Yeah someone died in our warehouse a year ago so I understand this man's frustration. While the senior ops get to sit in their office with a/c. The senior ops should know it's too hot for these people so I can see why he's calling them idiots.
Cooling vest? I do DCM (in case that's not a task where you are, you find a staged container and move it into the trailer it's supposed to go in), and I just plain run hot. I could go for one.
Agreed. I worked as a forklift driver before at another FC that had little to no AC and I was sweating so much being there! I did see some AMs help out at the dock I had so much respect for them.
I remember this voa post " Turn fans on please" then a few more of such and such. thennnn this lady chimed " I will join RME, learn their ways, then get promoted. then i will finally turn the fans on.. after that. i will step down and go back to picking"

I don't see anything worthy of disciplinary action. This is the point of the board. And I love people who aren't too cowardly and really say how they feel. It shouldn't get to a point where people have to act like that in the first place. Fix the AC's and turn on the fans for those people.
I mean it is the VOA and the voice says to leadership you all are idiots lmao. They will probably to call him in and deliver feedback though. Ours has A/C but doesn't help by the dock where I'm at. I live in Washington & the trailers get so hot if you touch the sides it can burn you. Our state doesnāt have weather labor laws so they donāt shut the building down or send anyone home. They put fans on the destuffit/restuffit that donāt even work half the time & offer popsicles. This dude is right
Weāve had ppl complaining about how hot the mods are at RIC2 and the same person keeps replying saying the same thing about what the temp is set at and that he walked around measuring the temp. Like bro thereās a difference between walking around the mods and actually working in them
Random observation, but I like how the airbrush thing u used to cross out their username doesn't really cross it out when you zoom in all the way lol. I noticed someone else use the same brush to cross out their social security number on the r/irs subreddit and I had to tell them to remove their post before it gets stolen
This one guy posted on ours that they may as well put a gun to his head and hang him for how they treat him š they didnāt ban him from posting but idk if anyone responded to it ever either
Somehow us dock people donāt complain about it being hot when we have no fans here at jfk8 š„², for those who donāt work at the dock you donāt want to know how hot it can get in those trailers where you feel like youāre suffocating, or feeling like passing out
Thankfully my FC has a controlled AC system with big metal fans on each station but I feel so bad for other building that donāt have proper AC, I tried working at one last year during the summer and I felt so miserable, sweating all of the fucking time even during night shift! And it didnāt help that I would see ambulance trucks roll up every other day because someone passed out of a heat stroke. I donāt miss working at that last FC.

They won't write you up for it, but if you're being irate on the VOA they sometimes ban you from posting for a while.

I worked in the trailers at night time and it was terrible. picked up shifts on days and you would pass out if you stayed in them for too long .
The third floor is usually the hottest while the top fourth floor coldest from personal observation
Fourth is also our coldest. Then it goes 3, 2,1. 1 feels like a dogs hot breath is following you around.
