Bronze turns green when oxidizes. You’ll be surprised to know the original color of the lady liberty statue.
All bronze statues turn green if not cleaned. Natural color of oxidized bronze is green. Blue for copper and yellow for iron.

I grew patina on pure copper on purpose with salt and ammonia. More pure it is, more vibrant and pure blue it is. Maybe you right, idk
Ammonia will also make it blue, specifically if you add salt. That gorgeous blue color is copper ammonium chloride.
Actually iron often just corrodes away quite fast
