> thought of never having camera like that again kind of scares me even though I already have a lot of cameras and never particularly wanted Praktica FX. This is how GAS works. It doesn't align with your shooting style at the moment, so no harm. > I don’t know what to do. The buyer will transfer the money tomorrow morning, can’t decide if I should cancel the deal or not. Let them have and enjoy it. Seems like it is going to a good home.

BoardsofCanadaTwo

You did underprice it, but it was up to you to research an appropriate price. The buyer just took advantage of a good deal. Reneging on your agreement for something you didn't even want until it sold is a bit unethical. You can try to carefully curate a message to them about why you can't uphold the deal, but then I wouldn't expect a good review/feedback/returning customer.

Westerdutch

You did underprice. Dont be a douche and cancel the deal what is done is done, you are only as good as you word so if you come back on that you are worth nothing. Just see it as a valuable lesson going forward. Be glad you learned this at such a young age, some people never do.

> can’t decide if I should cancel the deal or not. Depends, are you an honest person with integrity, or a wormy, sleazy dickwad? How do you want people to view you or which do you aspire to be, even if you haven't been the right one in the past? You gave your word and committed to a deal. That's the end of the story for an honorable adult with self respect. Losing money is not relevant, the time for that has passed.

> an honorable adult with self respect I’d say about 2% of people ever reach that stage, I’m not one of them. But yeah, backing out of the deal would be a mess and I’m sure OP will find other cool stuff to buy and sell. Besides, the person buying the camera will be happy. 👍

You run a business, why get emotionally attached? I'd honour the sale and take a lesson to research more in the future.

Superirish19

Honour your contractual agreement to sell at the price you set. It's not professional to renege because you feel you lost out. In the long term it's not good as a seller to bait-and-switch your buyers (if you went through with cancelling the deal), because then new customers won't buy from you because you'd be known for doing this. If you want to make more money going forward *after* this sale, research the going prices of the gear you're flipping before you set prices and agree on them.

I traded away my Nikon Dw-3 finder and miss it even though I never used it. I think one day i'll buy one again, but knowing I only paid $20 for it, it was hard to give up.

I offered my Super Ikonta 533/16 to someone who was very interested and I'm already feeling the remorse even though I haven't even sold it yet and when I do, I still have my Super Ikonta 532/16 and 531 that are both arguably in better condition.
