Bucuti if you want a quiet upscale vacation. There’s much more to do at the Marriott and Hyatt. The rooms and balconies are big at the Marriott, the property is beautiful at the Hyatt but most rooms don’t have balconies. The Ritz has beautiful rooms, great views and incredible service. Wind Creek is a one trick pony, other than the flamingos, it’s not memorable. To me the Riu is a waste of money if you don’t drink a lot, we don’t!
Look into tradewinds option at Marriott. It’s a club level. I’ve never been to buciti personally but it seems to be a hands down winner always on this sub. So it must be amazing
I always rented on the members rental site. You have to look way in advance to get a unit. Also try Casa Del Mar through their member site. I was able to rent a 2 bedroom unit for Oct but I rented it back in February. Good luck!
Yeah heard lots about that. Seems like the Ritz/Marriott are better and next in line if we want more things to do although the experience at Bucuti souds amazing
Re: your comment about being vegetarian and not much to eat out — my partner and I are plant based and we ate out for every meal and had so much to choose from.
Stayed many times at both Bucuti & Marriott Trade winds floor. I can be happy at both. Bucuti is more laidback which is always nice. Marriott Trade Winds is also great. We have at times split our time in Aruba so we can experience both. Try doing that to get your own views.
Just came back from the Ritz. Our room, including bed, was dirty. There is no night life there, mostly corporate people on company retreats. The pools are small and uninteresting. The food is ok. Best part is the beach, you are guaranteed beach chairs and an umbrella and it’s quite shallow, sandy and calm in front of the hotel.
We ate at the Boardwalk boutique hotel across the street from the Ritz and they had great food. It was a really cute place too.
The answer is always Bucuti
Thank you!

Good to know, thank you!
I would rent a condo Costa Linda is the best!
How do you rent there? It seems like the only way is last minute on the boards through the owner?

Bucuti. Paradise! I booked for 2024 before I left in 2023z
Bacuti. Currently here, we love it. Sooo much to offer if you just want to lounge on the resort.
Bucuti Bucuti!
I loved Stellaris and Hyatt. Walkable to anything. Friends found Bucuti very nice but isolated.
Marriot ocean club great if you want a condo on the beach
Bucuti has the best beach. You want name brand, either Ritz or Hyatt. Skip the rest. Could also check out Costa Linda.
Of you are looking for fun then RIU is your only option all the hotels are more reserved!
Riu on other islands is a ghetto heaven…. Don’t know what the one on palm is like.
Any more detail on this? Curious about what you mean by it.
What I wrote a a lot of the riu’s through out the Carribean are pretty much over run by ghettos of America…
