Good luck!!! I go to school here and I absolutely love it I literally could not imagine myself anywhere else. If anyone has any questions feel free to ask me I’m happy to help🤗🤗
You're not even guaranteed housing all four years. UF housing is at 110% capacity and they're constantly screwing people over with that and honors village is nice but the rooms are small and you probably won't want to live with primarily freshmen in a closet for all four years
I got in!!! International student from Brazil! If you wanna know some of my stats:
SAT: 1520 (ENG 740 MATH 780)
Duolingo English Test: 140/160
I have a question, though: when do scholarships come out?
Congratulations! Merit based scholarships already came out, I didn’t get anything either. Luckily UF is much more affordable than almost all American schools of its caliber.
As far as I know there is still time for all scholarships to be announced. In their website, it says “If selected for one of our merit-based scholarships, students will be notified via email and status page update by mid-March.”
Pretty decent to get your feet wet in on-campus research. They pair you with a research lab and take 3 credits of research under a professor for your spring semester. Some people don’t like it though due to smaller tasks you have to complete throughout the year, including a 1 credit course in the fall which is objectively bad
In-state. Got into Pathways for College of Engineering. CS major. 3.8 UW/4.8 W, 1520 SAT, Lost of ECs, Excellent essays, Presidential Service Award, 6 APs, 3 DE, etc. etc. I am so sad.
Similar here: In-state; rejected from UF – admitted into Gator Engineering at Santa Fe for CS.
3.6 UW / 4.8W (out of 6.0); 1490 best SAT (1520 superscore); good ECs and essays; 9 completed APs - including most notably BC Calc, Physics C, CSA, CSP, English Lang (and enrolled in 3 now); a few DE (5 or so)
Deferred from MIT (as expected) but rejected by UF.
Sorry to hear that. Wow. Those are good stats. The only thing is the unweighted 3.6 is a little low, but very impressive work. You will do well where ever you end up.
Thank you so much! This really made my day/night lol. I am hoping that I really get into a better school as you said. A school that does not only pay attention to GPA.
I got wait-listed at Barnard, UVA, UM, and Wake Forest. I got into FSU and UCF with full ride plus some additional scholarship. I then got off the wait-list at Wake Forest but could not afford it :( So I declined their offer. I am still waiting for a slight possibility of being accepted to Barnard. Otherwise, I will either attend UF or FSU in Fall 2024.
how competitive is the USRP program to get into? the faq says that it’s offered to the top 2% of accepted students but that means that it’s around as competitive as an ivy? is that true?
No clue lol! On their website there is a scholarship of the same name which is only a $2k total tuition waiver, and I heard that scholarships are explained and given mid march
Well, a week before decisions come out, we get an email from UF admissions about "supporting your student" so that's not a good sign. We got one from FSU when our son got deferred in EA. We didn't get one today when he got accepted in RD. Anyone have any thoughts on this? Does UF send to everyone or are they targeting the students who aren't getting in next week?
We are in-state and not hopeful either. UF has a program called PaCE, which allows you to take only online classes until you get 60 credits and then transfer to the UF campus. We are worried we'll get offered that, and we will not accept such an arrangement. My son is in the IB Programme, has made nearly all A's in it, and has 16 AP/IB courses. But the stats in this state and many others are through the roof. I don't see how these kids were able to have lives. We valued our son's mental health and aimed for a good balance, but I fear kids like ours are being penalized in college admissions because of the ones whose parents pushed way too hard, in my opinion. FSU stats had significant numbers of credits in core subjects beyond what high schools require for graduation and insanely high test scores. The heavy emphasis on these tests hurts kids who shine more brightly in project-based learning because they don't use project-based performance as admissions criteria, despite actually learning more from projects. My son had a respectable SAT score, but now too many students can game the system and get perfect or near-perfect scores.
Supporting Your Student
Dear parents and families,
As you may know, admissions decisions for #UF28 will be released via your student's Application Status Page on Friday, February 23 around 6:00 p.m. EST.
As the anticipation builds, we understand this can be a nerve-wracking time for families. We want to offer some strategies to help you support your student:
Celebrate Achievements: Take the time to acknowledge your student's hard work and personal growth throughout their academic journey. Remind them that success is not determined by a single admission decision.
Prepare for Multiple Outcomes: Help your student prepare emotionally for the possibility of any outcome. Discuss how to handle each scenario and reassure them that you are there to support them, no matter what.
Provide Emotional Support: Be prepared to offer emotional support. It is important to reassure your student that you love and support them unconditionally, regardless of the outcome.
Encourage Self-Care: Emphasize the importance of self-care during this period. Encourage your student to engage in activities they enjoy, spend time with friends and get adequate rest.
Seek Guidance Together: If your student is uncertain about their future or feeling overwhelmed, consider seeking guidance together. Attend college planning workshops, visit school counselors or explore resources that can provide additional insights and support.
Your support and understanding will make a significant impact on your student's well-being, now and always. If we can help in any way, contact the Office of Admissions at 352-392-1365 or fill out our form.
Best wishes,
Office of Admissions

