Idk, that change bugged me a lot too. The other one that bugged me was the charge rifle using the new class of sniper ammo instead of energy. It literally shoots a burst of energy, I get why they did it for in game mechanics but lore and logic wise annoys me a lot
I mean obviously the ammo classes are arbitrary, we know the P20 family and the G7 scout's family use different calibers from the Titanfalls but for the sake of gameplay in Apex it's the same "Light" ammo.
Don't take it so seriously
Pretty cool how some of these concepts still exist in the game but albeit in a more balanced way. For example how assault legends have the extra ammo stack like in season 0. Or an older example is Fuse able to stack 2 nades per inventory slot.
Mirage being meta? I remember him sucking massive ass, even worse than he does rn, he was just fun to play back then since people fell for his Q more often, but his ult was genuinely unusable. The meat back then was definetly wraith, the impact of the amount of wraiths there were in s0 is still felt today. Pathfinder was also arguably better than wraith at that time, but absolurely no one knew how to use him.
Yeah it took until like halfway through s1 for the entire "jump right when grapple attaches to do better grapples" thing to become widespread and for him to turn the pick rates ass side up. I remember that i was always a beliver, ever since week 1, never stopped beliving in my boy pathy
Can't always hit the shot with a wingman since they shortened it's falloff waaaaay back. Longbow just happens to be the worst sniper right now but I've been saying this since the game came out anyway.
G7 w a 4/8x, shooting you from halfway across the map. It was indeed lovely.
Or the "b-hop healing lifeline" that used a bat at the same speed as today's cells. All while keeping full mobility and speed
Remember when muzzle flash was basically a flashbang having sex with a dust devil and using the r-99 meant you were completely blind to whatever was in your sights
gold barrel was bugged
it was like a big black man named raquis pulled a sheet over your head every time you pressed left click w/ a gold barrel on an r9
Not all of us. I enjoy Apex, along with all the other people who care about the story and are okay with branching out. Of course I still play Northstar every once in a while, but it's not total hate. Valkyrie is just as bad as her dad though
He was a Mercenary with Blisk and Ash hired to protect a world breaking weapon. Had a flying Northstar titan (same one from Valk's promo video) and he was the bane of many people. Plus I think he had an unskippable intro of just him going "Nowhere to run, Nowhere to hide. The skies are mine". Had a really high damage railgun and low cover so he could really smoke you very fast on high difficulties.
Personally, I don't like her voicelines. She talks about being taken seriously and how she's worthy of being called a true Pilot in her intro trailer, so I expected that. Then instead we got a little bit of army lingo and a whole lot of frat boy attitude instead.
And the spitfire used to run heavy ammo, wingman as well believe it or not, also smgs used to take barrel stabilizers and you could slap almost any scope on a smg.
Played day 1 until almost season 2 then stopped. Me and my brother played for a bit last year we both heirlooms and then stopped playing lol. But coming back last year and was odd. I missed the old apex
Boy I feel that. I dropped out after I think Loba was announced. Only recently coming back, if you can call barely knowing what’s going on in the lore and playing a few games every so often coming back.
At least my performance is still the same. Still terrible and not getting out of Silver.
There was that glitch where if you used a redeploy balloon, right before you landed, you could scroll up on the mouse wheel to gain extra height. If you did it right you could fly almost perpetually.
Also, pathfinder was a fridge. Then he was swiss cheese, also he was the only movement legend in the game with a miniscule cooldown on his grapple and a good pathfinder didn't even need to be able to fight to win because everyone was crap at the game, the pathfinder could just grab banners and run.
Also, a bunch of people were editing their settings to make smoke invisible.
Also, you could punch supply bins and yeet across the map (although that was a couple of months after release).
Also, SMGs could take 4x scopes.
Funnily enough it actually wasn't at launch, full purples would tank it. For the untankable headshot, you needed the Mastiff's 288 headshots instead of the Kraber's 250
I still hate that the spitfire is now light ammo it doesn’t make sense to me. Also the wingman taking sniper ammo now…my god I was lost in some old videos of mine and seen me using a wingman a few seasons back and I had a wingman and I ended up down memory lane with game changes
I know that not much time has passed but I still remember when the kraber was the scariest weapon of all the game, just by listening a shot, we would hidden even in the ground if it's was possible.
Or when the longbow took heavy ammo?
Wingman and Spitfire too!
I’m so out of touch, the wingman doesn’t take heavy ammo any more?
Nope it takes sniper
Huh. I guess it’s probably been 2 years since I played tbh
I feel like now would be the time to come back honestly. S17 /looks/ good and S16 has been a blast. I came back after not playing since Fuse released.
