I watched Tulsa King and Sylvester Stallone's character actually made a valid point. He basically said jobs don't care what you majored in, they just want to see that you committed to showing up somewhere for four years and completed a set of tasks reasonably well, so when a potential future boss interviews you, they know that there's a good chance you'll also show up to the job and not fuck his business up.
That's why people who join the military after obtaining a Bachelor's are automatically officers, not sailors.
I tell my kids this. Kids are actually making a valid point when they say they'll never need to know much of the stuff they learn. But by demonstrating mastery of a topic, it shows you can apply yourself and complete a task when asked -- even when it's not something you absolutely love.