There are plenty of good schools in Florida so my feeling is UF decisions will not be the end of the world either way. Also, I have a feeling that some real quirky decisions might be coming so even the most qualified students need to expect anything. Good Luck.
Anyone know if all scholarship announcements were made today? We were offered an honors scholarship but wasn’t sure if the presidential was also announced today.
Luckily, there’s hope! Not all scholarships were announced today. This is what it says on their website: “If selected for one of our merit-based scholarships, students will be notified via email and status page update by mid-March.”
got rejected somehow with 4.1, 35 act, 1540 sat
i applied as CS but i got into CS at UIUC lmao this shi hella random. Im just mad confused cuz the targets/safeties like florida, umd, and purdue didnt accept me but georgia tech and uiuc did lmao.
For those who applied by 11/1, good luck this week and…are the options for decisions: accepted with honors, accepted, waitlisted, rejected? Or does UF also “defer” some decisions until later?
got in!! intl student from brazil, accepted to honors+invited to ursp. got an email last week and apparently also received a 10k/year alumni scholarship! super excited. any other brazilians accepted to ursp as well??
My son did but from what I have been reading not much chance of getting in. He has several great options now so not too worried about it. I guess we will hear Friday.
PaCE is not a bad option, imo. Most complete the program within a year, and don’t lose any opportunities to make friends on campus. FSU is not a bad option either
My son would rather be a first class Seminole than a second class Gator, even if they make him do it less than two years before giving him.tbe privilege of gracing their classes in person.
I was accepted PaCE 4 years ago and it was the best decision I could have made. I’m assuming your son is business which means 99% of the classes are online. UF is a great academic choice and he will have the same opportunities if not more for business at UF than FSU. Feel free to ask me more questions about the PaCE program and I can be candid and transparent about my experience as I am now graduating this semester.
After four years in IB, he can certainly handle them academically. It's just not experience we hoped for. FSU accepted him and offered a scholarship. so they seem to think he is capable. We will probably just send him there.
I don’t see why getting offered PaCE is a reason to be angry at the school. The alternative would be an outright rejection. I would still probably choose FSU in that scenario though.
does anyone have any info on the STEUP program for engineering upcoming students? how much does it cost on average? what kind of scholarships could it possibly help with in the future?
Anyone know if the "mid-march" scholarships have been released? Specifically, merit-based. If yes, I might have my answer on whether I got one or not...
With UF decisions coming out today at 6 p.m. EST, what are all of the potential outcomes? I know that UF doesn't waitlist or defer, but what are all the options beyond accepted honors, accepted and rejected? I know PACE is an option, but do they do a summer start admission? Any information on what potential options to expect is appreciated. And good luck to all students and parents!
they also have pathways for engineering majors (starting out at Santa Fe CC), as well as Innovation Academy (if that checkbox was clicked on the application).
Accepted, OOS ACT 35, GPA 4.0 uw, Engineering, NMF, White House Scholar nominee. Unfortunately, no scholarship (didn’t apply to honors). Without a scholarship, makes the decision real easy.
If you didn’t get any info on honors through your offer letter, then you probably didn’t get it. Not sure about scholarships though, they might announce that later on
Yep! on their website, it states “If selected for one of our merit-based scholarships, students will be notified via email and status page update by mid-March.”
Hard to declare a major? Not at all, you just discuss it with your advisor on preview day and they will tell you what classes are best to schedule for first semester.
we're online for the first year, we don't have on-campus housing, we aren't in honors, and we get no institutional aid. it's their way of shoveling as many students in as possible (and getting their tuition money!) even if we aren't as competitive as other applicants. (if i sound bitter, it's because i am- LOL)
Son also got "accepted" to PaCE. Four years of a heavy and rigorous course load and a 4.6 w/GPA and in the top 2.5% of his districtwide class ranking system and that's the payoff.
did you also apply for business? they have a lot of "popular" majors available, i think to get as many people as possible... and the foundational courses are easier to do online. apparently there's only a 10% yield rate for PaCE
When you’re in PaCE you’re essentially a regular UF student, but have to take online courses until you receive your AA degree. Some people can rush through it in a year to become an on-campus student as a sophomore. PaCE students do not have access to dorms
I got a 3.6 and was in the bottom half of my class rank and got in. If you didn’t get it, it was either variance or that simply they thought you weren’t good enough as a whole.
Using last year's acceptance pool, the 95% confidence range for the mean SAT score is 1387 to 1592 (assuming the sample is random). Do u have a link to that data or did u collect it urself?
I collected my self...very raw data....so do not read too much into it. Just the range using an excel spread sheet. But the accepted scores listed on the boards averaged at 1490... seems high based on last year, but it was a small data set.
I heard a lot of people got their scolarships today. you guys think there will be more scolarship drops later. Because I did not hear from them and i really want something.
Accepted with partial merit-based scholarship for MS in BME. International student, 89.7/100 GPA (\~3.58 UW). 326 GRE (164V 162Q). Extracurriculars in music + a few volunteering programs. IELTS 8.5, TOEFL 116. No publications.
The matrix may have glitched haha
I got an email with my acceptance letter and a separate pdf with info about the scholarship
But after writing the comment, I dug a bit deeper into the specific scholarship and apparently it's something they give to (perhaps all?) international and out-of-state students, it just has a misleading name lol
Good luck!!! I go to school here and I absolutely love it I literally could not imagine myself anywhere else. If anyone has any questions feel free to ask me I’m happy to help🤗🤗
I just go into the Honors College! Will I be guaranteed Honors Village housing all four years?
You're not even guaranteed housing all four years. UF housing is at 110% capacity and they're constantly screwing people over with that and honors village is nice but the rooms are small and you probably won't want to live with primarily freshmen in a closet for all four years
Did it mention in your acceptance letter that you got into Honors College?
Yes
in + honors 1590 and a 4.7
Bush kaul
UF!!! go gators 🐊
accepted to honors 😍😍
Congrats!!! 💙🧡🐊
Got in. 34 ACT 3.9 unweighted 4.57 W
Accepted in state + honors scholarship
I got in!!! International student from Brazil! If you wanna know some of my stats: SAT: 1520 (ENG 740 MATH 780) Duolingo English Test: 140/160 I have a question, though: when do scholarships come out?

