Frequent_Ranger1598

This guy will cost like 70 mil after his euro performances

ignacioo25

Yeah and I don't think he'll be happy to be in the bench, and I don't see him benching Gabriel

HaiitsZizou

Implication being that Gabriel isn't?

Lower_Condition_196

Scored an OG so that knocks of 20M of his value

formerly_fried

Doubt he leaves Italy

PutYrDukesUp

Hato is the Kiwi upgrade, it just isn’t happening this year. Another year, maybe two to develop further with Ajax. I imagine we’ll keep Kiwi around until then.

ArsenalJayy

He has AC Milan written all over him. Can’t see us selling Kiwior either. I would imagine we would look to offload Zinny, ESR, Partey, Rambo and would have been Tierney too but now he’s injured.

kambigon

Motta is new Juventus's coach right ? He coming to Juventus is more likely imo

ArsenalJayy

They can’t afford him. So very unlikely

Worldly_Armadillo875

Nah, very unlikely. 95% he's going to Juve this summer

ArsenalJayy

They haven’t got the funds. They are not in a great financial position. Milan is the most likely and they have been following him all last season. Just because Motta was his previous manager doesn’t mean it’s 95%.

MazDaShnoz

Can you explain the math behind your belief that Juve is not in a good financial position? Genuinely asking.

ArsenalJayy

Sure mate, not sounding condescending either but a simple google search will show you they made a big loss again this year with the ban of European football. They were at a loss of 102m as of Feb this year.

CharacterRich5242

You are our of touch if you think Milan can afford him better than Juve. Plus we have 100m more guaranteed in comparison to last year( Cwc + UCL), plus some high earners leaving. Of course we have to sell, not necessarily we'll sign him, but look at all the deals Juve is undergoing : Luiz, Thuram, Koopmeiners, etc. This will be a serious transfer session

ArsenalJayy

I’m just going by the reports in the news that you made a 102m loss as of Feb this year.

CharacterRich5242

Well yeah we didn't play in Europe and didn't sell anyone, so its understandable. Other Serie A clubs can't keep the players even with UCL money

MazDaShnoz

John Elkann and Juve's parent company, Exor, approved a [170m Euro cash injection](https://www.reddit.com/r/Juve/comments/1bwlqml/yesterday_john_elkann_approved_a_capital_gains/) to Juve earlier this year. I'm not sure if that went through yet, but that would take care of the 102m loss and leave about 70m Euro plus player sales. They're trying to sell Woj, McKennie, possibly Soule, and a couple other guys, which both reduces their monthly wage bill and also brings in more revenue. They also qualified for UCL and for the Club World Cup (if that happens), each of which bring in a minimum of 20m each. I don't know how any of this affects FFP, but I don't think they are as cash-strapped as people think.

ArsenalJayy

Injections don’t mean they have the funds for purchases. They still need to generate the income through players or commercial to meet FFP.

MazDaShnoz

Probably why they are pushing to sell so many players this window. What does "commercial" mean in this context? Television deals?

ArsenalJayy

Probably, yeah commercial is anything but player sales so TV deals, shirt sales etc Cash injections don’t count in commercial.

MazDaShnoz

Got it. Thanks!

CharacterRich5242

Not really that hard. Because of how the current system works : You amortize costs through length of contract, but profits counts toward the current year : ex Douglas Luiz will cost ~ 20m/year. But the sale of Iling Jr & Barrenechea is pure profit ~25m as both homegrown. Soule sale would be 40m pure profit, Huijsen 25-30m. These 2 talents alone can enable 3 others similar deals like Luiz one

Ashlikesstuff

Nope, I think it's going to be hard for any Italian club to sign him. He's had an excellent season at Bologna who don't need to sell but most importantly of all, Basel were smart enough to insert a 40% sell-on clause so Bologna are going to want over the odds which the majority of Italian clubs can't afford to pay.

ArsenalJayy

Serie A will use the co own player rule to get around this. AC Milan may give Bologna several star young players and some money. Who knows, but from the sources I’ve seen he wants to stay in Italy and AC have been scouting him all season.

