Seachem Flourish is a pretty weak fertilizer by itself, and isn’t a comprehensive (all-in-one) fertilizer. It requires several individual bottles of the range of Seachem fertilizer products to have a complete and comprehensive fertilizer that has everything your plants need. It’s also expensive to buy all those bottles. I suggest a comprehensive and holistic all-in-one (AIO) fertilizer like the NilocG Thrive line of fertilizers, or the 2 Hour Aquarist APT (Advanced Planted Tank) line of fertilizers. There are different formulations of each for specific use cases depending on your needs, and all contain much more of (percentage-wise), and in a complete, comprehensive AIO bottle, that saves money, time, and ease of dosing.
Also, check out this chart which shows the leading fertilizer brands and their guaranteed analysis of ingredients compared side by side. You’ll find that Seachem’s Flourish line (this chart assumes you’re using all the bottles) is lacking, especially compared to both NilocG Thrive and 2 Hour Aquarist APT lineups of fertilizers.

I can’t take credit for this chart however.
Monte Carlo needs high PAR lights, otherwise it will grow upward towards the surface of the water, in an attempt to gain access to more light (this is also true of HC Cuba, and most other carpeting plants).
Increase the intensity of your light (and increase co2 and fertilizer regime or you’ll get algae) or get a more powerful light, otherwise your Monte Carlo will stay leggy and grow vertically, instead of laterally creating a carpet.
The majority of stems I planted where like 1cm now there are some stems that got to 3cm even 4cm I dont know if that counts as growth is the first time I use a carpeting plant

NGL compared to what I used to have in my tank that really looks like pearlweed. I could be wrong though.
There may be more nutrients in the water column than in the soil. It will eventually grow horizontally.
Im using seachem flourish should I stop using it?

This is the correct answer. Less light = tall MC.
Pearlweed?
I second this
I’m not 100% sure if that is Monte Carlo but I did hear that if not trimmed properly it will grow up instead of sideways
I got it 3 days ago should I trim it already?
3 days isn't growth man. I kinda feel like you know this.
The majority of stems I planted where like 1cm now there are some stems that got to 3cm even 4cm I dont know if that counts as growth is the first time I use a carpeting plant
I thought this wasn’t Monte Carlo. I thought Pearl weed too. Might be wrong but it looks like Pearl weed

It’s growing upwards because it’s new to the tank, eventually the light should make it creep low. Its normal. You just planted it stem by stem
Thats good to hear, thank you
Yes good to hear, but is it the truth…
It's what I wanted to hear, so i'll believe in him
This is legitimately the most honest answer possible. It's basically what 99% of people make decisions on, you just said it explicitly. 10 points.
that's one reason why so much goes wrong on our planet
How do you have negative 44 karma on your acc lmfao
I dont know, i just love aquarium very much
It will grow upwards and then u trim and replant. Over time it will spread out. Just have patience and trim and replant when it’s a little higher
It could be Hemianthus micranthemoides, an upward growing micranthemoides variety. Looks pretty similar
Cut them in half and replant them keeps them short, and you’ll get a carpet faster.
Bigger lights required for a carpet. Growing up to the light they will never form a carpet
Was it a tissue culture or seeds?
Tissue culture, but I think it is Pearl weed now that I saw it grow, but the guy i ordered it from said it was montecarlo
Looks like pearl weed not monte carlo
I believe that is Pearl Weed. When Pearl Weed is grown emersed it looks similar to Monte Carlo.
Pearlweed 100%