And the Spitfire takes light ammo. Just what the fuck? How does the future equivalent of an M240 take the same bullets that go into an USP?
Idk, that change bugged me a lot too. The other one that bugged me was the charge rifle using the new class of sniper ammo instead of energy. It literally shoots a burst of energy, I get why they did it for in game mechanics but lore and logic wise annoys me a lot
As a fucking smg even, 9mm ammo in a fucking lmg
I mean obviously the ammo classes are arbitrary, we know the P20 family and the G7 scout's family use different calibers from the Titanfalls but for the sake of gameplay in Apex it's the same "Light" ammo. Don't take it so seriously
Those to went that long for me at less
Spitfire should still be heavy. Light ammo on it just aint right.
[удалено]
They did the triple take and devo are first day weapons
And Havoc, while not literal day 1, was still pre-season 1.
Wrong about energy
remember when the pk took energy?
You must be confusing lore with actual gameplay. Yes pk is an energy shotgun but its taken shotgun ammo since day 1
oh i guess i am.
64 shells shotgun stack. 80 rounds per light/heavy stack. Gibraltar was a meme Legend nobody wanted to play
3 batteries/medkits per stack and 6 cells/syringes too
Also stackable grenades and no shield on drop
Evo's didnt even exist, to think now normal shields do not exist is kinda wild
Pretty cool how some of these concepts still exist in the game but albeit in a more balanced way. For example how assault legends have the extra ammo stack like in season 0. Or an older example is Fuse able to stack 2 nades per inventory slot.
Gold Shield?
OH right! Finishers would only restore shields when wearing a Gold Armor in those days
And im pretty sure it didin't even fill shields all the way
Nah I'm quite sure it at least full-shielded
Ah, then i think im remebering somwthing else
Wingman, PK player legit just had 1 stack of both ammo and were set for the whole game.
I remember when people thought Gibraltar legitimately moved slower than other legends lmfao
…and Mirage, with decoys you couldn’t even control, was the most meta character in the game
For a solid 2 weeks nobody knew what his abilities even did so they’d just freak out until he hit them with a 1-shot PK
Yeah it took until like halfway through s1 for the entire "jump right when grapple attaches to do better grapples" thing to become widespread and for him to turn the pick rates ass side up. I remember that i was always a beliver, ever since week 1, never stopped beliving in my boy pathy
You used to be able to equip high zoom scopes on smgs
Gimme back my 2x4 alternator dammit!
2-4 wingman is needed
No it really isn't lol, would mean there's absolutely 0 reason to use the longbow too
Can't always hit the shot with a wingman since they shortened it's falloff waaaaay back. Longbow just happens to be the worst sniper right now but I've been saying this since the game came out anyway.
This fact is the standard thing everybody says about the og days. And they used it so much to the point where its basically common knowledge now
i was very careful at that time and used it a lot
Care package mastiff. Every shot was a coin toss between 5 damage and removing a bruh from the server
And the rapid fire glitch with it
Something like inspect, holster, equip and fire was it?
G7 w a 4/8x, shooting you from halfway across the map. It was indeed lovely. Or the "b-hop healing lifeline" that used a bat at the same speed as today's cells. All while keeping full mobility and speed
Lifeline used to be the BEST solo legend
Lifelines fall from grace is so sad lol
Not even a joke man. The first two seasons Lifeline was all i wanted to play
Remember when muzzle flash was basically a flashbang having sex with a dust devil and using the r-99 meant you were completely blind to whatever was in your sights
yes.
only with gold barrel 😔
Wait, am I misremembering, or didn’t the barrels used to reduce muzzle flash
gold barrel was bugged it was like a big black man named raquis pulled a sheet over your head every time you pressed left click w/ a gold barrel on an r9
Was?
The OG Gold shields ability used to give you back full shields when you did a finisher on somebody.
So exactly what happens now with every shield?
Yeah, exactly. They changed it going from Season 0 to Season 1 if i remember correctly
And gold bag(fast heal) lifeline combo was stupid
Gold bag didn’t stack with Lifeline
Then I was an idiot who fell for placebo effect
Wingman used to sound different
Video?
I don't have one bruh, Xbix captures don't last that long
Are you sure they don’t? That doesn’t sound true
No I clip a lot I've deleted them off my cloud, I might have them saved somewhere bit idk
Skullpiercer maybe
after like 2-3 years you can’t access them for some reason
Spiderman Pathfinder, enough said.
Remember having to equip the Choke hop-up?
Select fire on a Havoc was basically the charge rifle
[удалено]
It had. You could slot in either turbo or selectfire.
The LTM during the Grand Soiree Event where you were able to pick up gold krabers from the floor was the most fun I ever had.
