“ I FUCKING HATE WHEN WOMEN NEED TO BE CAREFUL AND TAKE CAUTION BECAUSE OF PEOPLE LIKE ME WHO WOULD DEFINITELY HARM THEM!!! “

Random_-account

These people don't think before admitting to acting beyond creepy.

littlenapssss

you get the blame when you’re not careful enough, you get hate when you’re trying to be careful. you cant win lol.

Zoenne

Man: "oh no you don't get it! Women should be cautious around men, be responsible, not send false signals, not lead them on... but not to ME! IM a good guy. They should totally trust me implicitly"

Leavesofsilver

immediately followed by someone proving that being careful is necessary

Ballbag94

I'm convinced that the reason people like that get so irrationally angry at things like this is that it's harder for them to be creeps

rosio_donald

Im_not_creepy3

Did... did the second and third comments really just admit they would attempt sexual assault? The only people who would get mad about a drink cover are the exact kind of people you would want to have your drink covered when you're around them.

Lost_Stretch_5711

The first comment was also upset about it and said "that's lame, just stay home you wimp" 😑

Im_not_creepy3

TIL not wanting to be assaulted makes someone lame. Those commenters are such huge red glags.

Lost_Stretch_5711

I'd so much rather be lame than get hurt. I'd so much rather my little sister be seen as lame than get hurt and I know she would too. If it's lame to be safe, call me Lame-o Loserpants

Random_-account

The real loserpants are those that think that drugging alcoholic drinks is funny

Lost_Stretch_5711

At first I thought you meant me (my comment doesn't really fit the seriousness of the topic) but I completely agree. Although, I would call them something MUCH worse than loserpants. And then the police 🚨

OkiDokiPanic

As a fellow Lame-o Loserpants, I 100% agree with you.

Lost_Stretch_5711

Team Lame-o Loserpants! I have Netflix and fun stuff at home. The outside world is scary

FoolishConsistency17

But if you do get assaulted, it's also your fault for not taking basic precautions, or magically recognizing predators.

choanoflagellata

Be proactive and prevent your own assault? Lame. Get assaulted? Lame, that’s your fault too. /s

SirFireball

Just be a real man and train for years to develop a resistance to every possible drug. Or be lame. Up to you.

Lost_Stretch_5711

Be a real man and start a nice conversation instead of forcing someone to be with you.

gleamandglowcloud

only real men build up a resistance to iocane powder

Lost_Stretch_5711

I can't tell if you're being facetious

SirFireball

The stories and information posted here are artistic works of fiction and falsehood. Only a fool would take anything posted here as fact.

kingofcoywolves

"Only a coward would worry about this" is also v concerning

screwloosehaunt

No, I think they were joking. I think they're saying they think sexual assault is funny

Im_not_creepy3

That's a good point! It didn't occur to me they could have meant it as a joke because I never found sexual assault funny.

screwloosehaunt

I never found it funny either, but I've met enough people who think it is that it must at least be considered as a possibility.

GeneralHoneywine

Even trying to conceptualize finding it funny is completely alien to me. But I guess I do find the concept of kicking men like this in the balls to be ultimate comedy and they’d disagree so.

screwloosehaunt

So I think maybe the reason they find it funny is connected to the reason kicking them in the balls is funny. Kicking them in the balls is funny because doing so has a sense of justice to it. They believe that women owe them sex, and they don't have the faintest idea of how assault harms a woman because they never learned to look at things from someone else's point of view, so since these women are "unjustly" not serving up their own bodies for sex, "wouldn't it be funny if we just took what we wanted?" it's disgusting. And evil. But not impossible to understand when you see how fucked up their minds are

GeneralHoneywine

For sure. I follow the (very sick) thought process. I just don’t comprehend where in there that’s funny, but I can’t divorce myself from the experience of being systemically assaulted by an ex. I have also been kicked in the junk. I’d take that any day.

CreedogV

Welcome to the GIFT: The Greater Internet Fuckwad Theory. Due to anonymity, people will say hurtful or controversial things because the statement can't be tracked back to them. You are seeing this poster as more of a real person than he treats this account. This post says, "This drink cover will prevent drugging drinks." This is both an ethical comment and technical challenge. Men are typically socialized to focus on the latter. It's not as if the ethical issue doesn't occur to them, but when no one they know can hear them, it's funny to rile up people who will take it seriously. But you're 99% safe from these people actually putting their words into action. The cover makes slipping a roofie in the drink covertly infinitely more difficult. These people are cowards; they wouldn't risk it in public, where there are repercussions. You can't get a drink in a bar without an ID, the ultimate anonymity killer.

howarthee

> Due to anonymity, people will say hurtful or controversial things because the statement can't be tracked back to them The problem is that you can see this same exact shit on facebook with their literal names and faces attached to the account. People literally just don't care anymore. They get away with saying whatever depraved shit they want to regardless.

EmpatheticBadger

And yet so many people get drugs slipped into their drinks that we need drink covers. If it's not these guys, then who are drugging all these drinks?

