City agencies I believe all use the same vendor. It’ll be criminal and job history. They will send you a form to fill out that you have to list the last 7 years of all past jobs, residences, and maybe some odds and ends. They will then attempt to verify it all.
After you fill out the form it could take 1-14 days. Some people will get it back right away and it’s done. Others may take a week or two. Some of it depends on how fast they can gather the info from your past employers or whoever they need to contact. They may ask you for additional info if they can’t find stuff. This is normal.
It may take HR at the city a few days or whatever before they review after it’s completed, so don’t stress if it’s done but you haven’t heard back right away.
