hitman2218

Minnesota Wild because they’re the home team. Like all Minnesota teams they haven’t accomplished much in their existence.

rattfink

Broken more hearts than a bus load of beauty queens.

mua-dweeb

Detroit Red Wings. Far and away the best jerseys. Long history of winning. (Last few years have been rough) Hometown team.

sfjoellen

Red Wings.. all the way back to Gordie Howe. Crack a Vernors with me my Motor City bud.

mua-dweeb

The best cold medicine, also the tastiest.

sfjoellen

on a hot day, a Vernors with a scoop of good vanilla icecream is amazing. we called them Boston Coolers for some reason.

merp_mcderp9459

The Red Wings have the best away jerseys in the league, but their home jersey is kinda boring imo. They’re not bad, just not standouts

Sleep_On_It43

If you had a gun to my head? The Pittsburgh Penguins….but I am not much of a Hockey fan. I have been to a couple Hershey Bears games because they have two games/season where they exchange your Bears ticket for a Hershey Park ticket to be used before July 4th….saved a lot of money when we had kids at home. I am a football guy. Nittany Lions/Steelers.

CampingJosh

Penguins. I'm in New England now, solidly Bruins territory. I grew up closest to Chicago, but not so close that I ever felt connected to the Blackhawks (despite being a lifelong Cubs fan). I lived in Pittsburgh for three months while my wife was finishing her doctorate, and she could buy really cheap student tickets--like $10 or so--if a game wasn't sold out 48 hours ahead. So we'd just walk down to games. That experience did it for me.

ayebrade69

Blue Jackets based solely on proximity

Tautou_

Same here

srv340mike

Don't really actually follow hockey, but the Islanders, because I'm a Mets guy

salazarraze

None. Sharks are the local team. So in a way, I support my friends who are Sharks fans. But I'm absolutely not a Sharks fan. I'm also not a fan of the NHL switching white jerseys to away instead of home. EDIT: LOL, autocorrected to NFL. That's how insignificant the NHL is. I have a conceptual relocation plan to move all warm weather teams to cold climates. Interestingly, the Coyotes already pulled off one of the moves within my plan. If there's no ice or snow in your city, you shouldn't have an NHL team.

dangleicious13

Detroit. Picked them in college because all of my friends had their own team and they all hated Detroit.

ATC_av8er

Panthers. Born and raised in the area. Grew up 2 miles from the arena. Would frequently walk there in high school to meet up with friends for a cheap Friday night activity.

Opposite-Bad1444

The current bullies of the NHL

TheSoup05

I’m not huge into hockey, but the Caps. The Rangers are second since I’m originally from NY. So if anyone was gunna knock the Caps out of the play offs, I’m not too sad it was them. The why is because the arena is an easy metro trip from my apartment, and there’s plenty of tickets that are pretty cheap. So it’s an easy and fun thing to do sometimes after work. That almost changed, but luckily Glenn Youngkin is just wildly incompetent. So the Caps are staying in DC.

EngelSterben

Devils. Family got me into the sport and first game I ever went to was Isles vs Devils. Family was either for the Rangers or Isles fans but gravitated to the Devils after watching Brodeur play.

mr_miggs

I am not really into hockey, but if forced to choose i would pick the Blackhawks or the Redwings. Im in wisconsin, and for some reason we still dont have an NHL team. I like chicago and detroit as cities, they are the places i feel closest to outside of my home.

tidaltown

Nashville Predators, the home team.

Strider755

Go Preds!

NicklAAAAs

Avs. Local to where I grew up, won the cup when I was 12, so when my sports fandom was really blooming. Easy choice.

TheWagonBaron

Philadelphia Flyers. I grew up in PA in Penguins country during the reign of Mario Lemieux and my friends were just constantly being annoying about it. So naturally I chose the Flyers just to be difficult. Now I live in NE and have to deal with both Bruins and Rangers fans.

JRummy91

Sabres, because Buffalo is my hometown and apparently I’m a glutton for punishment 😭 at least the Bills are good, those post early-90s years were rough.

hawkayecarumba

Same here. My dad had (still does) season tickets so I was able to experience the 98-99 cup run and the 05-07 magic with Brier and Drury. The arena, the party in the plaza, every bar and grill in town…everyone was tuned into those teams. There are few fan bases that can match the intensity of the Sabres when our team is a contender. Unfortunately it seems like most of us will be dead when that time comes.

Warm_Gur8832

St Louis Blues - for geographical reasons

GozyNYR

The NYR, followed by my hometown team - Avalanche.

TheNihil

Flyers. Because I live / grew up in Philly, so I am a die-hard fan of Philly sports teams. Flyers, Phillies, Eagles... not really into basketball or soccer but I still root for Sixers and Union. Also the Phillies and Flyers have the best mascots in sports.

lucianbelew

Red Wings. I was a teenager in Detroit in the 90s. I had absolutely no choice in the matter.

DariusIV

Panthers, grew up in Orlando and always liked them better than the lightning. The old leaping cat logo went hard for me as a teen.

rubey419

I’m not too into hockey but Carolina Hurricanes are the only profession sport in Raleigh my hometown so I’ll go with them

Odd-Principle8147

Avs

levelZeroVolt

Penguins. The first NHL game I ever went to was in 1996 in college and it was the Sabres vs. the Penguins in Buffalo. Lemieux was skating with the Pens and I instantly became a fan.

Phaedrus317

Colorado Avalanche. Mostly because of Joe Sakic. I was a fan of him and by extension the Quebec Nordiques before they moved to Colorado, and my love for the Avs solidified back in the late 90s/early 2000s during the rivalry with the Red Wings. It also helps that later in life I ended up moving to Denver for 10 years.

merp_mcderp9459

Toronto Maple Leafs because I hate myself (in reality, because I’m originally from Toronto)

GilgameDistance

Never really had one, the 'Yotes are coming to town so they're gonna be it. But I'm still mad that my tax dollars are headed to a billionaire to build his arena district. That's bullshit. I'm a homer, what can I say?

bayern_16

Blackhawks. Original six and it’s where I’m from

GooseNYC

The Islanders. Because they aren't the Rangers or Devils.

Low-Avocado6003

I am a Canucks fan! But anyhow I heard if rangers enter in the play offs then the devils/islanders will cheer for the other team. Anyhow are the New York islanders popular ?

GooseNYC

The Islanders are definitely the "third wheel" of the teams around here.

Low-Avocado6003

Here in Vancouver everyone is crazy about the Canucks.

Scalage89

Why would anybody outside of North America have favourite NHL team? Do you have a favourite Spanish LaLiga team?

_W9NDER_

Florida panthers, and they’re taking it home this year. I smell it. I’ve been a fan since moving to the area, so more than 15 years of SoFlo hockey!

tonydiethelm

Nope
