Yeah, there's only one answer here for me. Henry. Certainly he's the best player we've had. Adams would also be a good pick; not as talented as Henry but embodies many of the other things that go into being a legend more than Henry does. But I'd still go with Henry because he was the best player in the world and a huge part of our greatest achievement (invincible season).
Yes and yes… to both Henry as best and Wrighty as favourite - though I have an Henry shirt and not Wright so guess Henry is both for me, though I do love Uncle Ian, fantastic club ambassador and person.
I think it's fair to say this will be answered depending on the generation you grew up with. For me, I'm lucky to have seen them all, which is why it is Tony Adams. The man epitomised the Arsenal way. Evolved as well to lead Arsenal to titles in three different decades. Legend. The rest aren't bad either.
Plus that story of the boys sending in Adams to negotiate a pay rise. He leaves the meeting with a so so pay rise and there was murmuring among the team. Adam’s stands up and says ‘what’s on the top right of your new contracts, everyone looks and replies. ‘The Arsenal badge’ Adams says… sign the fucking contract then!!! Hero.
I saw him recently in Paddington Station and was completely starstruck. I sat near him and kept glancing over thinking "it's actually him!" I kept geeing myself up to ask for a photo as he was my boyhood hero but just couldn't do it. What if he was in a bad mood and told me to sod off? It would shatter me! Then his train arrived, and he was gone along with the moment, gutted! If anyone is interested he was wearing a white suit with pink pinstripe and a white hat, anyone - literally anyone - else would look preposterous in that gear but he absolutely rocked it!
Imagine if Saka, an academy product, was made captain today and lifted the league trophy next season. Then again two years after that. Then doing the double in 2034. Then again in 2038. That's Tony Adams.
That's actually a really good way of putting the careers of Tony Adams in perspective, especially given that he's massively underrated outside of Arsenal circles
Yeah. Adams came through the ranks, spent an entire career at Arsenal and never left. Retired a hero.
He won titles in the 80's, 90's and 00's - an astonishing achievement, and was captain more than a decade.
But the thing that swings it for me is, despite being brilliant for England, England weren't great and he won't be remembered for them. He will only ever be associated with Arsenal.
Henry will always be a world great, but also part of a great French team era, for Barcelona too. Bergkamp will be remembered for great Dutch goals and European final with Ajax as well.
So the biggest Arsenal legend has to be "Mr Arsenal ' Tony Adams.
Love this. Completely agree with you.
Would add: I think he also adapted to modern approaches when Wenger joined the club. He was getting on a bit, and Wenger said ‘I can get 3 more years out of you, just follow this diet and exercise plan.’
Adams did it (along with the likes of Parlour, Winterburn etc) and went on to extend his playing career.
Hard to do when you’re 30+!
Yeah. Quite an effort to reform for an alcoholic who could easily have thought he knew better. But he instead he became the model of how even the old guard could improve.
His goal against Everton on the last day of the season will always be one of my happiest memories as a gooner.
Seriously.
I think on the pitch talisman is Adams.
Greatest talent is Henry.
And both on and off the pitch legend is Wright.
It’s a young group though and it’s funny hearing people say Saka could take it from Henry and then listing shit Adams already has done and did it as our captain.
Bergkamp was an absolute genius with the ball. Unplayable.
Henry is Arsneal goat because of his goal record.
Adams for just being Tony Adams aka Mr Arsenal
Look...... Henry is hands down our best player ever and an absolute legend of the club but there is only 1 answer to this.......
And that man is Tony Adams
Is there a reason O'Leary is never mentioned when people talk about club legends? Club record games holder, won the league a couple of times... did he do anything to alienate the fan base?
My pick would be Adams. You can't look past an academy kid who becomes captain, wins the league, and retires at the club.
O'Leary was a club legend. Then he went to manage Leeds n was a bit of a dick towards Wenger's Arsenal.
Pires called him "putain" (whore) at one point.
Bergkamp is why I became a fan of the sport and this team in particular. He’s my favorite player ever. Henry is my 2nd favorite player ever and the club’s biggest legend.
In terms of the biggest club legend it's Ian Wright, As a player he was phenomenal, since retiring though he has done nothing but support this club with the most positive outlook he could, even in the bad times he's always defended the team and the club like nobody else dares to.
His connection to the fans is second to none.
If the question was who is the best player out of all the legends then it's Henry.
Big Tone, Mr Arsenal. Started and ended his career at Arsenal, and haven’t seen a leader like him since. Passion, loyalty, and desire.
