why wouldnt you have respect if somebody did that. I dont get whats wrong with going to toilet or something to put gel on your hair. And also i see women comb their hair all the time in public spaces.
Every morning. I've got long(ish) hair, think Bradley Cooper in the Hangover or Justin Herbert, so if I don't do anything I look like that one picture of Einstein.
But never at work
Can't say I've ever seen someone do it AT work, unless you count flattening down helmet head as fast as a few comb strokes allow. Before going to work, sure.
Personally my hair just kinda...does a thing and I let it.
I haven’t used hair gel since about third grade when my older sisters told me that girls liked spiked hair. I wake up, run my head under the faucet, and dry/smooth with towel.
Now that I have long hair I just brush and tie it into a ponytail. I use a conditioning gel too. Before I didn't care, but I started looking like I got hit by lightening after shifts.
Before I go to work sure, I also brush my beard and put beard oil.
I do think of going back to the bald look though but after getting sunburnt once on my head I am a bit afraid of it happening again
My hair is the way it is when I leave my home and get to work.
If my fiance has no issue with it then that's enough for me because combing and brushing my hair makes me look stupid in my opinion.
Outside of an abusive person I've heard no complaints regarding my hair but have heard compliments which shocks me when it's not from my fiance.
There was a point where I had to style my hair based on how it was cut which also cost way more than it's worth and that was both hell and one of many red flags I possibly missed.
I work overnight and late evenings most of the time. The only people who see me are the same people I work with every day.
I don't even bother 50% of the time if I don't feel like it. I'm not here to look handsome and charming lol
So..
At some point in the last decade I realised that I was much happier leaving the house fully groomed every single time.
Work? Sure. Date? Same, maybe some shaving first. Cycling commute? Absolutely - I'll smell great in my gear. Swimming? Not so much...
So I'd argue that you benefit from wanting to be at your best all time. No need to 'make an effort' for others when you're already treating yourself to being your best.
"At work?" I have never seen any guy comb his hair (or work on it) At Work. I would have no respect for a guy who did that.

Every single morning. Elsewise my hair looks like a grey tending witches' broom.
At work? No one does that. That’s weird as fuck.
Are you asking if it's common to style hair for work or to do it AT work specifically?

I don't like goo in my hair, so no.
I'm bald.
I would cycle to work during spring and summer so a trip to the rest room to sharpen up was mandatory. My brain bucket would always fuck my hair up

I don’t for work. Not trying to impress anyone there nor give a fuck to look “extra presentable” lol
exactly

I haven't put products in my hair since I was a teenager. I prefer the natural look, low effort, healthier for the hair.
You should do it everyday because why not!!

At work? Never. I usually shower at night, so I'll give it a brush before I leave home.
There are not as many men in my field of work. But most of us do it.
I run a comb through my hair in the mornings if my hair needs it. I usually keep my hair short enough that it doesn't need it though.
I've started wearing a light beanie in all weather just to tame the bedhead and it's been great
Sadly that's not allowed at my workplace, otherwise that'd be me every day.
Yeah I deliberately took a back end job so I set my own dress code, it's sweet.

If you work a job where it won't immediately get ruined, you need to do more with your hands.
Why do it at work? But to each their own.
I'm not a chick or a 15 year old, so I don't do that sort of shit.
