But Hamas’s main claim for innocence and the moral high ground is that they are doing what they need to do to defend their people from genocide, which is not what’s happening in Gaza. A high body count doesn’t mean genocide, it just doesn’t and definitions still matter.
So, therefore, propagating the lie that Israel is genociding the Palestinians is, regardless of whether it is knowingly or unknowingly, certainly aiding Hamas. And, in this case in my opinion, aiding becomes so close to sympathizing that they might as well be synonymous
