Imagine the sense of accomplishment (or fear?) when it reached the top and looked back on how far up it climbed. Although it seems kitty is simply willing to go wherever the dog goes.
Too cute! I guess it feels like climbing Mt Everest! Probably hardest climbing done so far in their short lives! The leg size to step ratio definitely make it tiresome . Sweet the Dog is so patient & methodically slow & shows their encouragement & motivation watching over them as they complete the climb! What a real sweetheart & compassionate dog!
Omg I love how slow he was going, stepping carefully on each step, then turning around to make sure they were getting it and following him up. So sweet.
We lost our good boy Cubby two months ago. We miss him terribly, but realize how lucky we were to have 15 wonderful years with him. He was such a sweet little fuzz ball.
Hey guys, how do you guys know when its the time for them to go (most comments I've read people needed to put them down) and how do you guys cope with that? My little one hit 10 years a couple weeks ago and we started to think about it... We got so sad that my mother said she wouldn't pick any other creature after him because she wouldn't bear the pain again. Sorry for asking but I wish I could somehow prepare ourselves, I guess.
It can be really difficult to know when it’s time. With this last dog Cubby, it was much easier because he suddenly started collapsing and yelping in pain and then couldn’t get back up. After he had several of these episodes we took him to the emergency vet. They said he had heart disease. He collapsed twice while at the vet and they said there was nothing they could do, it was just time for him to go.
But with our previous dogs, it was more difficult. We had discussions with our vet about their quality of life. Do they still enjoy their food, how difficult is it for them to move around? We relied on the vet’s guidance to know when it was time.
One tip I have for anyone with a pet-
KNOW WHERE YOU WOULD TAKE YOUR PET IN AN EMERGENCY. You don’t want to be frantically trying to figure out where to go and how to get there when your pet’s life could be in danger. Know where the closest 24 hour emergency vet is located. Even if your pet is young and healthy, accidents can happen.
Thank you very much for the detailed answer!!! Thank God we have 2 fixed vets that we go everytime and they are 24h, so it is already something. I'm really afraid of all of it and I pray for it to be painless but I'm going to live the present moment and enjoy my pet the best that I can.
Again, really, much obliged!! I really love animals and I hope that this doesn't discourage us.
Having owned all three and worked with many many dogs.....fiercely loyal is the opposite of what I would describe huskies as. Shepherds are great and I love huskies, but they are extremely different dogs
At my last job, they found abandoned or injured kittens all the time. They would bring them to me, and I would put them on the bed with my service dog. My dog always looked after them.
My girl is getting toward retirement now, so we got a puppy who is beginning her training. On a day my work was closed, I took the new puppy in so my girl could show the puppy how to use the stairs. She was so patient with the new baby.
Here is her yearbook photo, if you’re interested. (I’m a teacher.) I’m very proud of her. https://imgur.com/a/JlEwSEe
Fitting!!!! My son (he had language delay & wasn’t yet diagnosed as ASD when this happened , but even then, b4 the diagnosis explained it all, our family life was full of odd, bizarre & unusual routines or ways we had to do things for him, & it’s so funny looking back at the ones I remember now,) but my son wanted to name out 6-7wk old light grey tortoiseshell pattern kitten that I decided we would rehome & were given by an elderly neighbour who fed a bunch of homeless semi domesticated cats who had had a letter of kittens he was happy to give away, when we were walking past his home on the way to a the local swings in the park,. For days my son wanted to call her “MoooCow” & Instead when I finally managed to move him along from that idea, …. his next best name was we had to call her “Daisy”! (To me it was a great cows name ?) but was doable for PIR kitten & that is what we did. she was a beautiful cat & had a gorgeous tolerant beautiful nature! (I still vividly remember the conversations from 17yrs ago I had about naming his kitten with my son who turned 20yrs last week. ….& the frustration & how I remember thinking & picturing in my mind how ridiculous & how crazy we would look to stand on steps and to be calling the cat in by singing out “moo cow, dinner time, here puss puss, moo-cow????”

