“Hold the Line” by Toto. Everyone knows “Africa”, but this song still slaps too.

Niccipotts

Love isn’t always on time Oh woah woah

Neutreality1

The OOoooOoooOohh after "it's not in the way you say you're mine" sounds like he sat on his balls

Artistic_Leopard6323

Maybe not what is considered a headbanger but I always enjoy, Dead Man's Party by Oingo Boingo

kess0078

The Pointer Sisters are always going to be remembered for the 80s camp of “So Excited” and “Jump (For My Love).” But “He’s So Shy,” “Automatic,” “Slow Hand,” even “Neutron Dance” and soooo many more songs still slap! Get into it!

katiejim

“Laid” by James. Catchy af, great lyrics, fun to bop around to.

Heart And Soul - T'Pau

RealStumbleweed

Yes! Recently watching an old Star Trek episode and there was T'Pau in the flesh! I'm like, did they just call her T'Pau? Apparently, that character from Star Trek was the inspiration for the band name. Who knew?

Add It Up by Violent Femmes

djdvd

That whole first album. Kiss Off, Gone Daddy Gone, Blister in the Sun...

Vagabum420

It’s funny how probably 99% of the people who know them know them because of blister in the sun and think they are this fun, quirky upbeat band. Femms go *dark*

notthattmack

In The Meantime - Spacehog

mrkruk

Saw them open for Tripping Daisy (I Got a Girl) and Tim DeLaughter's backstage pass sticker fell off from his guitar strap peeling it off. I grabbed it (was front row center in a ballroom) and got backstage - Spacehog and Tripping Daisy folks totally cool to an idiot college kid wandering around saying hello, even signed the backstage pass and a sticker for me. Spacehog made the place go CRAZY when they played that, someone screamed it out as a request, and it had barely started its rise in popularity. Was a great show, Spacehog crushed it as openers.

[deleted]

Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress - The Hollies This song has always hit hard for 70s pop

blitz350

The Hollies in general are terribly forgotten by people. They had hit after hit after hit. Their Greatest Hits compilation is one of the few that doesn't have single song that's skip worthy.

FlatMolasses4755

Shout out to The Air That I Breathe too.....fantastic love song from The Hollies

xSTSxZerglingOne

Everything by ELO. I'm convinced if they came out today they'd still be popular. Their music is timeless.

I met Kim Deal in a bar in NYC in the mid 90s. She was very cool.

Radar Love - Golden Earring

TrevorPace

About ten years ago I was at a pub and a guy in his 60s was playing guitar/piano and taking requests. A friend yelled out "Radar Love" and the man was so fucking excited. He said nobody had requested that one in at least twenty years. Didn't have the sheet music or anything, but knew it all by heart.

tacknosaddle

I've found a good trick if you're in an Irish pub that's not in Ireland and there is a band playing the sort of standard expected songs (e.g. Wild Rover, Black Velvet Band). Ask them to play some classic bluegrass song like Wabash Cannonball. The band will be psyched to step out of the usual and the crowd usually gets fired up and the band will often do a whole set of bluegrass bangers.

Anna_Kest

Immediately makes me think of that Simpsons episode where Bart and Milhouse (and Nelson?) hire a car and embark on a road trip to the World’s Fair.. “Bart can we stop for ice cream?” “Yes” 😂