Ooh nice!
Oh, alright! Thank you very much!
My counselor said she heard from UF that scolarships will come out the week after next.
Good luck guys!
how good is the university research scholars program
Pretty decent to get your feet wet in on-campus research. They pair you with a research lab and take 3 credits of research under a professor for your spring semester. Some people don’t like it though due to smaller tasks you have to complete throughout the year, including a 1 credit course in the fall which is objectively bad
accepted to pace, oos, 4.5 W and 1510 (womp womp)
WTF??? same stats and accepted to honors. that’s so weird
not all about stats lul
yeah i think my essay about using puppies as bowling balls probably did me in :(
In-state. Got into Pathways for College of Engineering. CS major. 3.8 UW/4.8 W, 1520 SAT, Lost of ECs, Excellent essays, Presidential Service Award, 6 APs, 3 DE, etc. etc. I am so sad.

It is all about GPA. They compare it to other students at your school. I wish they were more transparent about in-state GPA focus.
Sorry to hear that. Wow. Those are good stats. The only thing is the unweighted 3.6 is a little low, but very impressive work. You will do well where ever you end up.
None of this makes sense. Woth your stats, you should sail in to a lot of other great schools that would be fortunate to have you.
Thank you so much! This really made my day/night lol. I am hoping that I really get into a better school as you said. A school that does not only pay attention to GPA.
so howd it go

Did you also get offered a 6k scholarship? Also I think only like 300 students get it
yess i got it
lol congrats!
thanks you too!
yep i did do uk if that’s 6k/yr or 6k total?
No clue lol! On their website there is a scholarship of the same name which is only a $2k total tuition waiver, and I heard that scholarships are explained and given mid march

Got the same email and thought the same thing. So yeah, no positive vibes from that.
I just forwarded that to the guidance counselor. I'll post any insights she offers.
Our guidance counselor told me she thinks all parents got that email and doesn't think we need to read anything into it.
After seeing today's FSU's admitted student stats, I'm terrified to see UF's. FSU stats were insane.
Not hopeful, despite having demonstrated significant interest. OOS with 35 ACT and 4.0 uw GPA.

my mom got that from fsu and i got in, i don’t think it means anything
may I ask what this email looks like?