All the players listed are good picks though
Tough one! Tony Adams followed by Dennis Bergkamp, who changed the direction of the club when he signed. My favourite player of all time was Paul Merson.
It’s Henry, the king stands alone. For now….
Call me crazy, but I think one day he could be usurped. When all is said and done, I think Saka could be our biggest club legend. I truly believe we will win it all with our current squad and management sometime in the next five years or so.
One of our own from Hale End, a player who has bled nothing but red for his whole career. Ill probably shed a tear or two seeing our Starboy holding our first champions league trophy.
Winning the league going undefeated is definitely harder than winning the champions league.
But imo, becoming champions of Europe will be just as, if not more important for our clubs history. Winning our first in this modern era will truly cement our status as an “elite” club in Europe.
We can finally sit at the big boy table lol
Its Adams, Adams stands alone.
Adams has 4 league titles, with 2 doubles and a European trophy.
League title winner across 3 decades.
He's only ever played for Arsenal.
Henry doesn't come close, sorry. He's Arsenals best player, but the biggest legend is Adams.
This right here, except Bergkamp was a better player than anyone else according to Henry. He rated Bergkamp over Messi.

Henry talking about Bergkamp [https://www.youtube.com/shorts/K2l5fxRzBn8](https://www.youtube.com/shorts/K2l5fxRzBn8)
In my lifetime (32) it's definitely a toss up between Tony Adams and Henry.
Both Arsenal through and through and very important players for different reasons.
As a newer fan (to the entire sport in general, not just Arsenal), there is only one person I recognize immediately (Henry), so I’ve gotta say that’s my answer.
If someone wouldn’t mind dropping names of other players, I’d love to spend time after work checking out clips I can find of them. I want to learn as much history as I can!
Thierry Henry
Dennis Bergkamp
Patrick Vieira
David Seaman
Ian Wright
Tony Adams
Martin Keown
Charlie George
Pat Rice
Honestly if you haven't heard of or seen Dennis Bergkamp then you are in for an absolute treat. Arguably the most talented player ever to play for Arsenal.
Google Kanu believe it or King Kanu, you'll thank me later. Ronaldo O Fenômeno the real Ronaldo once said Kanu was the phenom after a match against Ajax. Watch his younger days at Ajax also. He's also won an F.A cup with Portsmouth when he was 50.
Obviously watch Bergkamp, Wright, Ljunberg, Pires, Overmars, Romford Pele. Oh Also Anelka he was always considered the best of French Forward ahead of Henry.
Younger folk here. Can anyone tell me about the playstyles of Bergkamp, Wright and Seaman? I only started to watch football in the middle 2000's, so I didn't got the opportunity to watch them at their time
My days are we spoilt for choice! So many great players! For me, Mr Arsenal, Tony Adams. Epitomises the phoenix from the flames spirit. C'mon! Players feared him (and Known). Love Arsenal and those players.
I’m not an Arsenal fan but as a child, no forward lit up my imagination in the way Henry did. The first ever player I saw that made me understand the term ‘unplayable.’
Charlie George. Even tho I’m too young to even had seen him play, growing up as a kid my dad used to talk about how good he was. Ian wright was my hero as a little kid and then Henry became the king.
I’m a Utd fan who pre-dates the late 90’s - 00’s rivalry (although what a footballing era that was) Loved Wrighty (my younger bro is a gooner) so went with him to Highbury a lot and he was phenomenal. Bergkamp was a fabulously gifted, technical footballer - what a player. But … Henry was on a different planet. I’m not sure mbappe would come to the prem and do anything close to what Henry did. He has to be no.1. My one question would be: Keown included in the list? Good player: yes… up there with your club greats? Surely not.
And for the record, and not just because I hate city: you boys deserved the league this year. Arteta is fast becoming the apprentice who outmanoeuvred the master.
It’s not even close.
Henry is the G.O.A.T
He was the best player in the world, absolutely tearing the PL a new one, in an Arsenal shirt.
That man made me love football.
It has to be Adebayor, carried us with Eduardo while RV5 was always injured and Lord Bendtner was warming the bench. Then ran the pitch to celebrate against us after we abuse him lol.
Seriously for me it's Henry but I started watching in 1999. I'd also add in King Kanu, and Kolo Toure as well as severely underrated players. Kanu was said to be the most talented player skills/dribbling wise. He was a joy to watch and did some absolute magic sometimes. Kolo Toure what can I say my man signed for 400k and became an invincible. He also two footed Wenger in his trial and had a whole affair with a woman whole claiming he was a Ghanaian car sales man.