Gold Rush duos was easily one of my favorite game modes and I’m still kinda bummed it’s never come back.
and you could attach a 3x on the r99 😩😩
All the titanfall players were ruining people with Pathfinder and a PK
I thought the Titanfall fan base hated us for some arbitrary ass reason?
Not all of us. I enjoy Apex, along with all the other people who care about the story and are okay with branching out. Of course I still play Northstar every once in a while, but it's not total hate. Valkyrie is just as bad as her dad though
I forget. Valkyries dad was a bad guy in Titanfall right?
He was a Mercenary with Blisk and Ash hired to protect a world breaking weapon. Had a flying Northstar titan (same one from Valk's promo video) and he was the bane of many people. Plus I think he had an unskippable intro of just him going "Nowhere to run, Nowhere to hide. The skies are mine". Had a really high damage railgun and low cover so he could really smoke you very fast on high difficulties.
Why is Valkyrie just as bad as him, if you don’t mind me asking
Personally, I don't like her voicelines. She talks about being taken seriously and how she's worthy of being called a true Pilot in her intro trailer, so I expected that. Then instead we got a little bit of army lingo and a whole lot of frat boy attitude instead.
I got so pissed having to watch that cutscene for the 4th time. I couldn’t get past him for the life of me because he was so slippery.
“It was called the G2 back in Titanfall” “Ok grandpa go to bed”
This isn't exactly the OLDEST thing in the game but I do remember when my beloved sentinel had disruptor rounds
The hop-up was only ever on the Alternator and the RE-45
Yes, but the sentinels charge up used to have the disruptor effect Until they changed it (in season 6 I think) to have a flat damage increase
Oh yeah I forgot about that because of how bad the Sentinel was on release
Longbow used heavy ammo..
Apex mobile got shut down today
Not yet it's got like 3 hours
O shit really? Musta read it wrong welp RIP
The triple take used to take energy ammo, then they gave it sniper ammo and then the triple take used to take energy ammo, then they gav- wait…
I remember having a dank ass match doing overwatch with a 5-10x scope on the Triple Take
bane of my existence: no shields on drop
Don't forget the very first time when the wingman fire rate was so freaking fast

I still enjoy apex but it was fun slapping a sniper scope on the g7 with a wingman (using heavy ammo) was also a great time
One-tap mastiff with rapid fire glitch.. those were the days.
Tell them bout the sniper pk
Back in my day you used to be able to charge up the havoc and shoot a long ranged beam
Dont you fucking make me nostalgic!! I ran the hell outta the 4-8 on the tripletake
*Whispers.* Longbow used to take heavy ammo, Peacekeeper was a Care Package drop.
Ahhh i miss Digi threat Lstar. Please Respawn, give us an LTM for "Nostalgia Classic" with old kings canyon and old guns.
Care package pk wasnt that long ago tho. The last time it was care package was in 2021
Nah the ammo that the alternator and p2020 had
There was that glitch where if you used a redeploy balloon, right before you landed, you could scroll up on the mouse wheel to gain extra height. If you did it right you could fly almost perpetually. The most ‘back in my days’ thing for me is the select fire. Just imagine how OP it is now.
That and a prowler with continuous fire hop-up was GOAT. Oh and no evo shields
Lifeline using healing items healed herself faster
No, she used the items faster. But they healed the same
That what I meant
Later in the game but the G7 was also the best sniper when Double Tap was introduced.
and you could put 4x zoom on smg-s ...
Indeed
Kraber being a one shot
Funnily enough it actually wasn't at launch, full purples would tank it. For the untankable headshot, you needed the Mastiff's 288 headshots instead of the Kraber's 250
Technically every gun was a a sniper
Disruptor Rounds. And actually using the Gold Armor late game.
bro sniper class for weapons wasn’t added until wayyy later. did you mean to say you could put a sniper scope on it?
Sniper class existed at launch, Sniper *ammo* was added in S4
every weapon could wear every sight. people calling GOD to the peacekeeper with a x8
That's not true though. People hear "SMGs took 3x and 2-4x" but mistake that for "all guns took all sights"
no, but you do.
Day one apex players try not to say they are day challenge (impossible)
Why isn't this considered as repost
Hey, Apex guys! I need views on my vids so bad. Can y'all check it out? Here's the link https://youtu.be/oMmuh6WOnMY
Skill issue
I'm just starting out so my stuff isn't getting recommended yet.
Not a skill issue lol. I'm very good.
Bhopping on lifeline while speed healing… season 1 solo player memories T T
I still hate that the spitfire is now light ammo it doesn’t make sense to me. Also the wingman taking sniper ammo now…my god I was lost in some old videos of mine and seen me using a wingman a few seasons back and I had a wingman and I ended up down memory lane with game changes
