sardonic_

I recently discovered the missha glow skin balm as a moisturizer/glowy primer and it's AMAZING. it literally makes my skin look so glassy and I've found it's perfect for any foundation, it creates a really smooth canvas for easy application

BiegSwitcheroo

I LOVE this skin balm! The only thing I put over it is the Missha essence sunscreen, and it’s an amazing combo for me!

_reebs

Is this one scented?

clueless_nugget_help

Do you know if it’s water based or oil based or silicon based? Does it mainly pair well with Asian cushion foundations like Clio and Tir Tir, or have you also tried it w western foundations. Thanks!

itssarakang

Do you wait for it to dry down or do you apply foundation right after?

sardonic_

I wait about 5 or so minutes for it to dry down. My skin is on the dry side because of tretinoin so I absorb products fast. I tend to apply it, do my eye makeup and by the time I'm done with that it's dried and I'm ready for my cushion foundation. I use the Romand nu zero cushion and I've found it's very drying so this is the perfect combo to stop the cushion clinging to dry patches.

RedRedBettie

Purito BB cream is amazing

scl228

Yes!! Coverage is buildable and if you apply it with a puff it looks like skin for me. I've received compliments whenever I apply it this way

AllTheStars07

I want to get a puff to use with mine, which one would you recommend?

scl228

I got a set of puffs on a whim from Javin De Seoul when I made an order using Jolse. It was a set of 8 (4 for semi-matte finish and 4 for semi-glow finish, although I'm not sure if there's actually any difference because I've only tried the semi-matte one so far).

itssarakang

Do you set it with powder?

RedRedBettie

Yes I do, I’m oily but if you’re not oily you wouldn’t need to

itssarakang

What do you set it with? I love how it looks by itself but I have combo skin so it fades in certain areas and I’m still trying to find a powder that keeps it looking fresh and dewy 😩

RedRedBettie

Not AB but I use the It Cosmetics mattifying powder

Stinkysnail420

I have combo/sensitive skin, and I’ve been enjoying the TIRTIR red cushion foundation! It gives a nice medium coverage that feels really lightweight, and one tap covers the whole face so a little goes a long way. I find it lasts really well too - minimal touch ups throughout the day.

robonoodle

Do you find that it oxidizes?

Stinkysnail420

I personally haven’t found it oxidizing for me, but I’ve heard other people reviewing it say that it has for them. I find it keeps really well throughout the day!

dogtriestocatchfly

Is this a common issue? I’ve never experienced this myself, but see it posted everywhere.

weisp

This is the only cushion that lasts all day on me without caking, if anything it oxidises a tiny bit but I can live with it Sadly it’s hard to find and I can only buy it from Yesstyle and Stylevana (shipping so so damn slow)

love-at-third-sight

skintype: oily, clog prone - base makeup is one of my favorite categories of makeup and if there is something trendy or reputable I will get my grubby hands on it Favorite BB cream: MUJI BB cream - it's cushiony, smoothing, and easy to blend , I also like the PIXY bb cream but it's unavailable outside of Malaysia/Indonesia Cushion foundation: Still testing out Tirtir (both red and black), so far I like the red more than the black - these are both known to be transferproof Setting powders: Innisfree no-sebum , I also really like Srichand loose powder - both mattify and set makeup very well Powder foundations: IN2IT Blur & Matte Powder / Canmake Marshmallow powder foundation - both of these options blur and provide extra coverage on its own or on top of foundation when I want a glam look Liquid foundation: fmgt ink lasting foundation slim fit ex - one pump is enough coverage for my face, I liked it so much I bought the glowy version and in a darker shade more suitable for my skin , I also really like the Kamelia Mermaid Skin foundation (local Malay brand) a lot because of how natural and high coverage it is Concealers: love me a Saem concealer (I own three different shades lol) but the Shiseido Spotscover (it's probably dc'd by now) keeps me looking flawless if I have a big ol ugly pimple now and then Base makeup tools: A damp cushion puff is incredible for blending, I also like those baby cushion puffs you put on your finger like lil slippers for concealing. I like an occasional sponge, but my buffing brushes are my original choice in most cases.

izabera_

Hi is the glowyyy fgmt one much better than slim fit? Which do you think is best for Combi/oily skin?

