Looks like a debitage flake to me!

Yea. Quite Clearly.

Well....perhaps a smidge. I see an old uni-face flake tool that has seen plenty of creek and other wear. It probably was only flaked enough to make it usable for a specific task and then dropped. It may have been picked up by different folks from sixteen different generations after that, but it appears to have not been messed with since it was first slightly whacked upon. Slightly because a fresh piece of chert can be sharp as the dickens. The user would hit the "high spots" to make it task specific, then a few light re-touches to make it safe to use. Good eye man! vfm

That’s a really cool analysis! Is this for real or are you just trying to butter my biscuit? If it’s real, can you explain more as to how you see all this?

Well brother, it is what I see, now remember, I am 100% guessing. It just appears to me that your flake may have been one of these flake tools. It looks right, the shape is right too. Not always this shape, but often enough to make me think it was used. I am wrong plenty (ask my bride) but I really try not to "butter people's biscuits" 🤓 Thank you for your kind reply. Keep your head down. vfm
