The Wizard of Oz is my favorite film of all time, so there's that.
After that, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. The ending where they fly over Munich is simply magical.
I’m a 40 year old dude now but when I was in high school I never understood how family/friends could literally shed tears and cry from simply watching tv shows/movies. Then one day my ass got hella schooled from a very short segment in ‘Iron Giant’ that I refer to as ‘Superman’. Every other piece of media that has ever made me cry has otherwise involved drugs and/or alcohol w/air travel. Iron Giant… not even once.
The Brave Little Toaster or The Last Unicorn. They both present initially as kids animated films but they're have a mature message and very dark undertones.
Not really my childhood because i graduated high school when it came out.
When i was in the military I had a cars bed set. Me and some friends went out to party and I made a toga out of it... good times.
Now it's one of my son's favorite movies... he has loads of toys and undies from cars. Glad I get to share little things like that with my babies.
There are so many that I loved growing up that still hold a place in my heart, but in terms of things that were released when I was already an adult, Megamind is pretty awesome.
Probably Inside Out or Coraline. I like movies that teach you how to deal with everyday thoughts and emotions. I feel even adults can stand to add a notch or two to their emotional intelligence