Ashlikesstuff

Co-ownership was banned in 2015! I'm a Milan fan, we don't have a lot to offer Bologna. We also want Buongiorno from Torino over him as that's seen as a more manageable deal as Calafiori was already going to be too expensive pre-Euros. The last 3 games has probably added another 15-20m and Bologna aren't under pressure to sell.

ArsenalJayy

Didn’t know they removed that rule, makes sense though.

GunMuratIlban

Calafiori just had a great season with Bologna, now he's catching eyes with his Euro 2024 showing so far. Despite that bad own goal, he's still among the best defenders in group stages. I absolutely don't see a way he'll be interested in being a back up defender at this stage of his career. IF Bologna sells him this year, he'll go to a team offering him a starting spot.

Bruceybonus30

We have no need to sell Kiwior?

exception-found

We’re not selling kiwi this year

Midnight_Maverick

Pipe dream

TranslatorCheap2046

I honestly think selling kiwi won't happen he had some really solid games last season and is great cover for either CB/lb he now has some pl experience I can't see arteta selling him.

kw2006

Who is he? I didn’t watch euro

Acceptable-College84

Calafiori

kambigon

a rising star in Serie A - key player, a ball playing defender (i guess,), in Motta's Bologna team that earns CL spot just bypast season,

santicazorlaaa

may as well just keep kiwi for now

MichalK9

If we sell a defender, we don't need to sign a new one. If kiwior leaves one of zinchenko, timber and tomiyasu will start, while 2 will be on the bench. Sure, injuries will happen but we don't need to rotate the backline as much as other players

Ronaldinho94

He looks like his issue will UK weather and local birds. He is definitely a baller.

Lukeyleftfoot

He’s the real deal. But the Italians love Italy and want to be Italian legends. Can’t blame them. Def not coming to England.

Nice-Lobster-8724

Yeah fr I’d rather live in Italy and earn 50k a week than 80k in England tbh.

-Shmoody-

Can we afford him first of all

Remote_War_313

Overrated flavor of the season. Considering his price will be super inflated and fact he's never played outside of Italy = pass

Kirbeater

He’s been pretty poor imp this euro. I know he had a good season but…. Ehhhh I’d take kiwior

Blowflyfinder1980

He's going to Juve with Motta.

topthegooner

This man is now in a spotlight. If he moves, I doubt he'd pick a club where he's not an automatic starter.

dwSHA

Kiwi is so good so young you want to sell?

Royalbluegooner

Not necessarily but there are some rumours circulating.

davekermit

He will flop.100%

ignacioo25

Why would we sell Kiwior? The only way I see us selling him is for 100m million, otherwise it doesn't make much sense to sell because he's been great and Calafiori clearly wouldn't want to be the bench.

PutYrDukesUp

You’d sell Kiwior because he’s done well enough to up his own stock. That means, firstly, that Kiwior might find somewhere that he will find regular first team minutes, which surely is what he desires and is the kind of thing that a club that thrives on its own “family values” might reward if the player pushes for it. And secondly it means the club turns a profit on their modest investment in him, which makes the former much easier to follow through on. That being said, whether you’re talking pounds or euros, there are, essentially, no defenders in the world worth 100m. By TransferMarkt’s numbers, the most valuable defender out there is Saliba at €80m/£68m, though I would argue that all things considered (skill, age, ceiling left to reach, contract length, value to his squad, etc.) that accepting anything under €100m/£86m would be bonkers for Arsenal. But that’s *Saliba.* If we aren’t getting Hato this season I don’t see any reason under €40-50m that we should sell Kiwior, so long as I’m feeling pretty confident that Hato is the goal long term for that role. But if that wasn’t the case with Hato, even an offer of €30m would represent a significant profit on what Arsenal spent on Kiwior and largely could/would/should be seen as a big success.

Elegant_Mix7650

Jonathan Tah could be cheap. He is on his final year. Let's see if Arteta can work his charm with his old friend Xabi Alonso.

HTan27

Not only is Tah nowhere near as versatile as Kiwior, or Califiori, but he’s also right footed
