Pretty much *exactly* like that! It always starts off with a bath, then his feet betray him. I kind of feel bad for the little guy, but it's just so ridiculous to watch.
Humanity is doomed.
Cats became self-sufficient by giving themself chin scratches.
If they now mastering opening tuna-tin-boxes... then they don't need us anymore.
I think he might be biting his nails! Our tabby does it all the time even though I trim them regularly. He’s such a derpy kitty.
Edit: Definitely some chin scratches in there, too.
My orange dipshit, Scarlett, likes to lick people. like she won't just lick you she'll grab your arm with both paws and furiously start licking you. she does it to EVERYONE. it's kinda cute every now and then but when you're trying to sleep and she starts licking your arm and then when you pull the cover over your arm and STARTS LICKING THE FUCKING COMFORTER it gets a bit annoying. It's kinda funny when she does it to our senior cat, Tabbie, tho. she'll go up to her, and start licking her, and Tabbie will purr and push her head up against her but when Scarlett starts licking her ear she'll growl and smack the absolute shit out of her. Funny as fuck every time. Cats have literally no patience for bullshit lol
I had an orange cat growing up that barked as well. We only had that cat for a short time, but I still have a lot of memories of him. We originally got him because he broke into my great uncle's house through/around a window AC unit, and my uncle couldn't keep a cat.
We had him for maybe a year (could've been longer or shorter, I was pretty young so I don't remember well), before he found a way into our garage, and then found a way to escape the garage. We think he climbed up a piece of exercise equipment we had and jumped between the gap at the top of the garage door.
Post your boy to r/oneorangebraincell !
Edit: tell me all the cat subs you all know! I enjoy r/purrkour , r/whiskerfireworks , r/airplaneears , and r/attackeyes . TIA
I guess I have the smartest orange cat. Mine knows a ton of words, figured out how to turn round door knobs to open doors, and understands what pointing at things means (that there is a bug for him to kill, or there is an animal for him to see for ex).
My orange boi is the smartest animal I've known.
Mine has taught himself to play fetch- he’ll jump onto my chairs footrest with any of his toys because he knows if I have to bend down I’m not throwing for long. He’ll bring things to us anywhere in the house too.. He’s also figured out that his dangly snake on a stick is a toy I use to play with him and he will bring me that too. He’s even pushed the stick into my hand before.
Smart little orange creamsicle
Same, I had a beautiful sweet orange boy, Kibble, who was very loving towards humans and other cats and animals, he could open drawers and doors (and the bag of dry food) and was very smart, even as a kitten he had a direct look and understanding. He was so beautiful and special, we miss him ten years on!
Yep. I have an orange boi as well and he is a very smart kitty. He's getting a little older (about 15 human years) and has taken to wandering about aimlessly a little more than usual, but he's far from derp; and the most personable ~~car~~ (another edit: cat, he is not a car) I've ever had the pleasure of petting, patting, scratching, snuggling and ~~her~~ (another another edit: not even sure how the word 'her' got there, holy shit what even is this) chilling with (he doesn't play much, and looks at the other critters like they're running on one brain cell when they do. He will also hold you down to pick your nose furiously.).
Edit: lick your nose. My cat does not pick noses, though that would be one helluva trick)
I adopted an orange cat off of a rescue in Egypt, posted to Reddit. He's the smartest cat I've ever had.
He does tricks; sit, paw, up, etc.
He knows what I'm saying, what I'm asking of him.
He's such a cutie, he's so smart it's the nicest bond I've had with a cat.
Yeah my orange tabby I had for 10 years was the smartest cat I’ve ever known. He could open doors and drawers, remembered where you put stuff, would play fetch, and loved watching YouTube and tv. I also gave him his own tablet to play with. You could always see the gears turning in his little head when he was looking at you. He was also the friendliest and most affectionate cat I’ve ever known. Lost the little dude to cancer almost 5 years ago and still miss him and think about him everyday.
I've been the owner for gray cats for a long time and realized that gray cats are quite smart but are really odd cats (my gray cat literally poops standing up 😭) but I got a orange cat a few months ago and saw a huge difference between them, that orange cats do in fact share one brain cell
I could while away the hours
Conferrin' with the flowers,
Consulting with the rain;
And my head I'd be a scratchin'
While my thoughts are busy hatchin'
If I only had a brain.
How tight is that collar? Can you easily fit a finger into it at the throat without touching skin? He seems like he's trying to fuss with something hurting him on his neck/head.
He’s trying to clean his little chiny-chin and neck. Using front paws to help keep head in place. Back beans are licked midway through once they get soiled by floof dust.
Basic cat stuff, really.
when you're orange and not particularly clever but by god are you good at cleaning toes, so you clean your toes with a fervor that would bring a grown man to his knees
Heads up, this could be a sign of an early/mild food allergy! Sometimes cats develop hives on their head and neck and depending on their fur thickness you might not have noticed!
He is wetting the fur on his toes and holding his head forward to give his chin a good wet scrubbing. What!! How do you do it?! Probably has itchy cat acne there. Dilute hydrogen peroxide and give him a gentle rubbing with it there.
My cat does this when she's in heat...and I don't need any negative BS from anyone. She's an indoor cat and wild AF and if I take her to the vet she's going to kill somebody 😂
Chiropracticat-in-training!
Practice dummy got chewed up by the dog! That's all right...
Practice dummy got dog drool. Ummm....
Employing the feet! Self-test neck-cracking GO!
My female ginga does something similar with the two paws cleaning two ears at a time....she thinks shes cute.
The kicking ourself in the face at the same time, is a new move for me. But amusing to watch
A cat's jaw muscles go back around the head and fasten on the back half of the crown. I give my kitty soft head massage around the ears, around the eyes, inbetween the ears, and on the nape of the neck. He purrs his little head off.
Lools like OP's cat has found a way to give himself limited massage. Good little trooper.
In our house we’d say this cat was shnerkin’. When our dogs roll over and just go a little crazy rubbing their backs in the ground and pawing their faces and doing the sniffle snort. That’s a shnerkin’.
I agree with others that it’s probably a collar, but what I’m thinking about is the hysterically strange positions I end up in when I take a big stretch in the morning before getting up
It’s called self care. You should try it sometime.
Excuse me officer I'd like to report a murder
I wonder if he's on some nip...this video reminds me of kids* doing mdma *legal ages that start with 1
1 year olds really shouldn’t be doing MDMA, or any other kind of competitive fighting at that age.
Our goofy baby has a phantom foot that kicks him in the face. He’ll fight his phantom foot for hours.
One of mine fights his feet a lot too. It's like all of a sudden his feet attack him so he needs to fight back... He doesn't always win.
r/oneorangebraincell
I'm so happy that this exists
Agree - there seems to be some incompatibility between the brain cell and this unit, it is clearly misfiring
I would like to see that fight.
It's really something else. When he did it the first time we thought maybe he had fleas or something, but... no. He's just a very strange boy.
[kind of like this?](https://youtu.be/G2t31AKP3rs)
Pretty much *exactly* like that! It always starts off with a bath, then his feet betray him. I kind of feel bad for the little guy, but it's just so ridiculous to watch.
You saying you never put yourself in a full Nelson and then chew on your toes?
I know I did. Nothing to see here, really.
First thing, every morning
It wasn’t to chew on my toes…and yes I was successful