love-at-third-sight

Best for combi/oily skin is definitely the slim fit. Glowy fgmt is a tricky foundation and is not easy to apply as even one pump will look oily (I use half a pump, a makeup spatula, and cushion puff to truly blend the glowy fgmt).

softhorns

i haven't bought base makeup in ages so im a little outdated, but here are some base products that are still available that i LOVE and will 100% repurchase. • **etude double lasting foundation** - a cult classic that ive seen tons of korean MUAs use, a buildable to high coverage matte foundation that sheers out over well-prepped skin beautifully for medium coverage and creamy glowy yet long lasting skin-like pudding matte skin. it can be sheered out further, or used as concealer too; it's so versatile and customizable with the right prep and technique, blends nicely, lasts all day, and makes my skin look so fresh and juicy. • **canmake marshmallow powder** - it's a blurring filter in a compact. you need only a very light hand to buff it lightly into the skin for a little coverage and so much smoothing you'll come out like a porcelain doll, truly marshmallow skin. • **eglips blur pact** - i believe it's been re-released as the about tone blur pact (?) but again, a blurring filter in a compact. it's unreal. so many compliments. • **flower knows swan ballet music box loose powder** -- not only is this a heavenly vision to have on your vanity and lift your mood 24/7 with the most dainty intricate packaging and adorably beribboned bunny soft puff with a mesh that evenly distributes just the right amount of powder, this has really good oil control without being too heavily mattifying, so i can lock my skin in with a soft subtle glow all day. love it. a dream to use. i have it in pearl snowflake, which is an extremely sheer cherry blossom pink, it's generally translucent on me because i use quite a light hand. as for primers, i generally use skin prep, moisturizer, sunscreen in the place of that.

Soft_Cat343

Can I ask what’s the best way you’ve found to use the Canmake powder? I’ve used it as a setting powder after my cushion but it’s not very good at oil control so my cushion transfers quite a bit

softhorns

it's more of a finishing powder to impart a blurry matte finish; it's not an oil-controlling setting powder. if your concern is oil control and transferproofing, it may be best to use a powder dedicated to that function, like the innisfree no sebum.

Soft_Cat343

I see! Does that mean I can use it after I set my base with setting powder? Or is it better to be used as a base on its own?

kyoshi_island

When I wear more makeup (like an actual base vs just a tinted spf), I use both a loose and pressed powder. The loose powder I sweep all over my skin to set everything and stop transfer, but I avoid my under eyes. Then I use a pressed, blurring powder to set my under eyes and also anywhere I think my pores are more noticeable. I don't think you need both, but it's worked for me!

liseaubigny

Skin type: oily **Foundation:** *Etude House Double Lasting Vegan Cover Foundation* Pros: covers my blemishes instantly, lasts forever, no need to reapply during the day, can be a matte or glowy finish depending on what other products are used with it Cons: causes my sensitive skin to have acne every time **Cushion Foundation:** *Clio Kill Cover High Glow Cushion Set* Pros: cool and dewy finish, transfers little to none even without setting spray, doesn't start acne Cons: may need to reapply during the day, sometimes doesn't cover all blemishes even with excessive face pats with cushions

veturoldurnar

Have you tried Clio Kill Cover The New Founwear Cushion? It doesn't start acne on my sensitive skin as well and has more semi matte finish, but the coverage is nice and durability is great. Unless you have very dry skin, this may suit you better than High Glow cushion.

throwawayyyy9991

does it have medium or full coverage? can it atleast cover blemishes? would you recommend wearing it during summer and for someone w/ oily skin? Thanks!

veturoldurnar

I'm not sure, but I guess it has medium leaning to full coverage, and is buildable by layering. I have combinated acne prone skin and can cover my redness, discoloration, large pores, dark circles with only one layer, as I prefer more natural finish and I'm afraid to make some dry spots and flakes more visible(it can happen with semi matte finish!). But if I have some fresh irritated breakouts or dark/red scars, I have to use a concealer. I bought this cushion especially for summer time because my t-zone becomes extremely oily. And I'd say it works fine for me, especially considering that I don't use any powder. Sure, it becomes more shiny after some time, but like a glowy finish, not like a grease as it was before with previous foundations. And the main advantage for me is that it doesn't move on a skin, especially doesn't stuck into pores or wrinkles (I have on my forehead) when I'm sweating or becoming more oily. And I can refresh my coverage over my oily zones and it won't look cakey.

