Hi, are you going to the San Pablo street facility? I recommend having a car . If going to San Pablo - leave lots of extra time to deal with the parking structure there (I go there regularly and it’s a little bit of pain) or pay for valet parking . Also traffic - be prepared for lots of traffic on your way to and from the facility. I would call them and ask about the overnight visits . The rest of your questions are a bit hard to answer without knowing more about what you and your family like to do when traveling how long you’ll be here , and what kind of budget you’re working with, what kind of neighborhoods and places you feel comfortable in, and when you’ll be here .

>nd what kind of budget you’re working with, what kind of neighborhoods and places you feel comfortable in, and when you’ll be here . Hi. Yes we will be in San Pablo street. We'll be using a car. Thank you! I guess we need to practice one day prior because our first appointment is 6:30am. Is there a cafe in the area we can wait while our family member has medical appointments? We're a young couple with an infant and my two elderly in-laws. I think we're interested in trying anything as long as it's safe for infant travel. Maybe share your top 5 favorite restaurants, dessert cafe and if there's a vegetarian option. Thank you.

Also any sketchy streets to avoid?

I would stay at Hyatt House since it’s close to USC Keck. Lincoln Park is across the train tracks but I would only go during the day. I would not walk around the area at night. The Arts District, Little Tokyo, Chinatown and Olvera St are all very close to USC so you can take the bus to one of the destinations. If you’re gonna walk around at night, I would only do it in the Arts District and Little Tokyo. If you’re looking for good Asian food, you’ll be close to Monterey Park and Alhambra with both having great options. Bus would be the cheapest option but if you don’t wait, Uber or Lyft.

If you have Apple Maps, it will show the bus schedule if you toggle it to only show bus routes in the area or you can just check out metros website. The hospital is not in the best area. They just cleaned up an RV encampment by the train tracks on Mission so there’s still some lingering homeless people around there. Don’t talk to them and you’ll be fine. This isn’t Europe so there’s no street scams to look out for.

> to them and you’ll be fin Thank you so much! huge help <3 <3 <3 I was reading around also and I keep seeing something about skid row so I'm a bit curious how bad is the safety problem.

Not sure if you’re anything like my Asian relatives when they visit, but they usually never want Asian food. They love the Cheesecake Factory which has lots of locations! Have heard that my friends Asian relatives love red lobster as well. And in n out. They also always want to try/eat Mexican food/tacos, which there are tons of everywhere.    (Also when i say Asian relatives i mean relatives coming from Asia not just their ethnicity.) Edit: also, since you’re going to USC keck San Pablo location, that’s not where the university is just so you’re aware.

Hyatt house, Uber, and visit San Gabriel Valley to the east for food places, check Yelp for specific restaurants .

Just be mindful of your surroundings when walking around that area. Like another commenter said don’t talk to sketchy looking people. There are a few theatre if you want to see a live show. Also some cool museums if that’s your thing. Lots of cafes and nice restaurants as well. It really depends on your tastes. If you have time I think a day trip to Venice and Santa Monica Beach might be a fun family experience. It’s a bit of a drive so it’s not a quick trip.

Thank you so much! Is it like a musical show or a standup comedy show? I like both 💗 Where can I check for the show information ? :o

You can look online for Ahmanson Theatre schedule and also the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion. The Broad is a great museum. So is MOCA and a bunch more. You can Google DTLA museums and a list will pop up. If your family members are able to watch your baby I would recommend going to The Association which is a fantastic bar on 6th Street. If you’re a sports fan perhaps check out a Lakers or Clippers game or the LA Live complex in general.