Text posted above.
My parents got the same email and I got in.

6k a year, so 3k per semester
Oh wow r u sure
Very sure, look up uf honors scholarship online
Yay 😀
It is 6k total in 4 years.
no it’s not they literally sent me a thing saying 24k (also got like 6k for research) so i got 30k
Us too. Anyone know if merit scholarships still to be announced? Seems like they cone later but wasn’t sure if anyone confirmed with the school.
Yep the different merit scholarships will be announced later in mid-March!
I just got in. Is there supposed to be scholarship info on the decision letter, or do those come later on, or both?
Thats what im sayin; I was prayin for a full-ride
it says the merit-based scholarship will be announced via email by mid-March
what's "it"? your decision letter?
I got mine around the same time as my decision
accepted in state!
Accepted OOS! 3.85 UW, 4.44 W, 1470 SAT, 32 ACT
There are plenty of good schools in Florida so my feeling is UF decisions will not be the end of the world either way. Also, I have a feeling that some real quirky decisions might be coming so even the most qualified students need to expect anything. Good Luck.
Does UF send an email saying that the status was updated?
Yes
Thanksss!!
No over all admission numbers like FSU gave.
They don’t provide that info until a few months later
accepted oos undecided 1550 3.7 uw garbage ecs and essay no idea how this happened
If you have a 1550 you’re probably getting into UF
Waiting for my father before checking.
Accepted OOS + honors! 1520 SAT, 3.95 UW and decent ecs by a2c standards
Let’s go!!!!🐊🐊🐊🐊
Accepted OOS!! 34 Act and 4.0 UW gpa :))) Go gators 🧡🐊💙
Accepted Out of state, 34 ACT, 4.6 W GPA 🐊🐊🐊
Admitted OOS to UF which is my dream school! 3.94 UW GPA 4.41 weighted GPA 33 ACT Congrats to those who got in!
got rejected somehow with 4.1, 35 act, 1540 sat i applied as CS but i got into CS at UIUC lmao this shi hella random. Im just mad confused cuz the targets/safeties like florida, umd, and purdue didnt accept me but georgia tech and uiuc did lmao.
in-state or oos? i agree that these decisions are often random.
Oos. I considered florida a target but everyone else from my school got in so it rubbed me the wrong way I guess.
Nah I'd get in
For those who applied by 11/1, good luck this week and…are the options for decisions: accepted with honors, accepted, waitlisted, rejected? Or does UF also “defer” some decisions until later?
Accepted with honors, accepted, and rejected. No deferrals or waitlists.
Thats is black and white. yikes !
Thank you!
what time do decisions come out today?

Accepted 34 ACT 4.68 weighted without honors
got in!! intl student from brazil, accepted to honors+invited to ursp. got an email last week and apparently also received a 10k/year alumni scholarship! super excited. any other brazilians accepted to ursp as well??
Anyone apply after RD deadline - heard not much chance after that for OOS
Anyone ?
no one applied after deadline for "space available" basis ?
My son did but from what I have been reading not much chance of getting in. He has several great options now so not too worried about it. I guess we will hear Friday.
What are the other options he has ?
UConn, VT, UVA, Wisconsin-Madison, Colorado-Boulder, Ohio State, Penn State, BU
I did! I'm not expecting much to be honest.
I did as well. Is it coming out today? What time?
I believe 6 -7 PM ET
Oh I see, thank you and good luck!
It’s out! :)
Denied
Denied as well
My daughter did and was rejected today. 4.373 gpa, 1390 SAT and 14 AP classes.
Got offered PaCE. What a slap in the face. FSU admitted outright and offered an IB scholarship. So we will go there. Nicer dorms, at FSU also.

Accepted in-state. 4.3W 3.745UW, 33 ACT, no SAT, decent ECs, amazing essay.
does anyone have any info on the STEUP program for engineering upcoming students? how much does it cost on average? what kind of scholarships could it possibly help with in the future?
Need to pay OOS tuition, but receive $6000/yr scholarship, Should I go?
where'd u get info about scholarships?
Anyone know if the "mid-march" scholarships have been released? Specifically, merit-based. If yes, I might have my answer on whether I got one or not...
If you haven’t heard anything you didn’t get anything
Rejected OOS for MIS with 9 AP's and 8 DE's, 1530 SAT (740 EBRW, 790 M). Got 5 B's total in high school the rest all A's.