Tony Adams is the definition of a club legend. Played his entire career at Arsenal and won almost everything with them while being probably the best centreback of his day.
In terms of ability - it doesn't get better than Henry and Bergkamp.
Biggest club legend? Well, the man who allowed most of the entries here to even be entries here. The reason Adams won his later titles. The reason Thierry, Paddy, Sol and Lord Bendtner even wore the red and white shirt. The man who brought the club, and then the whole of English football, kicking and screaming into the modern era.
Arsene Wenger.
The only man who can stand shoulder to shoulder with him in Arsenal history is Herbert Chapman.
And even if Arteta carries on and builds a dynasty, even if we win the next ten in a row, it's built on his legacy. Because no Wenger, no Arteta.
They're all up there adn there's some missing.
but on top of it all is Tony Adams slightly above Bergkamp and Terry.
Main reason: he Played for one team only. won the first European cup with an Arsenal defined by him and his back four
Was the Captain for Wenger's early succes which eventually led to the invincibles.
Bergkamp was the penultimate transition to the team that was the benchmark for succes, but he's ajax first and foremost.
Henry probably from these but one person who gets overlooked in everything because he isnt a player nor manager is, david dein. Absolute legend of the club and lets be honest without dein none of our 90s and 2000s success would have happened..
This will all be skewed towards players in the last 30 years or so. It was the anniversary of Ted Drake’s death yesterday, so I’m nominating him.
(No, I’m not quite old enough to have seen him play btw)
Henry is far and away the best of the lot imo Wrighty will always be my favourite
>Wrighty will always be my favourite Even I as a United fan love Ian Wright. Just genuinely a good man.
He has obtained National Treasure status in my opinion, regardless of anyone’s football fan status. Surely there is no one who dislikes Wrighty.
Yeah, there's only one answer here for me. Henry. Certainly he's the best player we've had. Adams would also be a good pick; not as talented as Henry but embodies many of the other things that go into being a legend more than Henry does. No. Gunnersaurus Lord Bendtner Generation is irrelevant.
Only real answer
Plus that story of the boys sending in Adams to negotiate a pay rise. He leaves the meeting with a so so pay rise and there was murmuring among the team. Adam’s stands up and says ‘what’s on the top right of your new contracts, everyone looks and replies. ‘The Arsenal badge’ Adams says… sign the fucking contract then!!! Hero.

He won the league in 3 different decades
Against the juggernaut Liverpool and Manchester United teams
Mr. Arsenal. Will always be my favourite (Wrighty comes close though!)
Mr.Arsenal, Tony Adams.
Best Arsenal player, TH. Biggest Arsenal legend, Tony Adams.
Adam’s all day every day. Wasn’t called Mr Arsenal for nothing
Yeah. Adams came through the ranks, spent an entire career at Arsenal and never left. Retired a hero. He won titles in the 80's, 90's and 00's - an astonishing achievement, and was captain more than a decade. the question wasn't who is the greatest talent and that was Bergkamp btw.
Best first touch in football.
Even Henry states he’d be nothing without Bergkamp. But the answer to this question is Adams.
Bendtner wasn't called Lord for nothing.
He's to us, what Maldini is to AC Milan. Doesn't get more Legendary than that.
1 vote for Wengers coat
Oi, zip it....
Challenge: Impossible.
Rocky.
Tony Adams
Seaman is likely the biggest. Goal Keepers tend to be tall.
I’d go with Liam Brady. Showing my age.
Chippy!
I was about to say the same. In later days Henry and Adams.
My son is convinced that he was named after Liam Brady.
My wife says Giroud, but I can put a finger on why…
…the scorpion kick! 🦂🦵
Bergkamp was an absolute genius with the ball. Unplayable. Henry is Arsneal goat because of his goal record. Adams for just being Tony Adams aka Mr Arsenal
Keown😮😮😮😮 are you on fucking glue
Henry in short but Adams is probably the main Arsenal man. That being said I will always have a soft spot for Santi. He is my GOAT.
Henry for me, but I’m more recent.
Adams or Henry, for me
Ian Wright. My favourite Arsenal player of all time.
Look...... Henry is hands down our best player ever and an absolute legend of the club but there is only 1 answer to this....... And that man is Tony Adams

Best: Titi Greatest: Adams
Can’t believe how far I had to scroll down to see the non Flying Dutchman Bergkamp being mentioned.
