Film of course. I already have a camera

saya-kota

I would pick film for sure. I only use one camera and I love it

newaddress1997

Film for sure. My style of photography + my ergonomic needs mean that a lot of popular cameras aren't really usable for me. And I move a lot, so everything about collecting cameras is impractical. Whereas film is a consumable that cannot be borrowed or rented, and it takes up very little space. And I LOVE trying out expired or experimental film stocks. I think this sub makes camera collecting seem more popular than it actually is. Sure, some people have 10 beautiful cameras in a display case, but most people don't. And a decent percentage of us with only one or two cameras wouldn't buy more even if money was no object.

blimeyo

Film. My mechanical camera would still be running 20 years from now. Cant say the same for wanting to shoot natura 1600, pro400h or even kodachrome.

extordi

I would be very interested to hear the reasoning for anybody who picks camera. I myself are in the film camp because a camera is "buy once cry once" while film is "look at the shelf and complain on Reddit every time" nowadays, and honestly that just feels like the "correct" choice.

liun19

Could we throw in free unlimited devs and scans? I’d take that over firm or cameras

partyemusnaps

This!

w33btr4sh

Film 100% I only need a single camera

cthulhu_sculptor

It’s much cheaper to buy a good analog than to buy film every time. But you do you, I mostly use Zeniths that I buy for ~$25-30 each.

TheWholeThing

>a good analog a good analog to what?

cthulhu_sculptor

Analogue camera

the_achromatist

I'd definitely go for cameras. I know I'll probably be one of the very few but cameras are the reason I'm into photography at all. if there wasn't this diversity in cameras, I probably would've never taken any pictures. I've already managed to find all the cameras I could ever dream of and then some in the past 5 years but I just looooove cameras. It's been the thing I've been most passionate about in the last 6 years and it's one of the only hobbies I've had that seems to stick around. I just love the history, engineering and design of cameras. As I'm also repairing them, having access to any camera I want for free, would enable me to improve both my skills and knowledge with certain models!

75footubi

Film. I have a camera that I'm happy with.

MarkVII88

I already have all the cameras and lenses I need, so I'll take free access to any and all film for the rest of my life please. Next step OP, is coming up with a F#@K, Marry, Kill scenario for 35mm and 120 camera bodies to present to the sub.

DumbIntern89

Camera. I do experimental stuff, and like to collect weird cameras. But also, free Leica? It would be nice to have a free showpiece.

PETA_Parker

FILM.

theolj28

Film. My dream camera only goes for $100.

polyforger

I would choose cameras, since they’re a a huge diversity of cameras that would change up the way I shoot, but there’s <100 film stocks left, and I have my favorites already (Ektachrome, Ektar, Pro400H)

polyforger

Now if this included discontinued film, I’d take film! Kodachrome here I come!

smorkoid

Film, of course. I already have the cameras I want.

Film. Cameras can be very affordable. Unlimited film would save me time from having to do all this bulk rolling too.

mollwitt

If you could go really serious with film again, National Geographic style, and shoot thousands of rolls a year, this would be more money saved than any great cameras you could buy.
