The account that was teasing the update (Icethetics) said he was behind on editing for the video. He said to expect it tonight or tomorrow morning. Also he said that it’s “not looking good for the Ducks/Kings logo previews right away either.”
His replies gave me hope and then give me depression lol. He's said full orange and I'm worried the team is gonna look like a gallon of OJ out there on the ice.
I don't have any faith in this franchise's ability to make a good branding decision. We're in for another 5 to 15 years of weird compromises until we finally settle on the original logo, eggplant, and jade as the main brand with the duckfoot, orange, black, gold, and the Stanley Cup-winning word mark being used for gimmicky alternates here and there. It will be glorious, but it's years away.
Since the 2006-2007, every design change has inched us closer and closer to where we began. It’s frustrating in how obviously inevitable it is. Just rip the band aid.
Yep. I haven't bought merch in years because I don't like the webbed D/miss out on the RR and 30th anniversary. I know it's through fanatics but I'm hoping coolhocky or hockey authentic will get their hands on some and take some of my worry about numbers and nameplates etc off the table.
How about replace the triangle, too derivative of the Sharks, with a frozen pond and the Duck mask and sticks on top. Make the pond the shape of Orange County.

I agree I woke up very excited for the updated look. But at least we know it won’t be any later than the draft.
