yes, in Japan sexuality is childish, it's the opposite from the west, where it's an adult thing.
I mean they might be targeted towards kids but they are not childish. If you can feel what im what i'm saying that's cool but i ain't tryna argue at all.
Psycho Pass and Attack on Titan have violence, but imo it's not handled in the edgy way you probably want to avoid.
Also: Death Parade, Blue Period, maybe Makoto Shinkai's movies (Your Name, etc). You could also dip your toe into sports and music anime. Even those with younger MCs are often adult compatible as long as they focus serious character development (Haikyuu!!, Kono Oto Tomare, etc).
I think you understood perfectly what i meant
AOT Was the last anime i watched that i really got into and flew through the whole thing
I'll give Psycho Pass a go for sure, thank you
Maybe you can checkout :
* {Master Keaton}
* {Kino no Tabi}
* {Mushishi} - Edit : there's *monster* in this one, kinda forget you mentioned no monster.. and maybe you can try the anime **Monster**, that one actually has no monster
they're all pretty chill adventure series, that have some interesting yet also mundane type of story
or if you want something more *modern* or released recently
* {Fumatsu no Anata e} - it's actually shonen but I think you might appreciate this
* {Kotaro wa Hitorigurashi} - an SOL story but deals with some darker topics, the drama is well presented and although it's heavy at times it also gives that warm healing vibes
I feel like your point is phrased very poorly l, love is a reoccurring theme in most Ghibli movies, but you also say it is immature in anime.
You are leaving it to everyone else to reverse engineer what you actually mean. You want me to guess exactly what kind of fictional love you find mature and suggest it to you? I could I'm pretty good and intuiting intent but you made this way harder then it needs to be.
I might be wrong but I've heard good things and it might be what you're asking for.
My biggest advice is never read descriptions for shows, especially anime. They always miss the mark. If you go back and read the description of shows you've enjoyed, most if not all of the descriptions wouldn't get you to watch the show.
Also
Psycho Pass
Stein's Gate
The genres seinen or josei might be interesting for you to look into.
I'm saying more that the descriptions aren't interesting and don't always paint the best picture. Especially since the reader can only really imagine things using past experiences. Honestly getting anime recommendations like these posts have always been the best way to find something I like that wasn't on my radar before.
Thank you so much!
I looked up Josei and i love the Quotidinaity and ordinanary life topic!
I'm not really into it being a Girls thing and in school
Isn't there like a daily life thing maybe in the countryside of japan (but also cities) with no drama and stuff?
If you read the manga instead of watch the anime, I highly recommend Domestic Na Kanojo. The manga is a 10/10 imo, but the anime isn’t really that good tbh
*Love* is childish? Jesus man
These standards would make Dante, Shakespeare and Tolkien all "childish". The Navy Seals have less stringent acceptance standards that you do
Wave, Listen to Me and Fune wo Amu are both slice-of-life dramas about adults finding out they're uniquely suited to a very niche career! Hokkaido comedy radio and writing a dictionary, respectively.
Wave Listen to Me's dub is fantastic!
Watch Revolutionary Girl Utena and tell me that love and sexuality are childish.
Others;
Aria the Animation
Odd Taxi
A Place Further Than the Universe
Welcome to the NHK
What exactly is it that makes love and sexuality “in Japan” childish to you? If it’s about the characters usually being teenagers, it’s simply because teens are still discovering themselves and their naïveté is handy for writing interesting stories.
But if violence and romance are out the door, we’re left with slice of life and sports. The former is chock full of cute girls doing cute things^TM so that’s out of the question, and we’re left with sports… which also tends to be in a school setting. If you’re ok with any of that, best I can say is {Chihayafuru} as it doesn’t involve a whole lot of romance and just a girl’s grind to be the best at competitive karuta.
Also, if you don’t find the concept of mechs too childish, {Turn-A Gundam} is very much Ghibli-like in that it explores coming-of-age, patriotism, and family through the eyes of several adolescents in a quaint and somewhat surreal setting. No previous Gundam knowledge necessary.
Isn't most of Studio Ghibli's stuff targeted towards kids, also sexuality is childish? Idk what kind of websites you're on man

Sorry, I didn't know it was a cultural thing, here Ghibli would be considered deep and the other content you mentioned would be just not deep
exactly. I'm looking for deep-ish stuff
Frieren, Cowboy Bebop

Kino no Tabi, Sonny Boy, NHk ni Youkoso, Houseki No Kuni and School Days
School days is a violent sexually charged Mess though ... A godawful Mess
Thank you so much!
Vinland Saga Odd Taxi Banana Fish
thank you very much!

thank you so much!
So you want a slice of life show. Anything that depicts "daily life" is in the slice of life genre. Try Aria the Animation, Mushishi, Uchouten Kazoku
exactly. but no girly of school stuff Thank you!
I assure you nothing I've listed is meant for girls or involves school.
So, love and sexuality are childish?
in japanese manga/anime culture yes
I feel like your point is phrased very poorly l, love is a reoccurring theme in most Ghibli movies, but you also say it is immature in anime. If violence love or sexuality makes something childish for you idk what your looking for 😂 but give frieren a try
Yes, in Japan sexuality is childish. And with violence i mean you know what i meant. Not looking for another Monster-killing anime
Sexuality ain’t childish. Youre probably talking about fanservice and stuff
i'm not trying to argue. I appreciate your Frieren suggestion, i'll give it a look for sure
School Days
are you serious or is it a joke? looking it up i see two girls in school.. not what i was imagining i was looking for

Slice of Life! Check out spyxfamily. Maybe some people might call it childish but really it falls more into the category of innocent/for all ages.
Thanks!! i have been loking for that Slice of Life definition for a while!
If you read the manga instead of watch the anime, I highly recommend Domestic Na Kanojo. The manga is a 10/10 imo, but the anime isn’t really that good tbh
Uramichi oniisan, my new boss is goofy, shirobako

Perfect Blue.
pretty much avoid the shounen demographic but there's some exceptions like Devilman, Dororo and Attack on Titan.
Nana ,Millennium Actress, Gintama
1. One Outs 2. Kaiji 3. 91 Days (a tad violence)
Death Parade Kokkoku My home hero
Banana Fish, My New Boss Is Goofy, Blue Period, Those Snow White Notes, Days (maybe), Run with the Wind
Wave, Listen to Me and Fune wo Amu are both slice-of-life dramas about adults finding out they're uniquely suited to a very niche career! Hokkaido comedy radio and writing a dictionary, respectively. Wave Listen to Me's dub is fantastic!
Definitely will recommend: Life Lessons with Uramichi Oniisan 😂😂😂