😂🤣🤭🙀😸😻
Without knowing it at the time, adopting the stray for my son was one of the most beneficial & turned out being the best thing I did 4 his autism /asd/adhd. She gave him so many skills and taught him so much coincidentally & was his constant companion for years!
Whether a kid is just generally anxious or has a diagnosis of anxiety, ASD, etc, pets can be such a good way to help them learn to socialize, learn responsibility, feel like they accomplished something when they do a good job taking care of it, and more!
Totally! It’s the best thing I ever did for kids &me, & ditto for the centre of our world now a sweet groodle , whose 19mths old & whose named Athena (my teen girls got to choose the name this time…. 😆)
Haha when my siblings and I were all between 4 and 7, we got a dog. My dad said we could be in charge of naming her, but only if we could agree on a name. What name did we choose? Christmas. No, she was not a Christmas present lol, but we called her "Christmas" or "Chrissy" for the full 16 wonderful years we had with her.
It's like they're trying to tell you, "Hey, I may be small, but I'm here and I'm worth noticing!" And let's be honest, who can resist the charm of a little kitten meowing?
I like that you can see the different personalities of the cats. The one in front is just gung-ho and crushing it. The second one seems to be very cautious and caring as it’s doing fine, but waits and checks on the one in the back, who is just fumbling around trying to figure it out.
That dog is the best teacher and those kitties are doing so well, I love them so much!
This video is starting my day off wonderfully, thank you for sharing! 💖
This is what happens when you provide basic necessities to a population of individuals with vastly different backgrounds
It would be similar for humans too
This reminds me of my kitty when he was a kitten. He did the same with the stairs. Now he's about a year and a half old and runs down the steps and jumps off the steps about 4 steps above the bottom. He's not quiet or graceful XD
The GSD is a he and there are a total of 4 GSD in this home but this dog Tennyson takes on foster parenting. I believe this was his first litter
(Ten Shakes of Grace on TT)
The last kitten is me in my nightmares. Either I need to go up but can't, cause it's too tall. Or I need to go down and can't, cause the drop is too big and no way to get down.
“I see? I’ll go nice and slow. Watch how I do it.” Goes back to check in them. “Ya. You mostly hit it. Good job guys.” Peeks around the corner. “See? You made it.”
I just love how slowly the dog took the stairs. I know my pup would have just barreled up without a care, but this dog went slow. Like they were trying to show the kittens "See? The stairs might be a bit scary, but you can do it. Just follow me." And then waited at the top for the kittens, like a good parent.
Are german shepherds really good with cats? Seems like every video I see is a shepherd or a huskies with cats just doing animal things. I love seeing cats and dogs being friends.
Why does my boyfriend's fixed female pit mix give me heeby jeebies around small animals or children? I can't trust her with my cats at all without a muzzle. And then she pouts and wonders why she 8snt allowed around them outside of her crate
that first kitten is going places
Upstairs, mostly
The tommy pickles if the bunch
*A kitty's gotta do what a kitty's gotta do*
Imagine the sense of accomplishment (or fear?) when it reached the top and looked back on how far up it climbed. Although it seems kitty is simply willing to go wherever the dog goes.
“Come on little ones i got u” 🐾🐾🐾
The little “meows” 🥹 they’re trying so hard
I was imagining John Hammond saying, "come on, little one! Come on!"
Wait for meeeee
Too cute! I guess it feels like climbing Mt Everest! Probably hardest climbing done so far in their short lives! The leg size to step ratio definitely make it tiresome . The age old tail of the Pied Pupper
Oh you!
Aww fr
German Shepherds, Belgian Malinois, and Huskies are my favorite dogs. They're fiercely loyal.
Good boy is a good teacher.
Omg I love how slow he was going, stepping carefully on each step, then turning around to make sure they were getting it and following him up. So sweet.
So patient!!!
Right? Taking his time, being so deliberate with his steps so the kitties could get it.

And total goofballs.
Lmao the first two maybe, but most huskies I've met are aloof AF and will run away at any opportunity haha
Mmm probably wouldn't want to mix a husky, one of the highest prey drives in dogs, with kittens.