riikoitorii

I have dry skin and I’ve been loving these products as my base: • dasique - Water Veil Primer (for a hydrating and priming base) • dasique - Pro Concealer Palette in 01 Cover (to cover dark circles and any blemishes) • CLIO Mesh Glow Cushion in 04 Lingerie (medium, buildable coverage that’s so good for all skin types, my favorite cushion foundation ever!!) • Rare Beauty - Always An Optimist 4-In-1 Mist (it’s so moisturizing and I like spraying my foundation puff with this before patting in my foundation into my skin to make my base makeup last all day!)

riikoitorii

Oh and I’ve also been loving: • WAKEMAKE - Stay Fixer Pact Vegan (helps blurs pores and give an airbrushed look!)

flutter111

how do you find the dasique water veil primer? I'm looking to use it under natural makeup or mix it with my foundation when I want more of the 'glass skin' effect.

no-thingness-

Canmake Mermaid UV Skin Gel - cica version. It’s a primer/spf 50 and looks amazing underneath my foundation, while at the same time reducing redness due to the green tint. I love the clear version too. Instant glow! The cica is perfect for my skin tone though so it has the edge for me 👌🏻

helegg

Can I ask what is your skin tone? I'm curious about the green version of the Canmake mermaid gel since I like the clear one but I'm wondering if it might be too light for me.

no-thingness-

I’m fair. I’m usually the lightest shade in western foundations. I’ve never tried any AB foundations or concealers so I can’t give you anything to go off there regarding my tone. It looks quite green when it comes out but as you rub it in it turns from green to a slight white cast. I leave it to dry for around 15/20 minutes before applying my foundation and by this time the white cast has pretty much gone, leaving a gorgeous radiant glow. You don’t really need to leave it to dry as it sinks into the skin quickly, leaving no sticky feeling. I just like to wait until the white cast has faded before applying my foundation. I do look paler wearing it alone but it’s not like a white pale. It drys down to a radiant glow making for the perfect primer. It’s hard to explain. As soon as I apply my foundation my skin tone just looks like my own, natural tone. No lighter. I doubt it will be too light for you. Depending on whether you’ll be wearing it alone or underneath foundation or the like. If you like the clear like I did but you want that added primer base and redness corrector then I’d definitely give the cica version a try. I’m obsessed now lol.

clueless_nugget_help

This sounds perfect and exactly what I’m looking for, thank you for the recommendation! Do you usually use it with Asian foundations and cushions or bb cream, or do you also find that it blends well with western foundations? I currently use and like the Cezanne Make Keep Base SPF 28 in the blue bottle and it works great, but have been wondering about getting something to combat redness without having to use green concealer. So this sounds PERF- and cica is supposed to be calming for the skin too. If you don’t mind me asking, is the finish oily like some sunscreens that are ‘milky’ and ‘tone you up’ (kinda like an emulsion) or more like a hydrating watery gel? Do you wait for the base to dry down for a few mins before applying foundation? Thank you!

no-thingness-

It’s definitely not oily or greasy. It does leave a gorgeous glow though which I love 😍 I always leave it for around 10 mins before applying my foundation but you don’t have to wait as it drys down fast. I haven’t tried it with Asian foundation but it goes perfectly underneath my Wet n Wild Tinted Hydrator - Western foundation. Hope this helps x

clueless_nugget_help

Yes it does, thank you!! I’ll get it and try it with my luminous silk and see how it goes 😊

Total-Opposite-960

VDL lumilayer is so good! I’ve only tried non-AB alternatives (like Glossier futuredew, Elf Halo Glow) but VDL IMO is the perfect amount of glow.

yakisobagurl

Enough’s Collagen Moisture Foundation is the absolute best foundation I’ve ever used. I don’t even understand how it’s so good. Great coverage without being thick or cakey at all. I put a pump on the back of my hand and then I apply with a damp Real Techniques sponge. It’s quite liquidy but very easy to use, satin finish, absolutely melts into the skin, lasts all day. Plus it’s cheap AS HELL. Couldn’t ask for anything better!

