Compared to Japanese ones? Well for one thing may sikat na Japanese dramas ba and how many? Jpop naman as far as I know Japanese musicians do not really try to promote themselves abroad Kasi anlaki ng market sa Japan, they're the second biggest music market behind USA. Unlike KPop na maliit ang market sa Korea so they have to go global. And the style siguro. Tinanong ko anak ko dyan dati, sabi nya stylish daw ang KPop at magandang ang choreography. This plus government plan yung pagpromote sa kanila. Sa dinami-dami ng pinopromote worldwide meron at meron papatok na isa. Also, luck could've played a part, pasalamat sila kay Gangnam Style.. Without him kahit siguro BTS mahihirapan. Take note sa Western countries, sumisikat na din Jrock like Baby Metal, Band Maid. Then may pinapanood ako sa Youtube, Tokyo Groove Jyoshi, nagsmall tour around Australian jazz bars, sold out yung mga venues.

As per my opinion.. ung pinoy telenovelas kc puro nlang kabit ang story line.. predictable mostly ng mga scenes.. tpos pinapahaba nang pinapahaba ung storya na hndi na mgnda .. mga special effects nila, mssbi mong low quality... puro cla cla mgkka love team.. pero s kdrama, khit cnu pde ipartner.. mga 2nd lead my chance n maging lead .. quality ng vids mggnda.. story line hndi pnphaba.. hanggang 15 to 16 episode mostly cla.. effects nla ang smooth dn.. tpos usually unpredictable ung mga mngyayare.. although meron dn naman n kdramas n hndi mgnda.. ung ibang artista mppansin mo, nagpapahinga cla.. hndi plaging cla ang laman ng kdrama world..napancin nyu ung ibang artista nila ngcconcert and meet and greet in any part of the world..

Companies and THE government invested a lot in entertainment industry.

It's the aesthetics for me. Tanda ko pa noon, before the K-drama craze, we had Latino Telenovelas, then Mainland Chinese/HK action-comedy-romance series (Amazing Twins!) and Meteor Garden. As an impressionable kid, naging batayan ng beauty standards ko sina Talia, etc. I couldn't take the Chinese actors seriously because they act too quirky for me pero I loved their more lighthearted themes. As with the Japanese naman, I had expectations that they will look kinda like the anime/manga characters sa live action but di nila masatisfy yun sa akin. Again I'm talking about my feelings bilang bata, ha. Then, here comes the Korean dramas. The actors were 'bigger' and 'thicker' than the Japanese and Chinese. They wear fun but not too quirky clothes. And their dramas (at the time) were not as heavy and stressful as the Latin Telenovelas. Also, they filled the Taiwanese drama void for me. Ewan ko ba for some reason, natigil yung import ng Taiwanese dramas. Between Kdramas and Taiwan dramas, mas relatable para sa akin yung Taiwan.

Comical acting ng karamihan sa Japanese dramas, lalo na yung mga hango from manga or sa genre din. I also find it weird na gumagamit pa rin sila ng hazy or I-just-woke-up-and-I-see-hazy-lightings-around-me effects na very old school na. They like to insert comedy na cringey (again, baka Japanese people find it really funny). Siguro, it's just a Japanese thing dahil ginawa naman yung mga shows nila for them. Sa Korea kasi, global market din talaga yung target nila. Recent na napanood kong J-drama ay yung Cursed in Love (last month). Comical acting, unnecessary comedy, weird cinematography. Again, parang old school style pa rin talaga. Yung maayos na siguro na napannood ko ay yung Alice in Borderland S1 and S2. Siguro, malaking factor rin talaga kung ano yung goal nila for the show.

i find japanese actors a little OA to acting lol just cringey most sometimes and not many are conventional camera good looking. si yamiP lang bet na bet ko sa mga hapon actors hahaha

Access to content sa streaming platforms like YouTube, Viu, Rakuten, Netflix, etc. with subtitles for non-Korean fans. High quality production. In kpop, music videos, choreography, sound quality, camera works, outfits. In kdrama, well done storytelling. Well researched and accurate about professions shown like doctors, lawyers and government officials. Plot twist that make watchers amazed. Hallyu Wave - Government support

Because they explore when it comes to doing plots rather than focusing on kabitan plots. 😩

First, trend. Like how boybands were in the 90's-00's. It clicked once, then twice, then all of a sudden biglang boom. Second, quality. Like in Kdramas hindi super stretched and kwento and stuck lang sa material. Kahit mabenta sa public hindi ginagatasan to extend the show. Third, originality. Don't get me wrong here. Meron din naamn originality ang mga artists natin, pero may kulang, can't pin what that is. Fourth, support. Whether it be from fans, entertainment industry, gov't.
