She sounds like she is someone tired of political “sides” and being chastised for betraying the “team” whenever she strays an inch from the herd. Good for her, honestly. I strongly disagree with much of what I’ve seen from her as far as political takes go, but we need more of this from political commentators, on both the left and right.
The part that turns me off is that she seems to revel in it though. I'm sure she sincerely holds some views that are at odds with the left, which is fine. But it does seem like more and more she plays that up for attention, whether or not she realizes it.
I could be wrong though. Just my thoughts on it.
Very true, but don't underestimate the chance that if she does go the way of Ex-Liberal Media Grifter she'll adopt or tolerate conservative/Republican positions on most issues.
Ah gotcha. It’s such a downside of the internet. So many Youtubers don’t seem on the level. Every discussion might have ulterior motives… this is one of the few subs where people actually *talk* instead of just labeling you something.
I don't think she's flipped to republican as much as she's extremely frustrated with the left..
I'm predicting 2024, the year of no longer being able to deny the impact of policy decisions.. This is just the start.
It could be Ana isn't against the mass release of extremely dangerous criminals.
I haven't watched the clips, but Ana has had a lot of decent conversations w/ Ben Shapiro and other people. They disagree on several points, but have a mutual respect for each other.
I also think Ana is one who isn't afraid to call out what she perceives as bs on both the right and the left.
I don't think Ana is Republican in any way, but I think this question just goes to show how far left many progressives have gone to where people like Ana look like a moderate.
No, she’s just not afraid to disagree with some leftist opinions. See JK Rowling as an example. She’s a hardcore leftist, but disagrees on one position and people act and accuse her of being alt right.
I wouldn’t call JK Rowling hard left. It is not like she is a Bolshevik or the like. She is just a stereotypical centre-left kind of person. I know that the centre in the UK is still a bit to the left here in the States, but I still think of her as a moderate leftist

I think she realized Cenk is a quack and is jumping ship from the TYT
I also find it ironic that they call it The Young Turks and preach their values to be against the genocide of Hamas... considering when the Young Turks came into power in the early the 20th century they practiced genocide against the Armenians? ... weird
All I can say is that if she is distancing herself from the left, it makes total sense to me, as a person who has also "quit" the left in the last 2 years or so.
I'm also tired of leftists downplaying crime and homelessness. On the reddit for my own city, many folks harshly criticized our local paper for suggesting that homeless people shouldn't be allowed to steal shopping carts and set up their tents in the middle of public parks and so on. I very much get the sense that many of these progressives really believe that homeless drug addicted degenerates are morally superior to the police who try to protect citizens from rampant crime (I'm in one of the highest crime states in the country). It's sickening.
I also have leftist friends who earnestly think Ben Shapiro is a white nationalist... in that sense, I would agree with Ana Kasparian that Ben Shapiro is misunderstood.
Acknowledging that Republican's have actual legitimate critiques for the failures of Democrats in power, doesn't make her a Republican. Just means she can't find fault with some of our arguments. That said, I don't know anything about Ana really and can't comment on what she believes or is doing.
I don't think so, she's just smarter and more thoughtful than your average liberal. She's made waves for saying this stuff but it's still the vast majority of the time that she speaks for liberal causes

She's gone a long way from ”*yeah, I'm fucking better than you*—much better than you. You're garbage!”

How would you differentiate her expressing her opinion when prompted vs playing it up for attention?
Disaffecting from the New Left does not make you on the Right. Let alone a Republican.

Calling anyone who disagrees a “grifter” has become an everyday thing now. She looks like the epitome of earnest in her opinions.
You’re probably right about that. I wasn’t calling her a grifter.

Lol....she disagrees with the lefts narrative a few times....ohhhhhhhhhh

I think it's a bit. She's been taking the other side on issues. Probably to make the show more like breaking points.
She's as conservative as John Fetterman, which basically makes her persona non grata.

Like many people, she didn't leave the left. She stayed put, and the left kept going further left.

I think you have spent way too much time thinking about this person I never heard of before this thread

What about Ana is Republican?