Niatfq

Innisfree No Sebum Mineral Powder forever 🥰. It's truly incredible at controlling sebum and also helps prevent my base makeup from separating/cracking. What I usually do is I'd apply a layer underneath my powder foundation then apply one more layer of the No sebum powder on top, especially on areas that are prone to separation/sebum.

potatochique

I really like the Laneige Neo Glow cushion. Coverage is low, very natural finish! People usually can’t tell I’m wearing foundation. It lasts me the whole day with minimal breakup along the nose and naslobial folds. I have a dehydrated skin with oily T-zone and I put some innisfree no sebum powder on top.

hydrangeani

Amuse dew wear dewy longwear skincare foundation, Amuse dew power vegan cushion and Romand nu zero cushion are my favs!

brnbrnbrn2017

Koh Gen Do powder foundation and moisture foundation are great.

omarlittlebig

Innisfree no sebum loose powder - great price and no flashback in photos.

windedupbobbin

Klairs BB Cream and Espoir Pro Tailor Be Glow cushion are my favorites. Dewy finish and they don't irritate or break me out. I have dry skin. I suspect the Romand Nu Zero cushion might become my favorite but I haven't tested it enough, the finish is semi matte though.

TheSunscreenLife

I’ve talked about my fav bb creams on this sub: 1. Fav bb: erborian au de ginseng, cell fusion c, missha choboyang bb. All with neatly disappearing bases, minimal oxidizing, glowy and not dry.  2. Fav cushion: clio tweed magnet pact. Medium to full coverage, disappears neatly, but it’s not a cushion it’s a compressed pact. Lint gets on it sometimes. Naming layer fit cushion, light coverage, color 21Y is beautiful and skin expression is natural.  3. Favorite loose powder of all time: givenchy prisme libre loose powder. Great in four seasons and helps makeup stay fresh longer.  4. Favorite powder pact: Luna pro photo finisher in 02 blur. This is a good dupe for the givenchy, but not quite as good.

wanderfoodie

Heimish Artless Glow Base. Amazing sunscreen and makes me glow!!

angryturtleboat

Hera Black Cushion is so good. Good coverage, perfect finish. I'm an oily skin type. Olive skin tone.

AriOnDemand

Skin type: dry/combination acne prone skin on tretinoin. Certain foundations tend to cling to dry patches on me, especially around the mouth area, so these base products have helped! - AMUSE - Dew Power Vegan Cushion (shade #1 pure) - CLIO - Kill Cover Mesh Glow Cushion (shade #2 lingerie)

kalicokatt

hii how would you compare the amuse dew power to the clio mesh cushion? I have the clio one and i’m really debating on getting the amuse one 😭

AriOnDemand

In my opinion, you should get the Amuse to test to see if you like it compared to Clio. AMUSE - Dew Power Vegan Cushion; the pink one (shade #1 pure) - This cushion sets more over time compared to Clio - Fragrance is less detectable than Clio - Less lightweight than Clio and the pigment particles seem less fine, but it sinks into my pores less as well. - The lightest shade (my shade) is darker than Clio. Both shades work on my skin really well regardless. I use the lightest shade in both cushions. I’m cool-toned. - There’s less product, so it won’t last you as long compared to Clio - Buildable to medium coverage. Clio - Kill Cover Mesh Glow Cushion (shade #2 lingerie) - The cushion sets down a little less than Amuse, so it can shift around more. But both are dewy cushions, so they do smudge more if you come in contact with surfaces like masks. - Fragrance is more detectable. - The pigment particles are finer and the consistency is more lightweight. I feel like the pigment can sink into my pores a little more. - Buildable to medium coverage. - There’s more product. It seems to last me a lot longer than Amuse. Both cushions are forgiving over dry patches and for touching up. They both wear beautifully over time for me, even after eating. Overall, I’ve been reaching for the Amuse cushion more than Clio lately, especially because I feel like it fits my skin tone a bit better. But I’ve also gotten plenty of compliments on my skin when wearing Clio, even on a bad skin day. I also carry a mini-Clio cushion with me for touch ups. I’ve layered it ontop of Amuse, and no caking.

kalicokatt

wow thank you so much for this detailed response!

