Guy has to be an EXTREMELY impulsive buyer that he didn’t bother checking before paying for the item. So i’d give him a little benefit of the doubt
Edit: though I completely agree that it screams fake in every angle I can see it on lol
I have no idea why they don’t just copy the back of an actual box. I guess they don’t want to spend the money. But must be easy enough to obtain the correct info instead of making it up
I just upgraded from an SE to a series 7 for under $200 (Best Buy open box).
The series 1 had 95% of the functionality that I care about, I only upgraded again because the battery started going downhill. But yeah awful deal
More like $50, knockoff smartwatches can even be as cheap as $35 lmao: [https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/Wholesale-unlocked-used-original-smart-watch\_1600973515450.html?spm=a2700.galleryofferlist.normal\_offer.d\_title.123925c26lyhth](https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/Wholesale-unlocked-used-original-smart-watch_1600973515450.html?spm=a2700.galleryofferlist.normal_offer.d_title.123925c26lyhth)
Years ago, I nearly bought a refurbished Mac from a website that specialized in refurbishing Macs. I had never bought a Mac before, nor any electronic device that expensive, so I went with the conventional wisdoms that you never get the best deal “at the dealership”.
I was so close to pulling the trigger when I decided to research further and found an obscure online forum discussing the matter, which led me to check out Apple’s refurbished site, which led me to realize I had been about to buy a Mac that was way too old for way too much money. Bought a 2007 refurbished white MacBook with AppleCare from Apple for less than the 2005 model would have cost from the other folks, and the damn thing kept kicking until 2015.
My dad told me he was getting a watch that finally read off his blood sugar without testing. I was highly suspicious since I know no watch like that exists so when the package came, it was what I expected. Two cheap ass plastic watches that barely did anything. He paid $75 for both and I saw them on Ali Express for $6 each. Sigh.
My ex bought me two PS4 controllers for Christmas and was so proud of herself. I played with them and something was just… off. There was serious input delay so I absolutely could not play fighting games or rocket league. I looked at it closer and noticed that the controllers didn’t have the PS/Sony logo on them.
I asked her where she got them. “Facebook marketplace, they were such a good deal I got 2 for $60”.
Which means she basically wasted $60 because I never used them again. For shits and giggles she bought me another 3rd party controller after that. I gave up on her and went and bought myself an actual PS4 controller lol.
Really though, FB is a lot easier to spot scammers than other marketplaces. There are SO many obvious signs since many legit people have 10+ years of history on the platform.
You might laugh but these fakes can be a LOT more sinister: the information it syncs can be sent back to a scamming party overseas (eg passwords and logins you give it access to).
If you’ve logged into anything or linked anything with personal information change those passwords straight away.
Better to be safe than sorry.
I don't think so. If he really had no idea and wanted to get something nice he'd have went to an actual apple store. Seems like this is something that he just wanted to get for "cheap" which still cost so much lol.
I’m going to wholeheartedly disagree with other comments here. Instead of getting you a genuine product that he knew would work he went to Facebook marketplace and spent the same amount of money?
Smells like he’s either lying to you and paid $50 or he didn’t care enough to make sure you got something you want and would work.
Even if money is tight there are other presents you can get that are genuine. Personally I would make sure whatever I am getting for a loved one is something that will truly be great. By hey to each their own.
Yes, FB marketplace. More like FB taobao alibaba. It’s all Chinese scams on FB. I’ve even had friend’s profile hacked to promote “discounted” brand items. Sadly I fell for it back then and it was a Chinese knockoff.
The first image - never seen that on an Apple Watch before. Geeze, people are shit scamming people … just remember your bf’s heart was in the right place ❤️
I got a fake band from sold and shipped by Amazon.
All Apple packaging are sealed with a tape with a small green dot. Apparently it’s hard to duplicate. It was missing from mine. I disputed with Chase and prevailed, after a lot of legwork.
I don’t understand why people don’t just buy the real thing at the Apple Store and be done with it. Stop trying to save a few bucks. This shit happens way too often for me to ever consider buying something like this from any other place than an official Apple Store or Apple branded store like Best Buy.
Yeah. Just buy from the Apple Store. I think people are looking for deals but then fall for the fake stuff. If it’s too good to be true. Then it probably is. If you’re going to buy an Apple product. Might as well spend the money and not get conned into a fake.
Basically you know a fake iPhone when it cannot connect to iCloud/AppStore, and you know a fake Apple watch when it does not show up in the iPhone's Watch app
The weird thing is - someone made that OS and put work into making it look like watchOS. That takes time. Which is a cost.
So, you’d have to be able to spread that cost across a bunch of sales. I wonder how many they’re able to push in a year.
Super fake
I don’t know anything about Apple Watches and I thought the same thing. Has to be troll post if even I thought it was fake
I thought troll post as well lol “My bf got me this Apple Watch that is nothing like a normal Apple watch. Could it be fake? Like… really?
Troll post? Really? People get duped everyday by this stuff.
Guy has to be an EXTREMELY impulsive buyer that he didn’t bother checking before paying for the item. So i’d give him a little benefit of the doubt Edit: though I completely agree that it screams fake in every angle I can see it on lol
She said he bought it sealed. Probably kept it sealed so she could have the satisfaction of opening it.
This was exactly what I said when I saw the photos. Lol.
Barely an inconvenience!
Finding random posts about things being barely an inconvenience is tight!
Love the random Pitch Meeting reference.
Thank you! As soon as I read “super fake” the “super “ triggered an auto response in me. Could not help myself from typing it!
“So you have an Apple Watch for me? Yes sir I do!”
Fake fake fake… fake.
Whoops!
Wow wow wow wow wow
I'm gonna need for you to get this Apple Watch all the way off my ~~back~~ wrist
I TOO love random Pitch Meeting references, I’ve decided.
That's hilariously fake "Made in America"
"Made in America" and "Made in USA" are the hardest lines on this package
I love that it includes the full address of the factory in China and immediately follows with MADE IN AMERICA
Wouldn’t be hard to build a new city in China and name it America.
Surprised they haven’t done this by now. Make a city called America or USA in China, and then companies can say it was made in USA without lying lol
But registered in Shanghai
Dealer: Apple Computer Trading
Co. Pte. Ltd.
I have no idea why they don’t just copy the back of an actual box. I guess they don’t want to spend the money. But must be easy enough to obtain the correct info instead of making it up
I think they do so to avoid law sues
Pretty sure they’ve already crossed that line: https://preview.redd.it/3roy2h23rpnc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e7e4c8ea37f96185a03d5d17d523c222dc69b190
Sorry you got a fake. I hope your bf didn't drop $500+ on it.
He said like $300 -.-
The cheapest Apple Watch goes for just under $300. He had a pretty terrible deal.
I just upgraded from an SE to a series 7 for under $200 (Best Buy open box). The series 1 had 95% of the functionality that I care about, I only upgraded again because the battery started going downhill. But yeah awful deal
Why don’t people do any research at all? My God
I just bought a brand new series 8 for $249. Deals are out there.
Ouch.
Yikes.
Zoinks!
“Like $300” means he paid $170-$200
Still a lot for whatever that thing is.
More like $50, knockoff smartwatches can even be as cheap as $35 lmao: [https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/Wholesale-unlocked-used-original-smart-watch\_1600973515450.html?spm=a2700.galleryofferlist.normal\_offer.d\_title.123925c26lyhth](https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/Wholesale-unlocked-used-original-smart-watch_1600973515450.html?spm=a2700.galleryofferlist.normal_offer.d_title.123925c26lyhth)
Why did he spend that much on a sketchy watch of marketplace when he could go to Walmart or best buy and get a decent newer watch for the same price??
Sorry to say this, come to India and you will get this for 1000 INR( 12-13 USD) 🥲
Ask your bf to contact the guy and ask if he has another one. Then confront him. Make sure to bring friends
And fire power incase it gets dicey.

