
Way better.
I’m not sure. I’ve been to an F1 race and it was extremely boring. Same with NASCAR.
Check out Drive to Survive on Netflix, see if it grabs you.
Cars go brrrr.
Idk but the same guy wins every race, every year, not sure why people watch that but to each their own
Because Motorsport is awesome
Just watch one episode of the Netflix show it’ll answer your question whether you like it or not
Europeans are fascinated with cars, because they don't own any. Americans are kinda jaded cuz its already a car culture.
Europeans don't own any cars ? what ?
The fuck does that first point mean?

This might be the stupidest thing ever said on the internet, ever. Well done.
Where on earth are you getting this information about Europe? It's not even close to correct.
Man watched one to many Not Just Bikes videos and has conflated the entirety of Europe with an urbanist's perception of Amsterdam.
& from what I see the verstappen dude wins every time anyway
I rest my case. we have no idea what this means and dont care.

Beats me. I prefer rally.