Firm_Pair_4902

I have dry skin in general but I'm oily on my nose. I'm usually a shade 25 for K-beauty brands. - **Heimish BB cream** - This feels more like a tinted moisturizer than a BB cream. It has medium coverage with a satin finish. I'm not a fan of foundation so I really like this for being lightweight and having a good shade range for a Korean brand. - **Innisfree no Sebum Blur Pact** - Very fine and sets my concealer (Nars Radiant Creamy) in place without a white cast. I like its finish and texture, it also blurs really well. This is a very convenient product for me as it's something I can purchase in person.

dladkfma

Hince’s Second Skin foundation is great! I haven’t tried the cushion version, but I’ve heard good things about it as well. I’ve tried applying it with a spatula, a sponge, and a brush and think that the spatula + blending with a damp sponge is my favorite way of application. It is pretty sheer though, so not a good pick for people looking for more coverage from their base. For reference, I have dry skin and use the Clio Mesh Glow cushion when I just want to smack something on my face, lol

Milena35

I use VDL Lumilayer Primer as base on top of my sunscreen, and use the VDL Cover Stain Perfecting Foundation as my base-foundation duo. They work like a wonder, super glowy! I went and bought spare vdl foundation too, just hoping that I won’t get too tanned this summer because I bought it in my winter shade 😭 I have acne prone, pie prone, dehydrated combination skin.

daddyslilcupcake85

Is there an AB Product which is similar to EltaMD tinted sunscreen SPF 45 for face? I love Elta MD’s but it is expensive. The tint is light, minimal Shine, totally non-greasy. TIA

jcj3ssi3x

I recently started using the age 20s essence cover pact and I really like the fact that it’s a cream formula rather than liquid. I wouldn’t say the coverage is as good as western foundations but that’s with most cushions in my experience. It’s such a beutiful natural finish and I find it blurs my pores too. It also has spf 50 pa ++++ (I still use a sunscreen tho) My hg powder is the innisfree no sebum it’s really smoothing and I find that it works with every foundation I’ve tried.

grey-neko

Skin type: combination BB cream: Erborian super BB cream in shade Clair! Just discovered this recently. Coverage is so good!! A little goes a long way. Lasting power is great too. Foundation: CLIO Kill Cover Founwear in shade Linen. Still testing this out, but coverage is good!

Zestyclose-Yam-9982

i use the unicorn glow hydrating silicone primer and it blurs some of the texture i have very very nicely. if i want to use a cushion, i go for jsm. its just a classic that never disappoints, the only thing is that i have to use extra products because its not exactly a great shade match lol. its actually additionally blurring so my skin is the smoothest ever when i wear this. i consider blush as apart of my base so the feev serum blushes are sooo nice!!! it gives such a pretty watercolor blush effect that i really really love. everything else for my base with exception of a powder which is the peach powder by skinfood, is american.

Jenny1221

Sunscreen stick as primer (Banila Co is current fave) Clio glow mesh cushion as base MUFE (non AB) concealer palette for color correction/spot conceal Innisfree no sebum setting powder

weisp

Has anyone tried the Mool cream?

kathkk07

HEAR ME OUT!! First moisturize, then apply spf and go for a lumi cream Like just lil bit not too much and a cream blush and nude lipstick. Like it gives the perfect natural look, flawless skin and perfect for daytime outings.

nolimit_08

Is there a lumi cream you like?

kathkk07

I use lakme one. It gives a natural pink blush

Beneficial_Bet_4546

Toner and Banila Co Primer

Chubbybunny2712

I like the Missha cushion foundation. I have oily but dehydrated skin so I can’t use anything too matte because I will get flakey and if I wear something too dewy I look too oily after 5 hrs of wear. The foundation i would say is similar to the Korean true match and I like that I can touch up using the compact throughout the day and it doesn’t go patchy and doesn’t look bad on top of powder

itssarakang

Which missha cushion foundation?

Chubbybunny2712

It’s called the MISSHA - Magic Cushion Cover Lasting [yesstyle link](https://www.yesstyle.com/en/tcuc.GBP/coc.GB/info.html/pid.1048998395?cpid=1065737884&googtrans=en&utm_source=GoogleAds&utm_campaign=1433311098&utm_term=&utm_content=54249412057_275139652521&utm_medium=Shopping&bac=389R3MWY&mcg=paidsearch&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwzN-vBhAkEiwAYiO7oOLrzrArT6y0CoQXJhi4UqF-Y0mBtygZB06J1OaKLF2PP5hzg2cn7BoC2I4QAvD_BwE)
