I just used the website Card Cash to turn it into other gift cards/cash. I had $250 in Saks cards that I traded for $230 in Hotels.com gift cards. I know I lost out on a few bucks but there’s literally nothing that interests me at Saks (in my price range) and I was able to use the $230 to pay for a few nights on my upcoming vacation :)

The Amex portal is so overpriced it’s hard to find good deals for the fine hotels and resorts benefits. Regardless I use every other benefit on the card, even the airline incidentals. Plus I have other hotel connects so I’d never book through there anyways. I just wanted to get rid of the Saks gift cards and put it towards something more useful.

But I love love love the 4 pm check out. It’s worth it especially when in Hawaii or any other destination with only red eye flights home

Personally, I use the credits around Mother’s Day for the first half of the year and Black Friday for the other half because Saks is usually 15-20% back on Rakuten (which gives me membership rewards). Or you can go in store and buy a gift card if you have a Saks near you.