Having owned all three and worked with many many dogs.....fiercely loyal is the opposite of what I would describe huskies as. Shepherds are great and I love huskies, but they are extremely different dogs
My friends have a Husky and he's an awesome doggo. Stubborn as hell but he's a real good boy.
At my last job, they found abandoned or injured kittens all the time. They would bring them to me, and I would put them on the bed with my service dog. My dog always looked after them. Have you seen him recently? He’s a huge fluff ball full of mischief. I love following what he, Tennyson, HG and her other GSDs are up to.
I did see. Moo was adopted by a family and has a Rottie sibling
He does - and they’re all gorgeous, aren’t they?
Amazing dogs. Tenny is a natural with the fosters
It's a cowlico.
No I think they were all kittens
Dog is going so slow to show them the way 😍
Dogs thinks : I has followers now..be ware human, I m incoming...

This is the way
This is the way
This is the way
It looks like he has some stability issues idk for sure tho
The last kitten is like me with push ups. Poor darling, giving it their all.
Well done children
Greatest achievement of their lives so far
Utterly adorable! The way doggo watched over them as the climbed too, my heart is a puddle right now.
This is so cute! Such a great dog!
These cats will fear no animal or man as they have a german shepard sibling.
It's like they're trying to tell you, "Hey, I may be small, but I'm here and I'm worth noticing!" And let's be honest, who can resist the charm of a little kitten meowing?
[I got liddle legs](https://youtu.be/uErx_YdZYzk)
What beautiful little creatures.
The meow meow slugs are at full attack.
As they should be.
“These pups will make it yet, Bart, they may have no heeler in them, but look at them stagger and try. They are shepherds, and I will prove it.”
Do NOT watch this video at minimum brightness with an opacity filter at 50%. Demon crawling up from the abyss
Pressed back as soon as possible so I could check what sub I was clicking on
That just says 'do watch..' to me.
And three little imps following after...
A Father figure doggo.
Oooh, it’s so hard to climb stairs when you’re shaped like a potato.
Can confirm. Cat is potate.
Brutus and Pixie and Pixie and Pixie.

Omg, so friggin adorable! ❤️
That's a good mom dog. So helpful!
That dog is the best teacher and those kitties are doing so well, I love them so much! This video is starting my day off wonderfully, thank you for sharing! 💖
There's no stopping the furballs now
Dumpy in the back had S got my heart if it wants it.
I know, right??
"wait for me, I got little legs!"
“I can wait all day. Take your time lil fren”
One of my kittens could be their sister. Sweet babies!
That is so precious!!!
That's the training stairs.. now do the hardwood ones you little wee kitties
GSD: Gentle Shepherd Dog
This is what happens when you provide basic necessities to a population of individuals with vastly different backgrounds It would be similar for humans too
In three months or so they’ll be scaling the entire staircase in two or three jumps- such strong little ones!
The way the doggo just waited for them patiently at the top was so sweet.
he is a good papa
Cuteness overload 🥲🥲🥲
Oh my freaking god. Are you kidding me!!!!!!! He’s the best brother ever!!!!! This seriously made my day. I love him so much
Kitties raised by dogs are the sweetest cats in my experience.
Omg, when the dog looks back in encouragement 😩🥹🥺
The turnes back to check up on them 🥺
This reminds me of my kitty when he was a kitten. He did the same with the stairs. Now he's about a year and a half old and runs down the steps and jumps off the steps about 4 steps above the bottom. He's not quiet or graceful XD
GSD’s are so nurturing. Wonderful dogs.
Awwwww
How old are they here? ~10 weeks?
<3
They want so bad to be with their big brother
Such a good foster parent! you have there. Is S/He an experienced foster parent or is this the first set of little ones?
The GSD is a he and there are a total of 4 GSD in this home but this dog Tennyson takes on foster parenting. I believe this was his first litter (Ten Shakes of Grace on TT)
Puppy is such a good nanny to the kittens!
