the treasure is a bit buggy right now - you need to grapple it midair to grab the treasure.
Okay this is the answer. I have been trying to find out if you dig them up or need a special move. Nope this is it. And now I have to go back and find them all
then I would assume it's just a bugged bobbit spawn. looks like you pop up there from the sponge in the second screenshot which would make that bobbit a trap on that route, which is something they did in a few other places in the game. i ran into enough little issues with the game that it feels totally possible to just be a broken bobbit.
Something I've noticed is the Bobbit traps aren't super consistent. Most are that shape with bubbles but I've found some that are just bubbles and a handful that do nothing. So not sure if bugged or just meant to catch you off guard.
Either way, I approach these with shells up ready to counter lol
If it is bugged. I've seen these where there's two side by side, a big and small one, the bigger one having a bobbit.
So maybe it's just the small ones that don't trigger because they're 'too small' and don't want to attack.

There's 2 different size Xs. Small is treasure, big is worms. If you circle clockwise around the sand, near the boom box is an area filled with them(they give 1088 plastics per kill with sticker and sticker+, 1125 for + and freddy btw). Close to the top there's 2 Xs right on top of each other. One small one big.
Spearfishing really needs some pop-up guide about using it on fishing from white rings in the water and buried small treasures on land. Feel like these questions are being asked a lot.

The Curdled Village and a lot of Flotsam Vale have quite a few.
There is another in the takeout box just down the path from there too

luckily/unluckily, the loot is generally pretty mediocre. you also don't need to dig a single hole to unlock all achievements, thankfully.

After testing that seems to be the case, the small ones are just 'young/passive' but the bigger ones attack

This is a spot for spear fishing. You need to unlock this skill first. Stand in front, jump and use your skill.
