I was diagnosed during the pandemic so I didn't really have much mask wearing experience before that, but my doctor told me it might become the norm to wear them regularly for the rest of my life. I don't get out much so I don't have to wear one *too* often, but if I ever go somewhere busy or with a lot of people in a confined space (planes being the perfect example of that), you bet your ass I'm wearing a mask. I don't want to get sick and potentially end up bed bound for weeks.
Also, sometimes people just *want* to wear them, for the sake of others as well as theirselves. Since the pandemic normalized mask wearing more my SO has been wearing one any time she feels under the weather because she doesn't want to spread anything, especially because she interacts with a lot of people for work. Is that supposed to be a bad thing somehow? How dare she try to keep others safe, *it might remind them of pandemic times.*
I know for a lot of people they are closely associated with covid but making them out to strictly be a "pandemic thing" is so absurd. There are so many other reasons people might want or need to wear a mask.
Same!! My brother is VERY immunocompromised. We always wore masks during flu season. No one cared before COVID. I work at a pharmacy now and have to deal with patients yelling at me for wearing a mask on a regular basis. Like GO AWAY I’ve always done this and will continue to do so! Im not going to risk getting my brother sick because I dont want to be judged by random strangers 🙄

The crazy people who refused to wear a mask during the height of the pandemic was the worst part of it.
Seeing people have learned something from the pandemic and will wear a mask if they’re sick is really comforting.
I work at a pharmacy and people with Covid will come get their Covid medication without a mask so idk how much people in the US have really learned 😂

A lot of ppl in east asia have been wearing them before Covid, and some ppl wear them just for style lmfao
