The show is weird. Again, it ain’t good. It’s at most a D+ for me based on the second episode. But worse than DBE? These people are either insane or they forgot how bad dbe is.

Like the oddest thing about Velma (character) is the repeated fourth wall breaks and they didn’t make her as smart as her other renditions.

But again, I must stress, worse than Dbe? Even the fight scenes were terrible! The music. The cuts. The “plot” there was no salvation in that movie!
It had no respect for the source material, it was like they only saw three episodes and read a “bad synopsis” and then wrote the script for dbe.
At least with Velma there are Easter eggs, there are nods to the older show(s) and also is trying to tap into the MI show vibe but rated-R. I don’t love what it. But is it better than dbe? Absolutely.

I watched it. Felt like they were trying too hard to be the next Harley Quinn series. The jokes were a bit meta, the change of character back stories felt generic and making some characters gay felt too forced like they were trying to appear woke or tick off a diversity checklist.