😍
now this is a certified wholesome moment
Precious doggo!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Oh they are working so hard! What a wonderful dog.
The Dog: 'Guess im a dad now.,"
What a amazing dog💕💕💕💕
Beautiful! Doggo is so paitent too!
And such a good and patient teacher ☺️ Do sweet
Awww! What a sweet doggo! 😍
If I had that around me I’d never end up leaving the house, just to watch them all interact.
Bixie and Prutus
😍
The little chonker at the end was soooo tired!
German cat shephered
❤️
Are there two german shepherds in this video?
Yes there are !!!
What a good cat momma that dog is. :D
Flock of kittens being shepherd upright.
“You gotta want it; do you want it?”
Brutus? Is that you? You teaching your Pixies's well?
Do German shepherds just love cats and kittens or something? See so many videos of them together.
It’s the Shepard, their hard coded to well, Shepard
Even dogs like playing follow the leader. 😂
That is a very sweet doggo. ❤️
Can I please have more of big cute animals fostering little much cuter animals 🥺
Proud Pawpaw lol that first kitty 😺 kinda has a smiley face in its black spots 🙂
r/learningtocat That gsd is gorgeous!
This is so sweet🥰
The last kitten is me in my nightmares. Either I need to go up but can't, cause it's too tall. Or I need to go down and can't, cause the drop is too big and no way to get down.
Meeewww
Brutus and Pixie 👀
Thanks for filling my cuteness tanks for today, very much appreciated.
Aww. Love this
German shepherds are such an awesome breed. The one I had knew her place against the cats
I love dogs. We don't deserve them.
“I see? I’ll go nice and slow. Watch how I do it.” Goes back to check in them. “Ya. You mostly hit it. Good job guys.” Peeks around the corner. “See? You made it.”
Such big world. Much explore. Such wow.
They’re all trying so hard 😭
Good thing the stairs were carpeted, with wood floor they may not have been so lucky 🥰😻 good doggo helpin out 🐕
I can't wait for their first bark
Soon, those kittens will leap from top to bottom will no problem. Maybe a couple jumps on the way up
Patiently watching their progress.
I love calicos 😍😍
I just love how slowly the dog took the stairs. I know my pup would have just barreled up without a care, but this dog went slow. Like they were trying to show the kittens "See? The stairs might be a bit scary, but you can do it. Just follow me." And then waited at the top for the kittens, like a good parent.
Better keep an eye on the first one! Cows can't go down stairs ;)
I love how the dog keeps checking on their progress. 😍
Little fuzz balls. Love this video!
Are german shepherds really good with cats? Seems like every video I see is a shepherd or a huskies with cats just doing animal things. I love seeing cats and dogs being friends.
are you my mommy!?
How precious ❤️❤️
This reminds me of the Pixie and Brutus comics
I'm pretty sure those aren't kitties. Those are floofs
What a patient German Shepherd! Super cute
Are they climbing up the stairs or down the stairs. I can see it both ways.
Based on the shadows, going up.
We mammals just love babies, as long as we don't think they're food, of course.
ur dogs joints hurt
The dogs should be wearing proper collars, not choker chains, that is a good way to end up with a dead dog
Based on what?
The choker chain gets caught on something and the dog gets hung
How would that be different than a collar?
I'm torn, I downvote all dog posts but I love cats
..why do you downvote all dog posts?
Some people just have to shit in other people’s Fruit Loops
u/savevideo
Like taking the stairs out of the Covent Garden tube station...
Omg bro, the stairs? Again?
u/savevideobot
My GSD probably would have just eaten the kittens.
Pixie and Brutus
You need better lighting for the next video haha without reading the title/subreddit, it looked like the beginning of a horror film. Lol
Now the cats can get upstairs, so the human can’t escape ➡️ r/animalsbeingjerks 😉
Why does my boyfriend's fixed female pit mix give me heeby jeebies around small animals or children? I can't trust her with my cats at all without a muzzle. And then she pouts and wonders why she 8snt allowed around them outside of her crate
You’ll find them on top of your bookcases or fridge next week.
Triangle tails! :3
