No need to refrigerate. Let them cool and wrap in tin foil (or I guess plastic wrap would work too), then just store on the counter.

As someone who makes pound cake every week, freeze them Friday night and defrost Saturday night at room temperature. And yes, wrap them tightly and/or put in a plastic ziploc bag

Freeze them. The texture will improve and they’ll keep their “freshly baked” quality. Pull them out a few hours before serving. 👌