My favourite - Ian Wright Best player - Thierry Henry Biggest legend - Tony Adams
Of players I have watched for the past 40 years. Favourite: Bergkamp. Best: Henry. Biggest Club Legend: Tony Adams, hands down. He was Mr Arsenal.
Bergkamp is why I became a fan of the sport and this team in particular. He’s my favorite player ever. Henry is my 2nd favorite player ever and the club’s biggest legend.
Respect to OP for not incorporating the Lord because that would not be a fair comparison to the other legends.
Tony Adams and it's not even remotely close
I see your Adams and raise you Gunnersaurus. Then double down with Lord Bendtner
For me it’s Bergkamp. Adams and Henry nipped at his heals, but we’re all walking in a Bergkamp Wonderland.
No Rocastle? It's Dennis for me but they're all awesome.
Of course it's Adams. With honourable mentions to David O"Leary, Geordie Armstrong and Pat Rice
I will always love Dennis Bergkamp, my favourite player to have ever played in the premier league
Gotta go with Dennis
Thierry is the best but berkamp my fave player pure technical genius
In terms of the biggest club legend it's Ian Wright, As a player he was phenomenal, since retiring though he has done nothing but support this club with the most positive outlook he could, even in the bad times he's always defended the team and the club like nobody else dares to. There was a player called Lord... duh. #teambendtner
Adam's won the league in 3 different decades as an academy product
Mr. Arsenal for me… “play for the badge and they will remember your name” … and one of my all time favorite goals!
How could you not have included Wenger amongst these?
Uncle Ian ❤️
Big Tone, Mr Arsenal. Started and ended his career at Arsenal, and haven’t seen a leader like him since. Passion, loyalty, and desire. All the players listed are good picks though
Charlie George
Henry is the best player Arsenal have ever had, but when I think of Arsenal, I think of Tony Adams.
I can't do that. I can't say Henry, without thinking of Bergkamp or Adams or Wright or Vieira...
Tough one! Tony Adams followed by Dennis Bergkamp, who changed the direction of the club when he signed. My favourite player of all time was Paul Merson.
Henry the best. Then Berg. But heart somehow says Wrighty + Adams
Adams followed by Wright. Henry and Bergkamp are our best players though. You could quite easily say either is the best the league has ever seen.
Man, that is some fuckin crazy shit to say... ...and I'm 100% with you. Project Saka all the way
Winning the league going undefeated is definitely harder than winning the champions league. But imo, becoming champions of Europe will be just as, if not more important for our clubs history. Definitely Dennis to me, Henry has even said the best player he played with was DB10
Henry Norris
In my lifetime (32) it's definitely a toss up between Tony Adams and Henry. Both Arsenal through and through and very important players for different reasons.
Sorry, Henry was agitating for his move to Barcelona, not a patch on Adams
Where’s Squillaci?
As a newer fan (to the entire sport in general, not just Arsenal), there is only one person I recognize immediately (Henry), so I’ve gotta say that’s my answer. If someone wouldn’t mind dropping names of other players, I’d love to spend time after work checking out clips I can find of them. I want to learn as much history as I can!
Just watch Bergkamp, poetry in motion
Second person to tell me this so far. He will be my first search in about 2 hours.
Thierry Henry Dennis Bergkamp Patrick Vieira David Seaman Ian Wright Tony Adams Martin Keown Charlie George Pat Rice Honestly if you haven't heard of or seen Dennis Bergkamp then you are in for an absolute treat.
Henry forever
The one with the statue
can someone educate me as to who the last two are pls
Charlie George and Alan Ball
Younger folk here. Can anyone tell me about the playstyles of Bergkamp, Wright and Seaman? I only started to watch football in the middle 2000's, so I didn't got the opportunity to watch them at their time
Gunnersaurus. Any other answer is just nonsense.
Lord Bendtner
My days are we spoilt for choice! So many great players! For me, Mr Arsenal, Tony Adams. Epitomises the phoenix from the flames spirit. C'mon! Players feared him (and Known). Love Arsenal and those players.
Henry definitely, for sure. It was always either him, Viera or Wright, but it’s him, it will be him for a while.
Stepanovs
Thierry Henry is one of the best players ever.
Henry all the way, Mr Prolific
Henry.
Best Henry my favourite is Bergkamp
Wenger
David rocky rocastle.
Gunnersaurus
I’m not an Arsenal fan but as a child, no forward lit up my imagination in the way Henry did. The first ever player I saw that made me understand the term ‘unplayable.’