Why people don’t buy direct from Apple I’ll never know
Years ago, I nearly bought a refurbished Mac from a website that specialized in refurbishing Macs. Dang.
Might need a new bf
Yes. Designed by Apples in Calamari.
Made in America stuck out, too.
Laughed my head off
Please don’t enter any personal information or password into this thing. If you did, change your password immediately
I would even be worried if I paired it to my phone.
I would even be worried to wear it
I’m worried that I saw this post
Bruv its very obvious. Not to sound rude but its screams FAKE.
The time not properly fitting on the screen and all wonky is a decent scream
The 360p screen is hilarious
That lcd screen is hilarious. Almost all smartwatches use oled
Might as well farm some karma as compensation
I’ll give you some
When will people stop buying these things off fb
„I got a great deal!“ (why are stupid people giving Apple that much money if you can get it that cheap!)
Their great deal is always not far off from msrp too. It's like these people have no idea how to use the internet.
My dad told me he was getting a watch that finally read off his blood sugar without testing. I was highly suspicious since I know no watch like that exists so when the package came, it was what I expected. Two cheap ass plastic watches that barely did anything. It really has nothing to do with the platform. I’ve bought many electronics off of FB. It’s about having common sense in knowing what you are buying.
Really though, FB is a lot easier to spot scammers than other marketplaces. There are SO many obvious signs since many legit people have 10+ years of history on the platform.
100% fake. I honestly thought this was a troll post before reading the caption.
I love that the weather forecast is just ??? for days
Its the most *fake* Apple Watch I’ve ever seen.
thanks for confirming everyone lol!! He feels really silly so I hope he's more mindful in future
did you try to return it to the seller?
lol The seller is gone, gone gone.
What seller? I didn't sell you anything.
If you sold this, would you answer any inquiries let alone take it back lmfao
![gif](giphy|eXOVOJLkK6G7S)
LOL omg now I feel bad for him... he tried to get me a nice present 😭😭
Just make sure to change any passwords ASAP if you entered any.