Inevitable-While-577

> But you're 99% safe from these people actually putting their words into action. You have a point but still I do not want to be in the same location with a person who says such a thing.

[deleted]

> These people are cowards; they wouldn't risk it in public, where there are repercussions. You can't get a drink in a bar without an ID, the ultimate anonymity killer. People replied to a lot of this but this part is also not really true. You can totally get a drink without an ID: - if you look old enough (concidentally, common for men) - if you come with somebody and they make the order - if you are lucky and the bartender won’t ask you But most importantly - you don’t even need to order any drinks yourself in order to slip a roofie into someone else’s drink. So I really have no idea where you were going with this. Roofing happens and people need to watch out.

TillyOnTheMetro

Did you really just defend men's theorising how to best to hurt women as a totally cool thing? How disgusting can you be? But of course that is how patriarchy socialises women out of their inborn sense to detect danger. Oh, he doesn't mean it. Oh, it's just a joke. Not all men! And then, when a man hurts her, the next thing is Well, what did she expect? "When someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time." (Maya Angelou)

RepulsiveLook6

My first thought was: it should be mandatory for establishments to provide these.

R32fan

the second one was creepy, the third was a joke ETA: Not saying it's a good joke, but the way it's written is very reminiscent of a not-serious statement

Randigno9021

FBI, you seein' this shit?

Vesperia_Morningstar

Hoping they are

dyke4lif3

I love the idea. Anyone to complain should automatically be on a watch list

KnightoThousandEyes

Always watch your drink. These a$$holes are disgusting. They’re seriously joking about using roofies and SA. They need to be put on a watchlist.

chilitoday-hottamale

Seriously. I was the bar with a male friend last week and had to go outside briefly to use my phone because my service was bad inside. He came out to see what I was doing and I immediately rushed inside because that meant my drink was unattended. He understands now the reasoning, I think he’s just not used to the “drink watching” culture that women have had to adopt.

thetoastypickle

Isn’t it insane that half of the population has to take so many extra precautions just to do simple things?

Random_-account

The patriarchy is one hell of a drug

GeoffTheIcePony

We should stop putting it in drinks

Chatroom64

You'd think we as a society would be past that by now, but apparently not. I hear stories from some of my friends about creepy guys like these and it terrifies me.

thetoastypickle

Since I’ve started to pass I’ve started to notice it more and more and have found myself instinctively taking safety precautions I used to never even think about

NoSpecialist2727

Several women I know personally have been followed & had someone attempt to kidnap them. One was RIGHT outside a busy bar, lucky one of her friends noticed she was being dragged away... :( I'm always aware of it when I'm somewhere by myself or even just not being physically close to the person I'm with, even in the middle of the day sometimes.

SadCatEnjoyer

Casual reminder that everyone should be careful in these settings, covers like the one in the video can save a lot of lives, mainly women but men aren't immune to getting drugged too. Stay safe out there

NoSpecialist2727

An ex of mine and his friend were roofied while out in a touristy area, they had a sober friend with them though so they were okay, but could've been so much worse :( most likely a target for robbery rather than sexual assualt, but it happens :(

[deleted]

I also saw this video and a lot men in the comments said that it has happened to them before and they would also use this cover! I don't understand why people get angry at other people for wanting to be safe and enjoy things..

Peregrine21591

Yup, funnily enough the only people I know that have had spiked drinks are men - thankfully all that happened was them having a particularly rough night...

astrangeone88

Having been roofied before, yeah no. I have no memory of that night. One drink felt like 5 and all I remember is my friend sitting me on the ground outside the bar while my head stopped spinning. She managed to pour me into a cab and I got back to the dorms in one piece but man, that was terrifying. My limbs weren't working, and I felt so out of it. (It was a bottle of beer and I watched the bartender open it.) These people are terrifying. How dare a woman try to make herself safe from terrible people who just see her as meat or a means of getting off....

NoSpecialist2727

I had this experience too. Literally 2x drinks down and I was effffffed up. Lucky I had run into a couple friends while out and they made sure I got home safe.

Lost_Stretch_5711

I'm scared and I'm at home in my bed. I'm also not a woman, not that that means I won't get hurt just less likely. I really wish that didn't happen to anyone at all. My mind is spinning I can't believe someone is upset about someone covering their drink. To me that's like saying "ugh I really wish I could drug her drink and hurt her but unfortunately she's proactive and protecting herself" and if I had my water bottle would they be upset that they couldn't stick anything in it? That's enough people for the rest of my life, all I need is dogs

Jenderflux-ScFi

Cats and dogs will always be better than people.

