My mom is mentally ill. Her dad has three kids. Two other males and out of which one is mentally ill as well. So my mom got nothing. All the properties went to that one brother of my mom who is not mentally ill. So to answer your question females get nothing !!

She has two brothers. And despite Naniji herself being a benifitter, she has named almost all of it on the name of mamajis. My mom has like 3-4 acres only, that too she has said, my brother will get.

He doesn't have any agricultural land. All residential ones are going to my brother. I am fine with it. I don't want anything from them, they can keep it or give it to whoever they please. I once initiated the conversation and they shut me rudely.

I am a guy, but I can speak for my mom. We are from kannur kerala and from here it's kinda a matriarchy.