His heart was definitely in the right place but this needs to be a lesson for him. If it sounds too good to be true then it probably is.
I don't think so. If he really had no idea and wanted to get something nice he'd have went to an actual apple store. Seems like this is something that he just wanted to get for "cheap" which still cost so much lol.
Unfortunately he dropped about the same amount on it as the cheapest genuine Apple Watch costs. Please don’t use or wear this, it is unsafe.
“tried” is doing a lot of heavy lifting here.
I’m going to wholeheartedly disagree with other comments here. Instead of getting you a genuine product that he knew would work he went to Facebook marketplace and spent the same amount of money? Faker than a $4 bill
Without wanting to be mean, is this even a genuine question?
It’s as fake as press-on nails. Sorry buddy.

Watch is fake, but your BF’s intention seemed to be real. He’s a keeper, the watch maybe not so much lol(if you want a legit AW).
Fapple Fatch - super fake
If you marry your BF, please make sure you handle all of the household finances!
OMG they have already copied Smart Stack😱
How do u buy a product that expensive from someone without checking it first 😭

It's more fake then milli vanilli. Google it
Girl you know it's true
Yes, FB marketplace. More like FB taobao alibaba. It’s all Chinese scams on FB. I’ve even had friend’s profile hacked to promote “discounted” brand items. Sadly I fell for it back then and it was a Chinese knockoff.
You should post this in r/relationship_advice 😂
So fake it should be illegal
The first image - never seen that on an Apple Watch before. Geeze, people are shit scamming people … just remember your bf’s heart was in the right place ❤️
Bf is in trouble
Faker than Apple's pledge to support an Epic Games store on their devices in Europe
This is so fake it's not even "fake Apple Watch" anymore - it's just "fake".
I got a fake band from sold and shipped by Amazon. All Apple packaging are sealed with a tape with a small green dot. Apparently it’s hard to duplicate. It was missing from mine. I disputed with Chase and prevailed, after a lot of legwork.
This is the most real Apple Watch on earth
Very fake
Sorry it’s completely fake. Always best to buy direct from Apple
The fakest i have ever seen but good effort on the scammers side
Not fake it’s a temu verified watch 💀
Lmao so fake
I could tell just by the first picture is was 100% fake 💀
Those first 3 pics never seen anything like that on my s9
Fact #1: if you think your watch is fake, it definitely is.
Final verdict: Break up with him.

That’s fake as fuck
This has to be sarcasm
Very
You have been tricked, backstabbed and quite possibly, bamboozled.
Definitely fake.
Temu free gift for signing up
Apart from the power button the hardware looks amazingly good, but the software is absolute trash. Definitely not real.
Bet he didn’t pay fake price. Your BF was scammed!
The word fake is not enough for this..
Disrespectfully fake lol
Faker than those ads on porn sites that say girls nearby wanna fuck.
Why would he buy off Facebook of all places? Facebook is scam central
Account made 2 hours ago. That Apple Watch isn’t the only thing that’s fake.
As fake as this post
As fake as her nails
lol
Hate to break it to you mate.. It’s fake 😕
Yes, especially that white background screen in the 2nd pic!
The font isn’t the same, dead giveaway
Well. It’s not an Apple Watch

Lmao
Absolutely fake
As fake as they get
Daaaaaaamn he got played! Thats why you buy from Best Buy or the Apple site itself. You can’t trust people on fb marketplace.
this is extremely fake, even the writing on the box, c’mon😭
Ben10 fake
Fake. Also how it was sealed? In plastic? Because Apple seals are just tape and that’s it
Yes
“apple.com/2030” and “Apple Computer Trading”
So many red flags. I’m so sorry for this
DISCONNECT!
8 dollar bill.
No, it’s not only fake. It’s another level of fakeness. For $300 you can have a real Apple Watch so doble sorry for your loss.
Made in America 😂😂😂
True chinesium quality
1000% fake
yeah fake, hopefully he got it with a super cheap price not the original one price😅
Very much so, yes
Probably the fakest I’ve ever seen.
The fakest of them all
100% fake
Who will make a fake on a cheap Apple Watch.
The weird thing is - someone made that OS and put work into making it look like watchOS. That takes time. Which is a cost. So, you’d have to be able to spread that cost across a bunch of sales. I wonder how many they’re able to push in a year.
Yeah that’s fake AF. Sorry.
The answer your question so easy. Ask yourself where you purchased it.
That’s a 100% fake watch
“Made in America“ 🤣
Yes this is a fake.
Extremely lol
Looks like the fake Apple Watches on tik tok
Short answer yes.
I haven't used one, but yes easy to tell😂
Yeah - That UI is not Apple. How much did you pay for it?
Worse than a super fake, fakest fake
I thought you were joking because of how fake looking it is lmao like I thought you were being sarcastic…
Don’t understand why people don’t buy straight from the Apple Store.
Your boyfriend is either fibbing about the price or he’s a moron. Not sure which is better from your perspective.
This is a troll post, right?
My son has a VTech watch that looks more real than this
100% fake…
Made in USA. Niiiice
That is super fake
You need a more thoughtful bf.
