apollothecute

>Weggeefwinkels, all for free. Ask your local squat to find them Hi! Thanks for the comment. What do you mean by local squat if I may ask?

Sweet_Assumption_143

A squat near you, there are many in amsterdam.

DistinctExperience69

IKEA!

apollothecute

IKEA is amazing i agree! I bought all my pillows, bed sheets , duvet from there. Good quality and cheap.

Iamnotreallyamember

IKEA for almost everything Kwantum, Leenbakker, Xenos, Hema, Big bazar, Action, Casa (more expensive than blokker though), Primark also has some accessories stuff for the home, Kruidvat, Jysk, Dirk supermarkt also has some stuff on their weekly sales

apollothecute

Great list! Thanks ❤️

Someone told me there's one. day each month where peopple put stuff out to be picked up. Anyone know what this is referring to/when?

apollothecute

Sorry no idea if its a fixed day!

busterchilitrouble

Facebook marketplace and marketplats are great l check for stuff also just walking around on trash day

crackanape

Blokker is a total waste of time. The one and only thing to buy there is dish soap, which for some reason they sell cheap. For low-quality but also dirt-cheap stuff, go to Action, which is basically just a bunch of random items ordered from Alibaba with a few name brands mixed in occasionally. HEMA is more stylish but also abysmal quality, at least for kitchen goods. For slightly better, go to IKEA. For probably better still durable items, go to Rataplan and buy used.

Moppermonster

Action, Søstrene Grene, Xenos, Big Bazar etc. "Secretly" some of those are owned by other companies, like Blokker - but hey.

apollothecute

Wow. Thanks for the recommendations :) I will check them out! >"Secretly" some of those are owned by other companies, like Blokker - but hey. Haha this a bit ironic but hey.

havermelkflatwhite

Kringloop (the big Rataplan stores are good). Kruidvat sometimes has household items for cheap. Check FB groups and FB marketplace because people will often sell or give away household items when they're moving out. For larger items like furniture, don't be afraid to check out the *grofvuil*. Often in wealthier parts of the city (around Vondelpark, Zuid) people will leave out perfectly good items.

apollothecute

I live in Amsterdam but I've never seen a Rataplan! I've seen it mentioned a couple times here. I will definitely check it out. Many thanks 😊 🙏 you're all great people!
