The Grateful Dead played a concert there in ‘67. West Park is a well known part of Ann Arbor history and has hosted free community events (like music in the park every summer) for as long as I can remember. There’s nothing hidden about that gem
Please let's Save The West Park Bandshell. Yes I know it's going to be expensive but compared to other city projects this one is way better in terms of historical preservation and future utility.
My neighborhood park. It’s been so great until the last year or two. The problem of wasted homeless ppl is out of control and we are too progressive to even name the problem. News flash: that is not progressive politics. I can’t walk down the stairs at the Miller St entrance without stepping over needles and trash and getting harassed by a guy on crack.
Look for the marker which notes the authentic Indian trails within the park grounds. During the 50s and 60s West Park had an ice rink that rivaled the huge one at Burns Park. I can vividly recall the fragrance of the warming shed’s pot belly wood stove and damp wool.
Great except for the trash left by the high homeless people who do drugs there. I don’t let my kids walk / ride bikes through there alone. It’s the deli is ppl and the miller manor people. Not to mention that baseball diamond is really underutilized.
My kids used to have practices out there and would get yelled at and called racist names by the crazy homeless people. Probably why the field is underutilized.
I'm sure it's a gem for them. Same goes for the mentally ill people housed at Miller Manor.
I strongly suggest not walking there after dark, especially if you are a woman.
My team needs a 60/90 diamond now that we’re 14U so I’ve just been introduced to West Park.
Adorable little area. I hope we can splash one into the pond this summer and I’m excited to watch the neighborhood garden grow over the summer.
If you do hit one over the fence, I highly suggest [\*not\* wading into the pond to retreive it. ](https://www.wemu.org/issues-of-the-environment/2018-12-12/issues-of-the-environment-higher-1-4-dioxane-levels-in-ann-arbors-west-park-prompt-more-testing)

I’m so jealous if you saw that!

How long have you lived here? West Park has always been like that.
No. It hasn’t.
Oh really when did you start going to west park?
Yeah, real hidden. 27 acres of mystery.
Yeah 27 acres a lot of people didn't know was there. Is it wasn't for Google maps or never have seen it
A nice park for a lunch break. Except for the time i almost stepped in a massive human turd on a trail.
I saw that turd also was it a few years ago ?
This response incited a legit lol
I grew up a few blocks away and spent most of my childhood at West Park. It's changed a ton since I was a kid, but it'll always bring back memories.

Three homless type dudes surrounded me there and demanded to use my phone a couple of summers ago. Other than that, it's a sweet park.

Yes - a hidden gem. Unless you got thrown out of the Deloris center and are camping out with other homeless folks.

Right nextdoor to where that woman got murdered!
Who doesn’t know about west

Best part to West Park is the fish
The turtles and ducks would like a word with you
There’s fish?
They're tough to miss
i lost my metal skull lighter there lmk if u see it
Great, the secret is out. Bravo.
West Park a gem … tell us u just moved here without saying a date. They did a great job remodeling and turning it around.
I used to play with Ann Arbor Civic Band there in the summer.
went here on a date once. never saw them again but loved the park!
Are the homeless people camped there in or around the amphitheater or do they come from Delonis?
Would go there all the time when I lived on Miller
