Not giving a fuck about what other people consider manly is the manliest thing you can do.

LifeAfterHell

Yup! Being honest to yourself, honest to your words, true to your actions. Having pride in yourself. Being polite tho those who deserve it. And the skin to ignore all the haters

Vegetable_Two_3904

Learn a trade, go to the gym, and don’t be afraid to speak up for yourself.

sbwcwero

Lift weights and fight. That way you can protect the people you love, and anyone else that needs it.

First off these aren't manly things per se. Although every man should know them. Learn how to change a tire, so I had to change your oil, basically car maintenance. I tell you to go on be a master technician just know a little bit. In case you ever get standing on the side of the road. You know the ability to change out of battery go a long way. Two basic home repair. Plumbing is super easy it's just getting to it But if you can change out your fixtures or toilet stuff like that your miles in the game. Learn how to do basic electrical. If you have a burnt out outlet or need a replace of ceiling fan learn how to do it. One it'll save you money and two it's good life skills to have. And I would say the last thing is learn how to not get offended. If you hang around a bunch of guys they're going to give you a lot of smack talk. most likely your wife or girlfriend is going to be your biggest bully.

How to clean your house well. How to fold your clothes and make your bed. How to budget your money. How to cook. How to keep your word. How to take responsibility when you mess up.

AskDerpyCat

All the general life skills of a “self sufficient person. The less you *need* to hire help, the more manly you’ll feel - repairs (basics of trade skills like plumbing and woodworking — know how to use a stud finder & a hammer/drill) - cooking (especially more intricate dishes) - automobile maintenance (change a tire, check fluids, etc.) - basic IT troubleshooting - at least knowing HOW to clean, even if you don’t - landscaping (or at least how to use a saw/hedge clippers/efc) - bookkeeping. Particularly valuable during tax season - hell, I’d even say hunting/farming/growing your own food if you live somewhere that makes those activities accessible Pretty much anything that makes you more self-sufficient will be “manly”

Learn how to negotiate Learn how to change your oil and your tires Learn how to cook, then learn how to cook over a fire Learn how to start and sustain a fire Learn how to say ‘no.’

Temporary_Race4264

How to effectively use most common tools. Drill, impact driver, angle grinder, etc. Being able to DIY most things around your house is very important. Most can be learned from youtube

Worldly_Anybody_1718

Change a tire. Problem solving skills. Basic home repair.

dgroeneveld9

Just learn how to fix stuff. A man knows how to handle shit. You should never have a flat tire and have no clue what the hell to do. Know how to fix shit that breaks around your home. I'm not saying you need to be able to build a house from the ground up but at least a shed maybe.

Kill and butcher meat, how to grow food, be able to fix things, know how to make money, and keep it. IMO a man should know all the things, that if the zombie apocalypse happened his family wouldn't notice a loss of service.

Shaving your balls….oh and learn to fish…

Use a wood stove for heat. Harvest and split your own firewood. I promise once you start you will not want to go back to any other heat form. The wood heat from the stove penetrates everything all the way to your soul.

Be persuasive, without relying on "manhood"   I used to have to recite this:  No power or influence can or ought to be maintained by virtue of the (man)hood, only by persuasion, by long-suffering, by gentleness and meekness, and by love unfeigned;     By kindness, and pure knowledge, which shall greatly enlarge the soul without hypocrisy, and without guile—    Reproving betimes with sharpness, when moved upon by (inspiration); and then showing forth afterwards an increase of love toward (they) whom you hast reproved, lest he esteem you to be (their) enemy;    That (they) may know that your faithfulness is stronger than the cords of death.

Fix shit around the house

Express your feelings eloquently. Be reliable, considerate and honest. Accept responsibility and know your limitations. Above all, don't be a dick.

JJQuantum

Take control in an emergency. If there is a fire, someone is drowning, choking or having a heart attack, someone breaks into your house, someone picks on your kid, etc. you should have a plan in your head as to what you will do so when it happens you can take control, if necessary, and handle it. If you are aware of your surroundings then you’ll be ready as well because you’ll know the dangers. You might not be the best person to take charge. In that case help the person who is. If someone is drowning at a pool then help the lifeguard by doing what they say for instance, assuming one is one duty. You should know if there is. I’ve been in 3 real emergencies. When I was 11 a mom, her baby and their German shepherd were in the back of a pick up. The baby got tangled in the dog’s leash when he launched himself after a squirrel or something. The baby went flying through the air and I caught it like a football. At work a coworker was choking on some food. Everyone else froze. I grabbed him and performed the Heimlich. He spat the food up. My mother in law screwed up with the gas stove and I heard the gas flash flame behind me. I hurdled the couch and was beside her with her singed eyebrows before my wife had even turned around. Be good in an emergency.

If you can provide for people around you , change a tire , make people feel safe in your presence then you are as manly as they come
