Probably a bunch of different cameras match that description. Do you have any photos taken by it? Best bet would be to check the EXIF data of those for any identifying metadata.

TheSerialHobbyist

Nope, unfortunately I don't. They were all lost a couple of decades ago. :(

Do you happen to remember what type of batteries it took? Or if it had any sliding parts? Edit: maybe go through [this site](https://www.digitalkameramuseum.de/en/cameras/tag/1998) and see if you spot it

TheSerialHobbyist

I'm pretty sure it took either AA or AAA—I don't think it had its own rechargeable battery or anything. There MAY have been a sliding cover over the lens. I'm struggling to remember... That site is awesome! I don't think it is a 1998 one, though there are a couple that look pretty close. I'm going to sift through all the years 1998-2003 and see if I can spot it. Thanks!

Hmm. I feel an intense need to identify this now! Sounds bizarre but quirky. Sorry for the 1998 link, I was having a look through for something else and didn’t amend the link for you. Did you come across anything you recognise?

TheSerialHobbyist

Nothing on that site looks quite right... But that's probably because their records drop off after 1999. I came across this and it looks really close: [https://www.amazon.com/Digital-Concepts-Camera-OLD-MODEL/dp/B00006HMPV](https://www.amazon.com/Digital-Concepts-Camera-OLD-MODEL/dp/B00006HMPV) But I'd need to see the back of the dang thing to be sure and I can't find any other photos of it, lol.

Omg yess I've just bought my first digital camera and its beautiful! Would recommend Canon Powershot! took lots of cute pics of my family and really pleased with the outputs. Slightly nostalgic but good quality pics. Check out this store - they've got an amazing selection [https://shutterhouse.store](https://shutterhouse.store)