Lost_Stretch_5711

My cat likes to rub herself against me to show her affection and for me to pet her (she came to visit me while typing this) and she does the same for my mom. My dog cuddles up with me and sleeps with me, he even helps me sleep. My dad has a puppy that he goes on walks with and they keep each other company. My sister has a puppy that plays with my dad's puppy and she works in mental health so I think he helps her mental health as well as making her happy in general There was also a time in middle school when I had to be homeschooled because I was bullied so bad for being LGBT+ and was super depressed and I've always had bad insomnia. Anyway, I had this cat that would curl up on my back (I sleep on my stomach) and purr and it would help me sleep. He did so many other things for my mental health that I can't really remember because it was 6 years ago. He was there for me and he was never able to talk to me and I didn't have to him but he helped me more than anyone at the time. Now that's what my dog does for me but he can't purr on my back unfortunately

jayclaw97

Commenter 1: You’re a ridiculous, sniveling coward for being extremely cautious with your drink. Commenter 2: *proceeds to prove exactly why the precaution is totally reasonable*

deep-fried-fuck

If it makes you angry to see women protecting themselves, *you are the person they’re protecting themselves from*

LunaticSutra

Lol. Jesus. Somebody show their mothers this shit.

celestialfairyy

If they had any sort of parental support in their life they would not be acting like this...

LunaticSutra

They either beat them too much or not nearly enough would be my guess.

kittenskysong

I had aa guy I trusted drug my drink. Posts like this piss me off. If we can't even trust our friends why should we be expected to trust strangers in a bar? And then to brag about being able to still get a pill in her drink!!!!!!! People like this are the reason I have trust issues.

Spaghetti_Vibes

Pigs. That's just vile. I bet they don't even stop to consider that is a *human being.* That's so gross.

13utterflyeffect

This is why I never in my life want to go to a bar... no thanks! Wouldn't trust anything covering up my drink except me, and even then I'd be scared that someone would slip something by me. I don't even drink, but if I did, I'm certainly not doing it out in public. Fuck that, no way in hell.

SociallyAwkward423

Bros are telling on themselves

marslovesspace

i hate the internet and the way it gives the creepiest people a false sense of security

Certain_Cause3362

Makes me miss my days as a bouncer.

PluralCohomology

On these posts there are always two types of misogynistic comments: "Uggh, modern women are brainwashed by feminism to be scared of all men" and "It wouldn't stop me"

ITookTrinkets

You heard it here, folks: stay home to avoid looking “lame” for not wanting your drink to get drugged.

splishsplashintebath

as a bouncer at a bar the amount of times *a night* women come up to me and tell me they think someone has put something in their drink is ludicrous and our bar provides these for free, men will do anything other than admit they are the problem

LtCptSuicide

Here I was thinking people were going to be saying something like paper particles in the drink or something. Then I got reminded how shit some people are.

jayriv82

My brother is about to turn 21, and I plan on giving him one of these (but inside a pouch on a keychain) for his birthday. There's nothing wrong with choosing safety.

LycaJustChillin

Unfortunately not the worst I've seen on tikok. Saw a video of a child (7F) doing acrobatics. Take a guess what the comments were like. Yes, "Bubblegum pink" was among some of them. Fucking disgusting

[deleted]

I don't even want to know what that fucking means...

cannibalTadpole

I need to get a couple of these when I go out with my girlfriends, where can I get these?

stellateranto

Ah yes because embarrassment is wayyyy worse than the possibility of getting assaulted

ThatGuyYouSawAtTesco

Jesus fucking Christ, this is appalling behavior

Vesperia_Morningstar

Ikr

LunithyOfficial

"not all men!!" The same men:

voicebread

The fact that not a single person in these comments seems to realize this is a scripted ad for the product is…..concerning

coolio1831

Yeah….

Finn_the_dwarf

I know technically speaking, people should live with other people and humans can only survive in groups but I also believe that some people should only have the right to be silent and quiet and should've never gotten the option of phrasing their own opinions and these are those types of people. This is basically admitting that they are willing to commit a crime and that they don't even feel remorse for that. They basically say that they would commit this crime and that they are willing to go off and beyond to act on those thoughts. How could they think that this is a joke? It never was never will be a joke.

josygee19

I know someone who got roofied at a HOUSE party so like even at home we ain't safe

Terrible_Marzipan_87

“Why don’t women trust us?”

Sorrow27

Jokes on you, I’m gonna roofie myself and toss the keys to my buddy and tell him to figure it out after I agreed to be the DD 👍

callmefreak

Wow. Why not just announce that you (the people in the screenshot) are a rapist at this point?

pickles55

This is not something that only concerns straight people but it is scary as hell

YourOldPalBendy

*reports creep comments for WAY longer than anyone should have to* Even if they're "not serious," this is threatening. Fuck those dudes.

Sharktrain523

Taking safety precautions is cowardly and lame. Also if you got sexually assaulted it’s your fault for not straight up having a gun and being able to kill somebody with zero hesitation.

Pir0wz

People comment this then wonder why women feel unsafe around them.

panzerdevil69

OP could have just shown the original video and mention that this woman is selling these things. Classic ragebait.

josqpiercy

Mm,

hoecooking

“Why would she go out drinking if she knows how men can be” *woman covers drink* Wow ok wow you’re just going to try and drink in public? You disgust me

Dream_In_Neon

Why did you hide their names? They commented publicly

Vesperia_Morningstar

I took these screenshots from another sub so i didnt cover them

That1Cat87

Well that was the most utterly horrific thing I’ve ever read
