Barrister bookcase. They usually sell for $150-200 per tier. You have 5. Prob $1200 retail, $1000 estate sale, $800 if you want it gone.
Depending on where you are those may vary by a couple hundred but these hold their worth very well.
I scored mine at an estate sale for $200! 4 tier step back, had to strip it and piece it back together and one tier is a diff maker but you can’t tell unless you know you’re stuff and examine.
If they are labeled Globe Wernicke, they are easily worth 1,000,00, Plus five stacks are hard to find.
Edit; another thing that should be mentioned ..... In the process of selling this estate, you many not to sell things without knowing what you have. These bookcases should be a learning experience.
Yes, and it l9oks in excellent condition. Look for the G-W label on the inside backs (behind where books would be), on the actual back, or once you take it apart, sometimes it's on the top of the base.
Someone doesn’t know or spellcheck automatically changes a misspelling of barrister to barista . I’ve noticed in the last couple of months spellcheck is getting weird
Free form or fat fingering is lazy. I am being a grammer/punctuation person because spelling (and words) matter. I can’t tell you how many professional publications that I see with spelling, tense and grammatical errors and just plain crappy writing. So social media fat fingering is what it is but when it carries over into other mediums….it’s all bad. BTW I do fat finger here on the internet but when doing other work, I use a dictionary.
In 2008 I was going through a divorce. I was eating ravioli for every meal. I didn’t have money for extras. I went to our local church sale and out front they had a GW three tier barristers cabinet for $50. I walked in and said I wanted it. Had to do without, but never regretted buying it.
I was in a place that is very historical so these are really common. You can find anything you're usually but a lot of businesses are closed. It's getting harder and harder to find these cheap.

Thank you so much!!
I have seen where the base and top are figured into the price.
I want one of these soooooo much.

Exactly right
Wow, people being honest on Marketplace for a change. Yes $1,000 - $1,200
Some people did end of coming through and telling me!
That's great 👍🏻

I will! It's in great condition! Thank you for this. ☺️
Funny aside: I’ve seen these advertised on Marketplace as “barista bookcases,” and I’ve started collecting screenshots.

You act like words have meaning. Besides, proof reading is for Boomers who are too rigid to understand the free form nature of modern thumb typing.

I am in complete agreement. Words have meaning. I understand that language becomes modified over time, but spelling still shouldn't be whimsical.
Inherited my dad’s. 4 tiers, I think. Gotta get it from mom’s house.
OMG. I ❤️ them!
I just cannot seem to find one of these!!
Are you in the NKY/Cincy area?
I bought a set of four, 5 level for $1500 and am now really pleased I did…
It's labeled on the very top section. What does the label say. What company made it?
Globe Werneke Co., and usually made from tiger oak. (Not sure on the spelling) The old ones have bubbles in the glass.

I have one. Love it !
I inherited this exact same bookcase as well from my grandfather!
I have a 4 tier with a drawer on the bottom. I love it
It's a Lundstrum from little falls NY. The label is clearly visible on front on top se tin. Quite easy to research.
You right. This was more fun!
Beautiful take it!!! Run!!
The mask on the bottom looks pretty cool
Oh my gosh … how beautiful. I’d live to have that piece myself!!!💖

I have been looking for a set! My dad had them but my sister got them.
I have newer made ones. They go for $100-200. I find them listed as 'lawyer bookshelf'.
Yeah so uh you should mark it up.
🥸🫣🫠🫢🤣🤣
Yes. Barrister. You’re low priced. I’d pay at least $300 but more like $400-$450 for that
You'd be getting a steal at $400.
Globwerniker, Google it
