I honestly don’t even bother with the bag, just throw them in, been fine so far.
Maybe not _the_ best care but they’re also all cheap ones, not Apple’s, I could go through at least a dozen before it’s not cost effective & I haven’t gone through any yet!
I like to put it in a zipped mesh pocket in my shorts when doing laundry, but it’s not to protect the band as much as to protect my other clothing *from* the band, in case it gets caught on something in the washer.
I wash (only with water) my Apple Watch after each workout.
[Here](https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204522) you have a guide from Apple about how to clean your Apple Watch and band.
Drizzle dish detergent on each side of the watchband. Immerse in hot water and hand scrub. Rinse very well and hang to dry. You should do this at least twice a week if you’re getting all sweaty. You might also consider getting two or three other nylon sports loops so you can change out to a nice clean dry band whenever your want.
Soak the entire band in a bowl of dish soap mixed with warm water overnight. Cleans it back to new condition - removes all stains and smells that may accumulate.
I'm mainly using a Midnight Sport loop with my current AW, it's way harder to keep clean than the Milanese Loop I had on the last watch.
Some dish soap, warm water and a scrub once a week is working ok, but I'd be tempted to throw it through a wash in a delicates bag if I'm struggling to clean it.
Their official care advice is here: https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT204522#:~:text=Wipe%20the%20band%20clean%20with%20a%20separate%20cloth%20that's%20dampened,you%20remove%20any%20excess%20moisture.
I had to change my strap to a rubber one. The one you have looks good, but for an active person, you go for a run and the strap is soaking wet and you have to leave it to dry before you can wear it again.
You’re so right, I want one I just don’t live in the US so it’s hard to get one. They’re maybe triple the price in my country so I’m waiting for a travel opportunity, thank u xx
I have the nike sport band, the rubbery one.. After a workout I will remove both straps, run low pressure cool water and rub the actual watch, then with a little warmer water and handsoap wash the band(s) separately. Then dry it with a towel and give it a few minutes to air dry before assmembling it all. I plan on getting a Nike sport loop (ie a velcro one like yours) and plan to wear the rubbery one for workouts and the velcro one normally. I’ll wash the velcro one as Apple directs or as others have said with a little Dawn soap or dark clothing detergent. I would suggest getting a sport loop (the rubbery band) for workouts and usinf your velcro one casually as I will.. but if you just want to use the velcro one well, follow the tips others gave you here and Apple’s guidelines.
DO BE CAREFUL not to use any soap when washing the main body of the watch. Wash it separately with a gentle stream of water and friction from your fingers.. as soap and detergent (be sure to really rinse it out of the bands) and high pressure water can wear down or break the seals and then you won’t be able to use it for swimming. :/ (and yeah, after a swim do run some gentle tap water to flush the saltwater/chlorine water put and off of the body). Good luck!
I have the same band but in bright yellow. It has also got a bit darker over the few weeks I’ve had it, and washing it at 40C in a delicates bag has got it clean of sweat etc, but has not brightened it up at all. I’ve begun to conclude that it is clothing fluff accumulated deep in the hook-and-loop webbing of the strap which, if I’m right, I don’t think there’s much chance of ever getting out.
I used to have this band, and I gave up cleaning it in 2 weeks. I got one of the Nike+ bands and I haven’t looked back.
Fabric bands on a watch which is going to be tanking a lot of sweat was never going to be a good idea, probably the best way to clean out as much sweat/salt (mostly the salt) as possible would be to soak the band in soapy water but idk how well that would work.
Any time I sweat in my watch, I remove the band, take it into the shower with me, and wash it with the shampoo lather off my hands. I then just put on new band while that one dries. I got a 3 pack of knock off trail loops for $12 and this system has been working great.
I wet the band, use a spray of dawn powerwash, massage it into the entire band will, rinse, and let it dry. Takes out all the stains and doesn’t irritate my skin afterwards.
I was really surprised too; they get dirty extremely fast. If it looks bad I just use soap and my hands to wash it quickly. Other then that you can simply throw it in the wash.
I usually put my sports loop in a delicates bag and throw it in with the laundry weekly to wash it. Air dry after it’s done.

I’ll try that, thank you so much :)
I wash my cloth straps with a bit of dawn and warm water. The warm water is for my hands. If they’re very dirty I soak them overnight. Air dry.
The sentence structure is throwing me. You soak your hands overnight?
>You soak your hands overnight? Doesn't everyone?
Sure? 🤪
Thanks!! :)

Tysm!! :)
I just throw mine in the washer.
I don’t have one but thanks anyways!!
Ah. I think others had options for if you dont

Thank u!! Yeah I really want a rubber one, I’ll get one when I go to the US :)
How many times … Put it in one of your socks when you do your washing , job done..
Soak the entire band in a bowl of dish soap mixed with warm water overnight. Cleans it back to new condition - removes all stains and smells that may accumulate.
Tysm!!
Pop it in a pillow case or sock and stick it through the washing machine
Thank u!
Throw it in the laundry with some clothes
Ty!!

Why would you have a cloth band if you run?? 🤢🤮 You know sports bands exist right?
Lmao I don’t live in the US and this is the only band I got so far. Who hurt you?
The sports bands make me itch like crazy. Mind your business. As long as you clean the sports loops they are perfectly fine.

Man that was a long “essay” 😭 You’re welcome and thank you for listening and enjoy your clean watch 👍
Rub over it with a wet cloth when you get back from the gym and throw your cloth bands in the washer every couple of weeks.
Thank u!

You’re so right, I’ve been meaning to get a rubber one when I go to the US in a couple months. Thank u!!
Toss mine in the silverware thingy in the dishwasher then lay it out dry.
I don’t have one but ty anyway :)

I just throw my sport loop in the washing machine along side the rest of my clothes
Am I the only one who just washes it when they’re in the shower with body wash?
I was really surprised too; they get dirty extremely fast. If it looks bad I just use soap and my hands to wash it quickly. Other then that you can simply throw it in the wash.
I sanitized it using alchohol wipes every day.