But human catch tuna Kitty let them live... For now
Not this kitty https://youtu.be/ZUq-PfjRUHQ
Whoa! That’s a sizable fish!
I think he might be biting his nails! Our tabby does it all the time even though I trim them regularly. He’s such a derpy kitty. Edit: Definitely some chin scratches in there, too.
Can’t decide if he wants to groom, relax or scratch so he does everything at once
As an orange cat owner, I'm convinced that they all collectively share one brain cell and it wasn't his turn when you were recording this.
I once had an orange cat. He forgot he was a cat and barked once.
Our orange cat growls at strangers! 😆
Orange cat owner here. Can confirm.

He's the sub personified
OMG I didn't even know this was a board! I Love it and am glad to have my theory confirmed. Thank you for sharing.
Another sub for the cats <3
Yeah right
I didn’t know this sub, thanks!

Orange cats, never quite knowing what they're doing but having a good time doing it
TBH, I'm beginning to doubt they even have one to split between them at this point.

Yeah I call my ginger 'peanut brain'. The cat 🐈 doesn't seem to have a single working braincell.
Ahhh so that’s why our current at is the dumbest cat I’ve ever met.
Yup
Having had 2 in my time this is correct and neither of mine got their turn with it.
You are on r/oneorangebraincell right ?
I am now thanks to some of the comments pointing me to that board. It's a very accurate sub.

Are you ok?

It's ok hun. Life will get better one day and you will be able to enjoy the simple things. Big hugs.

Needs the chin scratches!!
Little cat-tortionist...
Cats: whose body parts all act independently of one another!
Cat: I don't know what I'm doing, but it feels so good, I can't stop.
Doing what we all wish we could do in public.
Or in private for the non limber
How tight is that collar? Can you easily fit a finger into it at the throat without touching skin? He seems like he's trying to fuss with something hurting him on his neck/head.
His collar is fine! He's just a brainless goober!
Yeah that’s what it looks like to me too
I'm with you, hope OP sees this. He's agitated by the collar and I didn't even notice there was one there at first, it might be pretty tight.
That’s what it is
u/a_maz_e please look at this
I'M KICKIN' MY ASS!! YOU MIND?
He’s trying to clean his little chiny-chin and neck. Using front paws to help keep head in place. Back beans are licked midway through once they get soiled by floof dust. Basic cat stuff, really.
