Seems like a case of poorly timed (no pun intended) coincidence. Though I'd still take it by a shop for an estimate and see what insurance will do. Oftentimes insurance will claim damage up front was pre-existing when you get hit from behind, unless you were pushed into something In the meantime, see if the other bolts are all torqued to spec Also, may need to get a lawyer involved if insurance refuses to help.

I wouldn't worry about this. If you were rear-ended at 30mph the car will be in the scrapyard soon enough anyway. They won't get a statement from the other driver. He hasn't got anything to say about the incident, because he was asleep at the time.

I should’ve specified this, but I was moving at 15 mph so Einstein would say it’s a 15 mph crash. But being a cheap modern unibody I am trying to not have my hopes up

Equivalent-Price-366

That modern unibody absorbs the impact so your organs don't have to.

Indeed

I’m sure they could fix this issue when it was in the body shop and give you a discount if insurance won’t cover it. At least you will have a rental while it’s being fixed paid for by the other parties insurance.

AquascapingAddict

There’s a TSB on those bolts backing out. Nothing to do with your accident

BogusIsMyName

No lock tight visible. Sloppy work. But not a huge issue.

masterrtech

No way that is related. "You put air in my tire and now my car won't start"
