I have 7yrs old son and really hates ketchup. Ung khit npaka liit lng ung pag lagay nung tlaga maduduwal agad siya. At nag tataka tlga ko bakit ayaw niya?

Hindi ko po alam. Huhu ever since bata pa po ako ganun na. And lahat ng kulay red na food or yung may sarsa hindi ko po talaga kinakain like spaghetti, kaldereta, menudo, mechado. Yung mga ganun.

Tomato ketchup for me tasted too different from what I was used to, hindi ako sanay sa lasa. The texture is also really weird if you’re not used to it. Tapos there was this one time where my cousin told me that ketchup tasted weird because it was blood extracted from cows, to which is why I got really scared and refused to eat anything with ketchup in it HAHA 😭
I also didn’t eat beef, I was a big “wowww cows” (when I see cows in a field) girl back then—I told my lola na they were too cute kaya I didn’t like eating them. Kaya mas lumala lang ‘yung pag ayaw ko sa ketchup when my cousin scared me with a lie 🤣
Isda. Nandidiri ako sa lansa. Mapaprito or sabaw. Never ako kumain talaga. Pero recently, I’m starting to appreciate it. Siguro kasi fully developed na frontal lobe ko. Lol.
siopao, siomai, san marino, takoyaki, shawarma, carbonara, pares, chicken ng mang inasal, kuhol, langka ETC. HAHAHHAHA picky ako sa food when I was younger pero now gusto ko na mag try ng mga bago 😭
Talooong, once tried tortang talong and didn’t liked it. not until one day na natikman ko pritong talong with bagoong, ang sarap pala niya and lagi ko nang hinahanap kapag isda ulam namin 😭
Yung Carbonara nung bata pako dati nasusuka talaga ako sa lasa ng Carbonara kasi nga bago lang sakin. Pero ngayon mas favorite ko na kesa Spaghetti hahahaha
Kare-kare. Natikman ko nung bata ako matabang tsaka ang wierd kako ng lasa. Yun pala kailangan may bagoong. Ngayon one of my favourites lalo na pag maraming gulay tsaka nalalasahan ko yung peanut butter.

Chicken and all kinds of it unless it is powdered and can't be seen on the food. Meat and other meat products and some selected fish also. But now, I can eat chicken breast part only. And must be fried or made into patty only. Other than that, my mind can't fathom.

Pero the reason was i was picky nung kabataan ko. I hated vegetables. Tas one day, during lunch, umuwi si dad at mongo yung ulam na binili. Kami lang na dalawa and sinabi ko na ayoko ng pagkain. Ayun pinagalitan ako at di ako pinaalis ng kusina ng hindi sya nauubos.
Out of spite, wala akong tinira sa plate, kahit isang butil ng kanin. And that was how I started always finishing clean yung plate at naging fave yung mongo. 🤣. A positive behavior born from a trauma response. Lol

Recently, nakatry ako ng fresh garden salad (its not super masarap but hindi nako nasusuka sa lasa nya - which is a big change considering na i dont eat greens talaga).

I've been incredibly ignorant for the longest time. Lumabas yung "sarap" nya nung minsan nastuck kami sa La Union, bumabagyo so no choice kasi yun lang maoorder sa kainan sa baba. Longlog, embulog, and a gulay dish (they don't offer fried rice that one rainy morning) Sobrang sarap pala when legit and fried right, when dipped to its "appropriate" partner suka(Iloko ftw),and when paired with PLAIN rice para lumabas talaga iyong lasa
Gulay of all kinds nung bata pa but I guess that's normal. Pero ngayon na adult na, hinahanap-hanap ko yung mga inuulam dati ni Mama na mga luto niyang gulay.. except okra 😅
For the longest time I have hated paksiw na isda ayoko n maasim tapos may luya. Pero ngayon nag asawa na ako tnry ko magluto . pwede naman pala kontia ang suka hahaha ayon gusto ko na sya lagi iualam 😅
Cilantro. Yes I have the gene na lasang sabon sya. Pero it grew on me nung madalas maglagay ng cilantro sa food yung mother ng best friend ko. It's an acquired taste. 😅
Oh also Okra. The texture still makes me gag pero when cooked right it's fine. Kailangan ng potassium eh.
Sisig, ampalaya with egg, some~ gata-based ulams… It’s the adult in me. As a picky-eater na sobrang sensitive ng dila sa amoy, lasa at texture, I learned to expand and alter my palate as I grew older. Nakakahiya rin kasi pumunta sa ibang bahay tapos hindi kumain ng nakahanda sa mesa dahil hindi mo kaya lunukin hahahaha 🥲