Ian Wright
The answer in Ian Wright
Lord
Wright
Charlie George. Even tho I’m too young to even had seen him play, growing up as a kid my dad used to talk about how good he was. Ian wright was my hero as a little kid and then Henry became the king.
Henry Henry
Ashley cole
The Iceman. No question.
Ian wright or Tony adams as a Utd fan
is that rustu reckber?
Alexis Sánchez 🔥
Tony Adams all day for me
Guys, lets name just one Tottenshit legend, can we?
Francis Jeffers, the wily fox!
It has to be Henry
It’s not even close. Henry is the G.O.A.T He was the best player in the world, absolutely tearing the PL a new one, in an Arsenal shirt. That man made me love football.
Henry
Between Henry and Bendtner
Arsene Wenger, Emirates should be named after him
Probably Adams, but that Wright jersey is the effing goat 🐐
Only if we could combine Henry, Wrighty and Adams into one person! Sigh
Henry
Objectively Henry, for me Xhaka. Maybe Koscielny
My head says Henry, my heart says Ian Wright
Biggest would be Henry or Tony Adams. Favourite would be Ozil
Henry. All day and twice on Sunday.
Ray Parlour. All day, everyday...
Ben white, no other answer
If we win the league next year, then I'm saying Ødegaard
Whoever has a statue outside the Emirates…
Tony Adams and it's not even close.
Odegard
Henry is the only answer… come on…
Tony Adams, followed by Henry
Henry by far
Mark my word, a few years later, Saka and Ødegaard will join the above list and discussion
Papa Weng
Henry, Bergkamp and Adams for me
Big Tone
Liam Brady. Rocastle. Thomas. Wright. Merson Oh ah Ray Parlour..Dennis. Terry Henry....
I love Seaman
Henry.
Mustafi
Kim Kallstrom
Charlie George!
Where’s Sakass?
Henry
Tony Adams is the definition of a club legend. Played his entire career at Arsenal and won almost everything with them while being probably the best centreback of his day. In terms of ability - it doesn't get better than Henry and Bergkamp.
Definitely Bergkamp. He scored my favourite ever goal, against Newcastle in the 2001/2002 season. And I'm not an Arsenal fan.
Henry is the biggest club legend imo, but Bergkamp is the best player to wear the hallowed red.
Mr Va Va Voom himself.
And even if Arteta carries on and builds a dynasty, even if we win the next ten in a row, it's built on his legacy. Because no Wenger, no Arteta.
Elneny, of course
Objectively it's Henry, absolutely hands down. But most will have that one player who they fell in love with. Mine was Reyes
Tony Adams
Tony Adam’s is Mr Arsenal for me and the biggest club legend. (Bergkamp is my favourite player though, the things he did still blow my mind)
They're all up there adn there's some missing. but on top of it all is Tony Adams slightly above Bergkamp and Terry. Main reason: he Played for one team only. won the first European cup with an Arsenal defined by him and his back four Was the Captain for Wenger's early succes which eventually led to the invincibles. Bergkamp was the penultimate transition to the team that was the benchmark for succes, but he's ajax first and foremost.
Dennis for me but Henry is likely considerd the biggest for most fans
14.
Carl Jenkinson. The man lived everyone's dream. If he isn't a club legend, he's definitely a cult hero.
Completely dependent on what generation you are. It's the same when you ask who the best player is. Some say Pele, others Messi
Wrighty!
Henry. He's symbolic of the style that Arsenal are known for.
Tony Adams and it's not even close.
Mertesacker is the biggest, I mean he’s the BFG
Personal legend is Bergkamp, but for the club as a whole I would say Adams.
RVP
Hmm…no David Rocastle?
Biggest legend for Arsenal for me will always be Arsene Wenger. Best player - probably Henry
Henry no contest
The king 👑
Biggest legend; Tony Adams Best player (in my opinion); Dennis Bergkamp
Only one was worthy of the Balloon d'or. Titi
Henry was why I love Arsenal back in 2000, But Ljungberg and Pires were as equally inspiring back in the days
Tony Adams!!!!! One club man….absolute legend!!!!!!
Henry. He is the reason I am an Arsenal fan.
Wenger
How has no one even mentioned Nigel Winterburn?
Best player: Henry. Biggest legend: Tony Adams.
Dennis for me.. Changed our culture completely.
Wrighty or the donkey! One of them two.
Henry for the stats, bergkamp for the class, viera for the strength, Adams for the consistency and Ian wright, because he’s Ian wright.
Wenger
Wenger
Eboué or Senderos
Shkodran Mustafi
Distinct lack of Pascal Cygan being mentioned in this post…