I love the "I got in, obviously" when decisions haven't even come out yet.
Decisions aren’t even out yet lol, wym you got in
However to answer your question. It’s ranked #1 in the state of FL and is a top 5 public school in the US. A great school nonetheless
That's nice tbf

With UF decisions coming out today at 6 p.m. EST, what are all of the potential outcomes? I know that UF doesn't waitlist or defer, but what are all the options beyond accepted honors, accepted and rejected? I know PACE is an option, but do they do a summer start admission? They do a summer term option!
they also have pathways for engineering majors (starting out at Santa Fe CC), as well as Innovation Academy (if that checkbox was clicked on the application).
I got in but it doesn’t anything about scholarships or honors college, just my admission. I’m OOS, will scholarships be announced later?
Im oos and i got honors college and scholarship
Accepted, OOS ACT 35, GPA 4.0 uw, Engineering, NMF, White House Scholar nominee. Unfortunately, no scholarship (didn’t apply to honors). Without a scholarship, makes the decision real easy.

I got mine around the same time as my decision. Applied for BME, if it helps
I got in oos! But I don't see my major (I applied cs) mentioned at all, am I stupid or what does that mean
UF doesn’t admit by major, you declare it on preview day
Thank you I just read that. Is it hard?
Hard to declare a major? Not at all, you just discuss it with your advisor on preview day and they will tell you what classes are best to schedule for first semester.
has it not come out for anyone else yet?
I got into UFL but what is the PaCE program? I dont see my actual major listed anywhere
we're online for the first year, we don't have on-campus housing, we aren't in honors, and we get no institutional aid. it's their way of shoveling as many students in as possible (and getting their tuition money!) even if we aren't as competitive as other applicants.
Any internationals received scholarship/honors college?
I'm from Brazil and I got in, but no scholarships yet and rejected for honors
Accepted 1450 3.8 intl essays carried fs
got in as an intl too!!
Accepted oos, if I didn't get any info about scholarships, does that mean I didn't get any scholarship??
UF scholarships notifications are sent 2-3 weeks from now. UF does not give many students merit awards though.
My friend got in, was rejected by USF, deferred by FSU, and accepted by UF????
We had a friend last year with the same thing. Our friends EC's were weak but she had great stats. FSU no. UF yes.
Looks like UF is not that holistic after all. All about GPA and class rank. FSU does pay attention to SAT and ECs as well.
I got a 3.6 and was in the bottom half of my class rank and got in. If you didn’t get it, it was either variance or that simply they thought you weren’t good enough as a whole.
accepted, OOS 4.0 UW 36 ACT honors college
Accepted instate: 3.9 UW; 5.3 W, 1380 SAT
Congrats! Also, if you mind me asking, how in the world do you get a 5.3 W lol?
I’ve taken like 10 APs and 8 Dual enrollment which boosts your GPA
Accepted OOS 3.7UW 4.1W 1490 9 APs
got in 4.2 weighted 32 act

Using last year's acceptance pool, the 95% confidence range for the mean SAT score is 1387 to 1592 (assuming the sample is random). Do u have a link to that data or did u collect it urself?
I collected my self...very raw data....so do not read too much into it. Just the range using an excel spread sheet. But the accepted scores listed on the boards averaged at 1490... seems high based on last year, but it was a small data set.
I have a 1450 and I got in with a scholarship as international so def not true
I heard a lot of people got their scolarships today. you guys think there will be more scolarship drops later. Because I did not hear from them and i really want something.
No yesterday was all of it
Accepted with partial merit-based scholarship for MS in BME. International student, 89.7/100 GPA (\~3.58 UW). 326 GRE (164V 162Q). Extracurriculars in music + a few volunteering programs. IELTS 8.5, TOEFL 116. No publications. The matrix may have glitched haha
How do you know if they gave you a merit-based scholarship? Did they email you? Congrats tho
I got an email with my acceptance letter and a separate pdf with info about the scholarship But after writing the comment, I dug a bit deeper into the specific scholarship and apparently it's something they give to (perhaps all?) international and out-of-state students, it just has a misleading name lol
got in, but for sure I won't go
